About Florence Kasper

We lived in the Irish Hills when we first got married in the early 90's. In 1999, career opportunities moved us away from the area. In 2005, we jumped at the opportunity to purchase a second home on one of the nicest lakes in the area.

Florence Kasper purchased this house in 2005

Why Florence Kasper chose Tipton

This property is large for a lake front property with mature trees and great lake views. We reconstructed a small cottage into The Yellow House in 2008.

What makes this house unique

One our favorite things to do is sit under the maple tree, drinking a tall cool one while watching the lake activity! Of course, that's when we are not tubing, skiing, swimming, wake boarding, or fishing ourselves! There is a porch swing that greets you when you arrive and many other little cozy areas around the yard.

Mornings are a wonderful time at The Yellow House. If you are a morning person, you will love enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck watching the sun rise, wildlife starting their day, and the early morning fisherman reeling in their catches!

During the day, there is a yard big enough for lots of activities, including volleyball! There are kayaks, a peddle boat, and a swimming platform to enjoy the lake! And a wonderful beach front to play in. You can fish right from the dock!

The Yellow House includes a pontoon boat. After dinner, you will see the 'parade' of pontoons from around the lake doing their evening cruise. It takes about an hour to go around the lake and is a perfect way to wined down the day.

At night, the paver patio with fire pit is the way to end the day. Telling campfire stories and roasting marsh mellows is a classic.

Great House for Large Families

  • 5 of 5

The views from this house are amazing! The huge windows draw your eyes out from the kitchen/living room every time. It was cold when we were there, but sitting in the living room almost felt like we were "on" the lake. Home was large enough for all of us and very clean! Owner super easy to work with! Thanks!

I was very impressed with the Yellow House. The house is stocked with towels, linens, kitchen utensils, coffee maker, grill, 2 fridges and more. The open dining area attached to the kitchen made all meals a fun and social event. The boat was an added bonus to all the fun. You couldnt ask for much more when looking for a nice getaway from the busy world. Plan on returning and would definitely recommend to others.

Amazing house, amenities and location! A gem!

  • 5 of 5

The Yellow House at Evan's Lake is the perfect place for a visit with friends and/or family. The ample space, two refrigerators, numerous beds and bathrooms along with three dining areas are great for a big group. The house is well taken care of and easy to find. The outside space is wonderful, especially for kids. The boat was a much appreciated bonus that added a lot to our weekend. Florence was so easy to work with and very responsive. Do not think twice about booking your holiday at The Yellow House... you will love it!

Fantastic Vacation Home for Large Groups!

  • 5 of 5

My family recently enjoyed a fantastic week at The Big Yellow House on Lake Evans. We had a very large group (we filled the place) with ages ranging from a 2 year old, to teenagers and adults to seniors. The home was extremely clean and the welcome message on the big chalkboard in the kitchen was a nice surprise upon our arrival. The size and layout of the home offered our group plenty of space and privacy, with 6 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. We really loved the open floor plan of the kitchen/great room. Between the well-stocked kitchen, large counter, and two dining tables, we had plenty of space for our entertaining needs. We especially loved the adjacent bar/beverage area with a 2nd full fridge and sink--so convenient! The owners met us at check-in to review all details and answer any questions. The large backyard had plenty of space for volleyball and outdoor games. The built in fire pit provided a great spot for our nightly smores and campfires down by the water. The fact that we had a private dock for tossing in a line with our own sandy beach for the little people made such a difference. The amenities offered with this home for the price, (full use of a pontoon boat, two kayaks and a paddle boat), really set it apart from other properties we considered for our vacation. These things paired with the size, location (we had family traveling from both ends of the country as well as in-between and the airport was within an hour away) as well as online reviews from others, all contributed to our decision to stay at this updated, well-kept property! Since there is no cleaning fee, you are responsible for washing all linens, so plan ahead to allow time on date of check-out (we were up early that morning and needed every minute to finish all laundering). We also realized we needed to privide our own lawn chairs at the last minute (luckily, we had several drivers that squeezed these items in, but it could be an issue for those flying). The only missing amenity that our group would have enjoyed were bikes. Unfortunately, we checked around and could not find any place that offered rentals. Overall, I give this home 5 stars. Our group made lasting memories at this lovely home and look forward to returning!! Online photos and description accurately described the property, but the views from the great room are a must-see in person. Definitely recommend!!! Thank you Florence and Ken for your gracious hospitality!!

Owner's Response: Thank you! We never thought about having bicycles. That is an excellent idea! We will have to consider how to do that. We do have a nice lake neighborhood for walking and bike riding.

Great place for a family vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

We had the best vacation with our family at the yellow house. We had 12 people staying, with the age range from 85 to one year old. There was plenty of space for everyone. The accommodations are outstanding. The house is super roomy with areas for everyone. There is everything that you could possible need on vacation, from the fully equipped kitchen to lake boat, kayaks and peddle boat. We used them all.

Everything was better than we could have possibly expected. It was a great place to relax and have family time. Florence was wonderful to work with. She treated us like family and made sure everything was ready for us. We greatly appreciated all she did.

I would highly recommend the vacation home. It will meet all your needs.

Wonderful holiday at the yellow house!

  • 5 of 5

We spent the most enjoyable Christmas at the yellow house. Perfect for our family of fourteen, The teens loved "their" den to hang out in where we kept the pop in their fridge and snacks of the counter Great for that age! The two younger children made the open balcony their playroom with their new Christmas toys ALL enjoyed the kitchen/living area with the huge windows to view the awesome lake We found it so peaceful with the sun shining on the water while watching the ducks, geese and swans. I was happy we could all sit down and enjoy eating together. The kitchen had everything we Everyone agreed the beds and baths were good. Florence had added holiday décor which made it festive and homey. The owners truly cover every aspect to make sure your time spent at the yellow house is enjoyable. We will be back.
