New this year...we have rebuilt the stairs to the loft! Our friend, Chris, planed a downed ambrosia-maple tree (a bit rare) into beautiful 2-inch thick steps. Check them out in the photos. They are now much more easily climbed.
We also installed a new metal ceiling in the loft bedroom which brightens the room, and a new tile floor in the bathroom.
We think those of you who have returned to The Cabin for multiple visits will appreciate the improvements.
The Cabin is a charming spot for a respite from the 'civilized' world.
Two bedrooms each with a queen memory foam topped bed.
Soak in the claw foot tub.
Sit on the deck and see miles and miles of the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains.
Marvel at the number of stars and fireflies you can see at night.
Spend your days relaxing and letting your dog run on our 21 acres or take a hike on the property and the surrounding 100+ undeveloped acres. Enjoy the fire pit on the stone patio. Cook on the gas grill on the grilling deck (gas provided) while enjoying the long range view. The well stocked kitchen will have all the cooking tools and dishes you should need.
Or mosey down the mountain to one of the local restaurants or for the many many nearby activities...wineries, zip lines, hiking trails, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Gorge, Linville Caverns, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, gem mining...there will be something for everyone!
Check out the music schedule at The Old Hampton Store in Linville to enjoy a meal and live music.
Spend your evenings snuggled inside by a fire in the fireplace built from stone gathered on the property or gather around the outdoor firepit to roast marshmallows, make smores, and tell ghost stories.
The Cabin was built in 1963. We continually make small improvements for comfort but we treasure the place so we believe we have maintained its charm. Read the reviews...many who have stayed here agree; we think you will, too.
In keeping with the peaceful setting of The Cabin and the surrounding acreage, the discharging of any firearms is strictly forbidden on the property. We appreciate your cooperation.
