I need a refund on my cleaning fee since it was not cleaned well before we arrived.

  • 2 of 5

We were in town for a wedding so we spent little time in this unit but if you were using this as a destination, pick another property. This is my first VRBO rental and I will get smarter. This rental had no clothes closets, no news cable channels, pets had been there so watch out for allergies, and only queen size beds--no kings. It had been remodeled but it must only be used as a rental because the bedding and towels were tired and I didn't get the feeling that the bedspread was washed often. I was charged a cleaning fee but it was not particularly clean when we arrived--crumbs on top of the refrigerator, weird lint on the coffee table and opened condiments in the refrigerator that no one would ever think to use. The shower also was slick so I am thinking that the cleaning service just squirted soap and didn't scrub or rinse it. As you can guess, we didn't use any of the kitchen glasses or dishes.

Small cozy

  • 3 of 5

This is a beautifully decorated and well maintained home and was fine for two nights with 5 women. The 3 bedrooms are good sized with comfy beds. There are no closets so plan on living out of your suitcases. Both bathrooms are large with plenty of storage in the upstairs bathroom. The living room is very small and the seating is uncomfortable. The couch is a futon and the mattress kept slipping down so we finally just opened it up and sat on it like a chaise lounge with pillows behind us. That really needs to be fixed. We blew a fuse at breakfast and were never able to reset the hot tub fuse so only used it our first night. Our neighbors had obnoxious parties both nights and we finally had to call the sheriff to quiet them and their music down. There is a picnic table but not convenient to get to so we ate in chairs on the deck as there is no table inside which was fine. We brought prepared food that could be eaten cold or warmed up and i would recommend that as the counter space is tiny. Two cars in the driveway need to be small small cars. And from the driveway to the front door are 49 stairs!. We are hikers so we are in good shape for seniors. I loved sitting on the deck enjoying the redwoods. It was nice and priced right but next time i will look for something bigger.

Felt like we were all in a treehouse.

We spent a week in this house while working in Cloverdale, loved the location in the trees. The beds were so comfortable and the hot tub a delight. Would definitely come back for a non work get away.

Little hut in the trees

  • 2 of 5

Not terrible, but it wasn't close to what we expected. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and it was very wet outside. The driveway is not so much a driveway. It's an unpaved mudpit and a tight fit. My husband and I own a mini van and as I was directing him while he was parking. The "mudpit" was very slippery and made parking difficult. He almost hit the wall on the side and the tires spun. The "mudpit" could barely accommodate for two cars at that point. Two REALLY small cars at the most. There where a few others that showed up on other days and there where two more cars. You can't park on the street in front of the neighbors place because the woman who lives next door is crazy and screamed at us for no reason, called highway patrol who couldn't do anything about it. There weren't any "no parking" signs visible either. So other cars had to park down the street making it a pain to unload/load cars, especially in the cold rain. That's one thing.

Next, on arrival the storage room was open and the door couldn't be shut all the way. The grill was moldy and dirty. I get that it's in the middle of the woods where it is wet, but should be cleaned close to or same day that guests arrive. A couple of us spent time cleaning the grill which took us away from focusing on fun stuff. There were sheets and a couple other things in the washer that needed to be dried as well, yet this isn't the biggest deal.

Lastly, this website says that this place sleeps up to eight people. We had up to six once everyone showed up and it's a SUPER tight fit. Not much space. The kitchen is really not much of a kitchen either. The oven temperature was hard to regulate. You could barely heat up food or it would burn. The refrigerator was teeny and could not fit everyone's groceries. Don't come with the intention of going too crazy with cooking if you stay here.

Not too bad if there is less than six people, two small vehicles, and minimal groceries.

Owner's Response: The driveway has since been paved so no more mudpit. But it is a bit interesting that they were complaining about MUD, in a FOREST, in WINTER when it RAINS. I'm not sure where the missed connection was but for all of you who want to rent be aware this location is in the forest and in the winter it rains. Also, they were paying exactly $18.75 per person per night. What do you expect for $18/night the Hilton?

Cute and cozy cottage in the trees.

Very satisfied. Great place to sleep have breakfast and then explore all that Sonoma county has to offer! My husband and I with 2 adult sons were very content with the accommodations. We will go back and stay there again.
