About the property

Condo, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7)

The beach is just steps away from your front door. The private terrace overlooks the pool area and has an ocean view. The unit is on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool. It is directly in the middle of the complex, unit 215d. The weather in this area is a mild 80+ degrees most of the year and the humidity is low because of the l ocean breeze. There are lounge chairs at both the beach and the pool, and on the Terrace.

The unit has 3 large TV's with USA Dish Satellite including all the premium movie channels. Each bedroom has it's own TV. There is a high speed WIFI connection in the unit and throughout the complex.

There are 4 sea kayaks available with the condo. Snorkeling is right in front of the beach, no need to drive to snorkel. The reef is one of the best snorkeling areas in the Riviera Maya.

A 5 minute walk to the marina allows you to swim with the dolphins at dolphin discovery, para sail, deep sea fish, scuba dive or eat at over of a dozen marina side or ocean front restaurants, many run by Americans offering quality seafood and Mexican and American cuisines.

There is also a wide variety of shops at the marina. A short drive from the resort gives you spectacular beaches, cenotes, water parks, ruins, night life and shopping. Cancun and Playa del Carman are just a short drive away. Another favorite is to take the ferry over to Cozumel Island featuring the best scuba diving in the Riviera Maya. We also have several dive shops at the resort and excellent diving within a 5 minute boat ride at the marina.

If your into the night life, check out Cancun or Playa del Carman just a short drive away. There are spectacular ruins 20 minutes south of the resort at Tulum or drive another hour and see the tallest ruin at Chichen Itza. Coba ruins are also a must see. Check out the Tulum beach and make sure you eat at the Ty restaurant on the beach featuring fresh seafood dishes added to the curries.

There are two spectacular water parks call Xel Ha and Xcaret. You can pet the turtles, stingrays and parrots at these parks and see sharks, fish and all the native wildlife including pumas. The restaurants and beaches at these parks are out of this world and usually include all you can eat and drink in the admission price.

This resort is completely safe and behind a guarded entrance. We have not had any issues with theft, harassment or trouble. There are no vendors on the beaches. One of the best hospitals in Mexico is only 15 minutes away. There is a huge grocery store right across the highway from the entrance to the resort.

Come and enjoy Puerto Aventuras. We shopped up and down the Riveriera Maya for a condo before making our investment in this resort and it is by far the most exclusive, safe and nicest resorts in the area.

About Cindy or Jim Sparling

Hi, My name is Cindy Sparling and we enjoy coming to Mexico every spring and fall. We first found Puerto Aventuras when my wealthy aunt bought a condo here back in 2005. This gated community offers all the best of Mexico and the Caribbean and is very exclusive.

The people here are humble and friendly and very service oriented. There are no vendors allowed on the beaches and you never get bothered, unless you want bar and restaurant service.

The prices in the shops are a bargain and we always find unique gifts to take back home to family and friends. The weather is always perfect, even when it rains averaging 80 to 85 degrees all year long. The sand is cool to walk on no matter how hot the sun gets.

We plan on retiring here for 6 months a year in a few years. Our condo has the best of furnature, 2 large flat screen TV's, USA Dish Network with all the premium movie channels. There is Free WIFI in the unit and the terrace overlooks the pool and ocean. There is a dining table inside the unit and also on the terrace, both seat 6.

We enjoy most meals on the covered terrace outside, complete with barbeque. There are also lounge chairs on the terrace for sunbathing. We have decorated the condo and it is ready to move into with all kitchen appliances all the way down to beach towels. So come and enjoy our condo.

If your're anything like us, you'll want to return to this spot year after year. We really enjoy visiting the ruins which are just south of our resort. The best ruins are Tulum, Chichen Itza and Coba. Google them and you'll see why they are so spectacular. There are many cenotes up and down the highway.

The restauarants in at the marina are excellent offering fresh seafood and mexican quisines. Many are run by American patrons. They all speak english. There is a small grocery store and many shops in the marina.

Check out Paco's Taco's and Jesse's gelato. Also, make sure you visit Xel Ha, Explore and XCaret water parks.

