About Alan Lande

I have lived full time in Whistler for over 20 years & take pleasure in sharing my Local KNOWLEDGE & GREAT DEALS with you. All you have to do is get to Vancouver - I can organize the rest.

With my passion & long time experience (100+ days on snow per season for the past 12 years), it would be my pleasure & a ton of fun to show you ‘my mountains’ with many secret pockets & powder stashes, either on snowboard or skis.

Weather, snow, wind, light, etc. always change the ‘sweet spots’ in the mountains & without proper knowledge of these elements & the terrain, you cannot always be sure of finding the right places to match your ability.

Provided you are advanced-intermediate or above, I (or one of my colleagues) can expertly guide you to the BEST places of the day & make sure that you stay in YOUR zone – as opposed to finding yourselves in areas too easy, or too challenging.

We are all Certified Instructors, and offer ‘tips’ throughout the day, but this is free skiing/riding & NOT School!

The cost for this is usually $500 a day for up to 3 persons but as a Whistler's Best Guest you get it for $250. ($50 per person thereafter)

Sorry, we don’t have lift line privileges, but with our knowledge we know how to avoid lift lines. Please try to book this early, as it’s very popular.

Conveniently on Blackcomb

Perfectly positioned for our family of 2 adults and 3 kids who attended ski schools at Blackcomb and Whistler. Apartment was as pictured on website, and helped by onsite Whistler Blackcomb rentals, as well as ever-attentive ski valet staff. Since we drove from Vancouver Airport, the undercover parking was also very useful. Alan was a legend: answering queries by email for the better part of a year, securing dinner reservations for us before restaurants even opened their bookings, and moving around dining slots for us especially around Christmas.

We have stayed at the Aspens in the past and always enjoyed it, this time wasn’t as good!

We have rented condos through VRBO on many occasions and always had great experiences with fabulous hosts...this time was different. The five of us arrived for 5 days, 4 nights. First of all, the condo says it sleeps 6, we were charged $50.00 a day for having five people...didn’t make sense to me. The room looked great when we arrived, however we found that the master bedroom window would not latch. One morning we woke up to a high pitch squeaking which ended up being the sink in the main bathroom, we couldn’t get it to turn all the way off and if you turned it too much the result was a high pitched noise! The pool was under construction which I was informed about a couple days before our arrival. My kids were excited about the pool, that was a huge disappointment!

The first evening we were there I had a voicemail asking how everything was...I emailed Alan to let him know everything was good but was wondering how to go about getting extra towels. We were given 8 towels for 5 people for 5 days. I like fresh linens, I didn’t realize the backlash I was going to get for asking this simple question. Alan called me the next day to explain to me that he’s never been asked this and asked me to not be offended by what he’s about to I realize this is a condo not a hotel! After approximately 5 minutes of him lashing out at me I told him I was on vacation and I didn’t need to be lectured about my linen usage. He then said you took it how I was hoping you wouldn’t and proceeded to hang up on me. This man should not be in the rental business, every time I spoke to him he was very condescending and acted like I should feel lucky he was renting to me...with all the “fees” our stay exceeded the going rate per night... I think he was the lucky one!

He said there was a laundry facility, we’ve never seen it but I told him that I will wash our linens. The day before we left, a pleasant gentleman brought us 4 extra towels and generously gave us 2 extra rolls of toilet paper which he took out of a locked cabinet in the condo. Originally, we had a very used roll of toilet paper and one extra roll in each bathroom. Be sure to bring your own TP, paper towels, foil and Saran! The kitchen is stocked with the very basics!

We will stay at the Aspens again but we would never rent this condo again!

Owner's Response: Although most of the complaints were unfounded, or things that were clearly stated on our website, we still took away some constructive criticism & will always try to improve! I think it fair to read the MANY other reviews saying wonderful things - regretfully this guest preferred to complain to try to get a refund instead of enjoying herself. - Our rates are based on 4 occupants - additional charge for extra people is Industry Standard. - Now I know who broke the tap - had to call a plumber to repair. - Regretfully the Pool ( it was Dec 16-20) was under repair....however there are 3 large Hot Tubs they had to use - As soon as the Building advised me the Pool was under repair, I immediately advised guest ( before arrival). - When this guest constantly called me & wanted fresh linens every day I had to remind her that we didn't offer daily maid service, but could arrange her account - that didn't go over very well & misinterpreted my efforts as sarcasm / insults. The last paragraph of this review is completely untrue - There are Laundry Facilities in the Building & Guests do not have to wash linens - we change them after each stay - in her case 4 nights.....I wonder how often she changes them at home! We tried our best, but as we all know - "You just can't please Everyone" I did not offer her any compensation and perhaps this review is a result of that.

The location was just right. A short walk to the main village, but plenty to do at the location

Well appointed, with plenty of space. Particularly enjoyed the short distance from the Village, but far enough away to have quiet evenings. The pool was a great resource for the warmer afternoons when we wanted to relax. I would definitely recommend this location and look forward to returning in the future. Maybe for a Ski week?

Perfect Location

My husband and I were looking for a quiet yet close to the village place to stay for several days, and of course we wanted great views. We got just what we were looking for. This is a very comfortable 2 bedroom, two bath condo that has everything you need for any length of stay. No A/C in the unit, but no problem. Fans in every room keep things nice and comfortable. The views are wonderful, lots of privacy out on the deck and walking distance to everything in the upper village. A short drive to the lower village where there is an IGA grocery store that has all the food you need if you plan to cook in.

The only drawback is that the condo does not have a washer and dryer in the unit, but there are laundry facilities in the building. The owner, Allen, was great to work with and even called on our last day to make sure we found everything we had needed for a fun and relaxing time in Whistler, BC.
