About Ned Towle

Married, father of three and grandfather of six!

Why Ned Towle chose Connecticut

This part of New England is beautiful and quaint and the cottage, brook, river, and West Cornwall town are a wonderful rural get-away. The cottage is surrounded by lovely woods and is a quiet place for relaxation and being in touch with nature.

What makes this cottage unique

We like the sound of the bubbling brook, the quiet of the woods, sitting on the deck surrounded by an amphitheater of 100 foot tall trees, jogging along the dirt road on the other side of the Housatonic River, walking through our woods or down our road to the River, the Covered Bridge and shops in West Cornwall, kayaking and rafting on the River, hiking the nearby trails, going to the movies in Millerton, and visiting the nearby towns of Lakeville, Salisbury, Sharon, Kent, Amenia and Millerton.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This little charming cottage is nestled in the woods of a beautiful setting, with a brook and a river for walking by or going in. The little home had everything we needed, but we just loved the outdoors, all it offered and the chance to go--not too far--when we wanted to eat out, dine, shop and enjoy culture. This was a steal, a gem, for us busy folks who needed to slow way down.

Great experience! Looking forward to our next stay already!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a great stay at Ned's cottage. He made sure to email us all sort of very useful information ahead of time for our convenience. Although our main interest was attending the IMSA car race at Lime Rock park in CT, we certainly enjoyed swimming, grilling, and relaxing afterwards. The cottage accommodated the five of us perfectly and it had everything we needed. We are all quite content with our experience and will certainly be back next summer!

Simple yet charming

  • 4 of 5

Plenty of privacy, any of the neighbors we ran into we're incredibly friendly, great place to get away, especially if your into rafting or fly fishing. There were also plenty of interesting hiking trails nearby which linked with the Appalachian trail. Ned was great to work with and very accommodating.

Secluded and cozy

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed here twice while visiting my mother, and for us, it's perfect. Secluded, cozy, and homelike. We love walking down by the river too. I'm sure we'll be back.

Great cottage in great area

  • 5 of 5

Was looking for a quiet place off the beaten path to relax (if possible) with my 3 year old. This house was great -- equipped with everything you could need and in a gorgeous setting with plenty of activities regardless of the season. The owner provided great instructions and information to make the stay go off without any problem. Highly recommended.
