When all done, drop into this finely finished sun kissed basement apartment this friendly residential neighborhood!

All you need is right here, though getting around Portland from here is a snap! We’re on a bike path, a main artery to Portland’s Greenway Network. Public buses around the corner. Max rail is a 10 min walk across the pedestrian bridge. Walkscore is 93, a walker and biker paradise, too!

About the digs! Spacious 680 sqft tastefully appointed basement apartment is sun kissed with large sun kissed windows in the living room and in the bedroom. It’s naturally warm and cozy in the Winter and cool in the Summer.

Galley-style kitchen is appointed with massive 19.2 cuft French door Frigidaire fridge/freezer, full-sized 1980’s vintage stove-oven, new commercial grade Maytag front load washer and dryer. Small appliances include microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Plenty of pots, pans, table settings. If you need a special pan for your special dish, feel free to ask. We just may have it!

Comfortably Sleeps 4: Bedroom cradles a comfy pillow-top Queen bed.

Living room can unfurl cozy full sized futon from the sofa for added guests. Please request the futon to be made into a bed as it requires special tools and may stay as a bed for the entire duration of your stay.

Seek an adventure or just hang out in the shared patio area in the back. Summer 2017 we are re-landscaping yet there’s still plenty of room for a BBQ, work on your computer or simply read a book.

If you are here to work, this is centrally located and a snap to get to where ever you need to go. After a long days work, pop over to any of the great restaurants and entertainment or just grab a take-out and come home and chill! Home away from home.

No complaints... Anjali met me outside, showed me where to park, showed me around the apartment and let me be. She was always available if I needed her and fixed a running toilet issue as soon as I let her know about it. Location was great as well.

Lovely apartment. Great location for 2-months!

If you are looking for a fun location, look no further. Whilst planning at home in Berlin, we read about this happening area in a travel guide book. Mississippi District is it and this lovely basement apartment is THE perfect location! When you enter, you know this is your private domain! It's less than a block from cool restaurants, bars and shops and in a nice residential neighborhood. Street parking only, which got pretty crowded on the weekends, although we quickly could find a spot and just walked everywhere. Anjali has provided all the amenities - fully stocked kitchen, coffee maker, toaster. towels. Kitchen was easy to cook in, nice layout. We made a lot of nice meals here, very comfy cozy. In addition to central heating, the space heaters worked great to make it toasty warm. This is a duplex with another unit upstairs which, depending on the current tenant, you can hear walking around if wearing boots. We were woken up by the people quarreling. We asked Anjali to speak with them and she took care of it immediately. Anjali is an attentive and very interactive host. She responded and resolved any issues that we had right away. Anjali is a great resource for what's happening!

Will stay longer next time with so much to do & see!

Anjali was incredibly helpful before we even got there, checking in to make sure we understood where to go, how to check in, asking if we needed anything - wonderfully friendly. Two girlfriends and I stayed in the upstairs unit, feels like a small cottage. Adorably decorated and very homey and comfortable. Couldn't ask for a better location!! 1 block from amazing shopping, eating, and drinking. Interurban bar was excellent. Lots of other places to check out! Next time we're coming back for a longer stay!

Moving to Portland, best place to land!

We moved from Boston into this sweet cozy downstairs apartment While the place is secluded there was just about anything we wanted...great restaurants, shops & short distance to a couple healthy grocery stores. The decor is clean & modern. Has a full-size washer & dryer, appointed with everything that we needed. Anjali is very accommodating. We needed a particular cookware for my favorite dish, we asked and it just so happened she had it. We felt very welcomed by her & very comfortable in asking for what we wanted. With the real estate market very competitive for buyers, it took us longer than we thought to nail our dream home.

Portland summer visit

We enjoyed our stay at the N Mississippi apartment. The neighborhood is full of charm. While visiting our Portland daughter, we were able to easily travel to the sights of the city from this central location. The apartment was small but the four of us felt at home. The kitchen was adequate to cook complete meals. The barbeque grill outside was also used since the weather was nice while there. We ate at several places on Mississippi. Recommend walking there to check out the variety of places.

