What a relaxing and wonderful spot for a home near Traverse City!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience staying at this home! Everything was in great condition, and very homey! We loved the screened in porch that allowed us to enjoy the river, but not get eaten up by bugs! Would definitely stay here again!

Dreamy Getaway Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at the River Bend Cottage for a long weekend and we all wished we could have stayed much longer. The cottage is tucked away in a secluded area, with all the privacy and beauty of nature surrounding you. The property backs up to many acres of state property, which you are free to explore. Even though we were only 20 minutes from Traverse City, when at the cottage, it felt like we were far from the hustle and bustle, and could truly relax. The cottage comfortably fit eight adults in our party, with plenty of extra space to stretch out (two living rooms and three bathrooms!). Everything was clean and well maintained...beds very comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub, bonfire (which was already set up for us when we arrived...very nice touch!), grilling, hiking in the woods behind the cottage, and enjoying the beautiful scenic river. This place is truly idyllic!

I also have to mention how wonderful the property owner, Evan, treated us. When we arrived, Evan gave us a friendly greeting and answered all of our questions about the house. He brought us detergent, condiments, and anything else we needed for our stay. When the hot water heater went out unexpectedly, Evan was just a quick phone call away and came right away to fix the issue so that we felt no inconvenience. Evan made sure we were totally comfortable and satisfied... a truly great host!

Thank you, Evan, for opening up your home to us! We will certainly be back!

Perfect weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Me and my friends from college stayed for a weekend at River bend. The location was beautiful, and the cottage was amazing. Everything was very clean and felt cozy. The kitchen was very well stocked with anything we might need, except we couldn't find a toaster. We had plenty of room for all of us, and everyone fell in love with it.

Rob was very good to work with. Responded right away and was very funny. He came over to check that we had enough firewood and everything was working well.

We will all definitely come back. This cottage was beyond all expectations.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great review. The handle broke on the toaster and was supposed to have been replaced by Rob. Sorry for the inconvenience. Come back and see us again. Wayne, Evan and Rob

This was a great place to stay. Would recommend it to everyone.

We stayed here with our three adult children and their significant others. We were up to do some wine tasting and shopping. So a total of eight of us. It was a beautiful place with plenty of room. Both the owner and manager were very pleasant to work with. We will definitely be back. Perhaps during fishing time so we can catch some of the fish that we saw in the river in front of the house.
