Welcome to the Sandpiper and our 20 Acres overlooking Blueberry Bay on Nova Scotia's South Shore for a long term stay or getaway holiday. We are finishing our seventh year of operating as of one of the top 10 Nova Scotia best vacation properties. We have been able to upgrade our appliances last year to ensure our facilities continue to exceed your needs. Canadian exchanges rates continue to be exciting for our foreign visitors. Your stay at the Sandpiper will provide you an opportunity to relax and recharge. Special events are welcome and our first wedding was held on the property in 2015. The area is quiet and free from all hustle and bustle. Our Shaker interior finishing and Cape Cod exterior capture the seafaring history of the area. The house is completely custom renovated with a mind to keeping much of the original feel of our ancestral home ( originally built in 1850) with all the modern comforts and tastes. It can accommodate a large family or a group in style for long term or weekly accommodation. The Sandpiper will appeal to those who appreciate activities the local land and sea provide and yet retire to an evening of a well prepared meal, conversation and up scale accommodation. Our family has spent generations in this pristine place on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. The community is called West Berlin but before 1886 was known as 'Blueberry', after Blueberry Bay - just a 3 minute walk down a meandering country road. The sandpipers that fly constantly over the bay are our naming muse.
The area feels as if it's far from the maddening crowd (and it is) , but is only 15 minutes from the quaint, historic town of Liverpool and 45 minutes from the larger center of Bridgewater and the World Heritage site of Lunenburg. The vibrant city of Halifax is less than two hours away if a trip to the province's capital is in your plans.