The DVD player could be more updated, maybe add cable for the TV. More towel racks needed for the bathroom especially for 4 people. Street parking not always available in front of the house due to the many people enjoying the Mississippi District at night.

Owner's Response: With its endless array of entertainment, people come from all over the world to enjoy this destination location! Currently street parking is free without fees. Getting around is easy. We're on a greenway-bike path. #4 bus around the corner to anywhere Portland. Max Light rail is a skip over the pedestrian bridge. New Seasons chocked full of healthy groceries is an easy 8 blocks. Our Walkscore 88. If you can't find special cookware, we might have it for you! The bathroom has 4 towel hooks,a 2 pronged hook to right of shower door, a 2 pronged hook left side of vanity stand and a towel rod above the toilet. And if you want to swap towels out for fresh ones, just let us know! With so many things to do in the area and guests traveling with their computers, we've elected not to put updates into transitory technologies such as DVD's. Our other place doesn't even have a TV. :) Thank you for your interest in our duplex, Mississippi Fun District Garden!

Great Location

In a quiet neighborhood with good parking. Close to everything, including public transportation (bus and light rail). An accommodating and friendly owner, who lives on the premise. A good place to achieve a true feel of Portland.

Very nice lower basement apartment. Great location!

We had a great time staying in the Mississippi neighborhood and Anjeli's apartment was everything we needed. The location was perfect. Two blocks from Mississippi, where there was so much to do. It was clean, the kitchen was well suited for cooking our own meals, and the bed was very comfortable. There were good windows in the basement and living room, so that it felt airy and light, even though it was below ground.

We would stay here again!

RECENTLY REMODELED: With complete privacy, your entrance is through the side gate to this daylight basement level of our well-loved 1925 duplex. Spacious 680 sq ft. Living room & dining area 11x17' with sun kissed 4x5’ south window. Bedroom 11x12’ with comfy pillow top queen bed and 4x4’ sun kissed window. Cool in the summer, cozy in the winter.

KITCHEN: Full galley style. Fully stocked with cookware and 6 table settings If you need more settings or special cookware for your favorite dish, let us know. If we have it, you can use it! New 20 cu ft Kitchenaid refrigerator with French doors. A typical apartment size refrigerator is 10-12 cu ft. New full sized commercial front load Maytag washer-dryer. Full sized mint condition ‘80’s electric vintage stove-oven. Small appliances- counter top microwave, drip coffee maker and toaster

HEAT- central heating settings at factory default. While you are here, let us know if you want us to dial it up or down. Your comfort & enjoyment are our top priority!

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS:

Private bedroom as pillow top Queen bed. In the Living room: there is a full sized sofa bed comfy futon. When you book, let us know you want the futon sofa made into a bed. We’ll be sure to make it up for you as it requires special tools.

Our rate is for 4 people. For a 5th and final capacity it’s $50/night.

* We do accept friendly furry friends on a case by case basis. Please inquire for approval. Once accepted, we’ll pop you over a simple Friendly Furry Friend Agreement for your review, questions and signature.

This is a super fun destination location on N. Michigan at N. Shaver. With eats treats and beats right around the corner, you have a full array of restaurants, bars, shopping. There’s a full-on healthy grocery store “New Seasons” 0.7 mile, a leisure 15 minute walk. Public street parking. No time restrictions, no permits and no fee required. Urban setting so use common security precautions, like lock doors when you leave.

We are on a bike path. Portland has great bike lane system. # 4 bus is around the corner on Mississippi Ave. The Max Light rail is West on Failing St, over pedestrian bridge. Walk a block and there's the tracks. I5 access: Drive north, then left onto Skidmore, over the bridge & follow signs. See House Rules (Manual) for directions from PDX Airport. Our street is city bike path. Walk score is >88. Healthy food store about 8 blocks. Convenience store just behind us on Mississippi Av. Lots of restaurants, lounges and shopping on Miss Ave too!

Public street parking requires no fees or permits. Plenty of parking during the day. At night with the restaurants around the corner, parking gets busy.
