Guestbook comments from the manager

This is just a short note about our recent trip to Bellingham. We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our visit, but particularly how much we appreciated our accommodation in the guest house; we found it such a pleasant place to stay. It was an ideal accommodation for us: attractive and comfortable in a way that truly made us feel at home. You are to be commended for keeping it so cleanly and tidily maintained . Overall, it did so much to complete our enjoyment of what turned out to be a very happy visit.

We intend to visit Bellingham again shortly -- possibly before the end of the year -- and we hope to be able to get in touch with you again at that time.

With thanks and our very best wishes,

Rating Details:

The property manager was very helpful.

The vacation rental was spotless.

I was very happy with the location.

I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.

Reviewer Comments:

The house was in a convenient location, on a wonderful trail, close to beautiful falls, easily drivable to all parts of town. The unit was spacious, included ample amenities, and was clean, comfortable and very livable. The rental and check in- check out processes couldn't have been easier.

Not an "Executive" Property

  • 2 of 5

We try hard to give good reviews but we feel the description on this property if very misleading. We didn't hear from the property manager during our stay and didn't report the below issues because we felt there wasn't time to make them right and should have been dealt with prior to our arrival.

This is not an "executive" property, that is a misleading description. The property needs lots of maintenance (tile grouted, fixed window coverings, upgraded mattresses - both mattress are super hard and we had to purchase egg crates just to make them "sleepable"). The dryer also needs maintenance as the barrings sound like the fire alarm is going off. The air conditioner is pre-set to 70+ degrees and we were not able to adjust it - what's the point of advertising an air conditioner if occupants don't have control over it? The condo was really hot and we kept windows open when we there but didn't feel safe having them open while we were gone or at night.

In terms of location, the description says it's in the coveted "Barkley neighborhood" but it is definitely on the fringe. It was centrally located but not in the nice area of Barkley.

The house/duplex itself was cheaply built and all the finishes were VERY basic. The furniture the owner has included in the condo is not what we expected either. The pictures look nice but are deceiving. Based on our stay, this condo is over-priced and we cannot recommend it. The only thing we appreciated was full size appliances and nice linens.

There was a note left when we arrived that there were wasps in the downstairs bathroom. There was a note left that it would be ready to use again mid-week. No one came to clean it up and make sure it was ready to use again. Throughout the week we found ill wasps crawling on the floor after being poisoned and somehow escaped throughout the down floor. We understand things happen...but come on.

We hope the owner makes necessary upgrades to make this a good value.

All the touches of home

  • 5 of 5

This is just a lovely property. We stayed here for a weekend with our daughter and granddaughter. It is beautifully decorated, conveniently located, and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is very well equipped - you could definitely use this for a long term stay as well as a quick visit to Bellingham. A great walking/biking path is right out your door, too. It is in a quiet neighborhood - great for sleeping with the windows open. Loved our stay!