Cindy or Jim Sparling purchased this condo in 2006

Why Cindy or Jim Sparling chose Quintana Roo

Puerta Aventuras is the most exclusive, gated community in the Riviera Maya. People from all over the World own condos and homes in this resort, and most of the people who own here are very affluent.

We felt very safe in this resort and it is centrally located to all the best activities both in the resort and around the peninsula. The entrance is guarded 24 hours a day and it is only accessible to owners and their guests. There are no vendors allowed on the beaches. We have never been bothered by anyone.

We particularly like the people in this area. They are from Mayan roots and are a very humble and hard working society. We find them very friendly and service oriented. We shopped along the entire Riviera Maya before making our investment, and this resort was the most beautiful, exclusive, safe and had the most amenities available.

The Dolphin Discovery right on the resort is always fun to either participate in or just walk down a see the dolphins, sharks, stingrays and a large variety of fish and parrots just a 5 minute walk from the condo. On many of our trips we don't even rent a car since everything you need is right at the resort.

This is absolutely the best of the Rivera Maya and we're sure you will agree when you come for a visit. We have been returning here several times a year for over 10 years now.

What makes this condo unique

The beach is just a few steps away from your front door. Your terrace overlooks the pool and has an ocean view. The weather in this area is a perfect 80 to 85 degrees most of the year and the humidity is low because of the ocean front breezeway. There are lounge chairs at both the beach and the pool and the terrace, and they are always available, no need to hurry to get a chair. We have a full time property manager on site to help you with anything you need.

There are 4 sea kayaks available with the condo, bring your spear gun.

Wonderful Condo - Ultimate Vacation.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in 215D. Very convenient, fully equipped, comfortable king bed in the master (we didn't use the other bedrooms). Comfortable furniture throughout. There is everything you need to cook a meal or take a beach trip (coolers, floats, etc.). There was even a new charcoal grill on the patio. It is the ultimate location for relaxation and access to the beach and ocean. The pools and grounds are lovely (the staff is friendly and very efficient). We were very lucky to have been able to stay in this condo and would love to come back again and again. Thanks to the Sparlings for letting us stay again this year.

Nice condo in quiet area

  • 4 of 5

Overall, we were pleased with our stay at this property. We have been staying at VRBO properties for the last several years while vacationing, and find it easier and helpful to just simply list the pros and cons of our stay.

Pros: The owners were really helpful and were quick to respond with questions, the location was not far from the marina and shops, two pools were nice, air conditioning worked well, plenty of bath and beach towels, plenty of plates and utensils, beds and furniture was comfortable. Satellite TV (when it worked, see cons), in two of the rooms was nice. We only met the manager, Oscar once. After the second day, we never saw him again, and new people were there every day. They smiled, but we did not need anything, so did not get a chance to talk to them. It was great to have a washer/dryer in the unit and tile floors throughout for easy cleanup. The two bathrooms were nice to have with a larger family. The patio furniture was nice and comfortable. Very short walk to the beach.

Cons: Very dark inside and needs a little more light. Half the lights in the second bedroom appeared to be out and needs new bulbs. The third bedroom bed-futon took up the entire room and left no room to move around or access the closet. (We put a kid in there, which wasn't a huge deal, but adults could not have maneuvered in there with luggage or anything extra.) We could not find any bedding for the third bedroom-futon. Some of the extra bedding we found in the back of the closets was damp and moldy smelling, and needed to be washed before we could use them. The vents in the closets was causing moisture and a musty smell. At the end of the day, or during the rainy times, my husband likes to kick back and watch TV, but the TV would go out everyday. A light rain or slight breeze would make it go out. The second bedroom could only be used for DVD's. We didn't bring any along, and there weren't really any kids movies in the condo to watch, so the kids ended up in our master bedroom to watch TV. I wished there was more of an "ocean view". You could only see the ocean from one corner of the balcony. During the last half of our stay, someone new in the complex arrived and would smoke (marijuana) on their deck, and the smell would linger to our deck. I couldn't leave the doors open or didn't want the kids sitting outside. It's nobody's fault, just an unfortunate situation.

