This is a fantastic place to stay. We loved the condo, especially the couch and dining table on the balcony. It was great to just lounge out there and listen to the waves on the beach. The kitchen was really well stocked with cooking utensils and such. And the location is perfect. Dover Beach is gorgeous. Great restaurants and bars are within walking distance yet the condo itself was very quiet. Perfect. I can't wait to return!
It is a good as it gets!
I have been coming to Barbados since 1992. I have always enjoyed staying in the St. Lawrence Gap area of Christ Church. The listing is accurate and I would recommend to anyone. The Sapphire to me is one of my best discoveries-it is new! I think you get a "Bang for your Buck " here.
I like the split level but after an evening of indulgence those steps can be "hellish". I mean that in a loving way but we cursed the stairs nightly like...OMG I hate theses steps which is funny since I am a fitness instructor,
I liked the access to the pool and beach from our unit-we were right there(you can see that in the photos provided). You will have chairs by the pool but will need to rent chairs on the beach.
Each morning around 7:00 AM I would sit on the balcolny and watch the locals take their morning exercise. Everything is convenient- food market, ATM and Scotty's(locals go there to eat and its cost effective and fresh-must get there early) are sooooo close.
The place is very secure like Fort Knox. Dover beach is next door-one of the best beach locations. They have karoke and one night live jazz entertainment which I thought was great! Something for us older folks. They have a nice gym but I also enjoyed morning walks through the gap seeing the locals, other tourist and business as usual on the busy island. I felt very safe in my movement in and around the neighborhood.
The unit was great in everyway. 2 walk-in closets in the master which is awesome! Lots of fresh air when you open up a few doors so we didn't have to always run the A/C. We bought fresh fish(snapper and dolphin fish) from Oistins and cooked dinner a few nights. Only concern- flat screen tvs-we only had service in the living area and not in the bedrooms-that kinda made us mad each day but I guess we weren't there to watch tv?????
You will never regret staying at the Sapphire. It is cozy and quiet. You have privacy but there are plenty of folks to engage if you like. The staff is friendly and the guests were nice,
St. Lawrence Gap is the restaurant and entertainment hub of the island, it also has Dover Beach which is a very popular beach offering water sports and the rental of beach chairs and umbrellas. The Gap is close to all amenities that run along Highway 7 which is the main highway from the airport to Bridgetown, an easy area to walk to bars, restaurants, shopping and other beaches outside of the The Gap. By day The Gap offers shopping and casual places to eat or to grab a quick cup of coffee. At night it comes alive with different types of bars and live entertainment.
Oistins, home of the popular Friday Night Fish Fry is just just 5 minutes drive away, taxis and public transport is easily available.