Overall we really enjoyed this condo and would recommend it :-).

Beautiful, quiet condo!

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking to relax, this is a great spot! The condo feels like home away from home! It is very clean, super comfortable, and safe. The condo is well stocked in terms of the kitchen and the central air conditioning felt great. The hosts were very responsive to any questions we had. Our kids loved the pool and relaxing in the condo too.

Our Winter Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We have been fortunate to have stayed in this rental twice - both stays were for month long visits. We love Quinta del Sol. Unit 215 is just right for us. Cindy and Jim are wonderful people - they are so prompt in getting back to you - and make the rental process so easy. We have already booked with them for 2018 - so that says it all! The unit is well equipped - brand new washer and dryer - new ceiling fans - new refrigerator. The beds are very comfortable. The complex is amazing - the beach is beautiful - and the people we have met there have become friends. Puerto Aventuras is a very safe community. The restaurants are all great. The location is in between Playa del Carmen and Akumal - and we get around using the collectivos - or a taxi. Truly a wonderful vacation experience!

Quinta Del Sol condo,Puerto Aventuras

  • 4 of 5

Had a great time for the month we spent in this condo. The location, on the beach, close to the Centro area of PA was perfect. The condo is well equipped with lots of dishes, utensils, plenty of towels and sheets, beach towels, some water floaties etc. It is a bit dark in the condo- could use an overhead light in the dining area, or maybe a floor lamp in the living room area. The beds are comfortable- perhaps a new bed could be bought for the small bedroom, rather than the futon, although our grandkids didn't complain about sleeping on it! There was a lack of information in the condo about such things as check out time, garbage disposal, water bottle replacement( the office will replace the water bottle for 30 pesos and bring it up to your unit) etc. However, Oscar, the manager, is very friendly and extremely helpful with any questions you may have. He also made phone calls for us to the car rental place for help since he speaks Spanish and we don't. The pools were never busy, and the middle one is usually heated. You can walk a few steps to the left on the beach in front of Villa Del Mar where the ocean floor is a sandy, not rocky bottom.

Puerto Aventuras has lots of restaurants. Cafe Ole has great music Wednesdays, Fridays and Sunday evenings- husband and wife guitarists and they are great! The other restaurants also have live music as well. We explored the coast while there( by car- although Collectivos are great too) and liked Yal Ku, a natural lagoon snorkelling area to the left side of Akumal. We also enjoyed going to the Alux restaurant in Playa Del Carmen which is in an underground cave- cenote- converted to a restaurant. Awesome experience! Booking the condo with the owners went smoothly and any questions we had were answered in a timely manner.

Coolers every shape & size floaters for the pool, it was well stocked with everything that we needed. We never stay at the same condo twice but we will give it some serious thought. There are 4 sea kayaks on the beach in front of the condo for your use for free. Snorkeling is right in front of the beach where the powdery sand stays cool on your feet no matter how hot the sun gets. There is a full time property manager on site that can help you with anything you need for your vacation.

The reef is one of the best snorkeling areas in the Riviera Maya. Another favorite is to take the ferry over to Cozumel island or Isla Muerher Island and rent either golf carts or scooters to explore the island.

The beach is spectacular with lounge chairs oceanfront or around the pool just steps away. The weather is consistently 80 degrees most of the year, and being on the ocean gives you very little humidity.

Ruins nearby include Tulum, Coba and Chichen Itza. The beach at Tulum is a must see with several restaurants and bars right on the beach. Akamal is a 10 minute drive south where you can snorkel with sea turtles within a sanctuary that protects all the sea life. There is also several bars and restaurants right on the beach in Akamal.

You should also visit Xel Ha and Xceret. These are parks with lots of sea life, cenotes, rivers and amusement. Try the zip lines at Explore witch is only a 10 minute drive north.

The Riviera Maya has been our favorite vacation destination for 15 years now and we cant wait to return several times each year where we always enjoy the weather, food and activities. The Mayan people are so humble and service oriented and very

friendly. Practicing Spanish with them is never awkward or embarrassing.
