Mark has done an amazing job with this property. I can't relay in words how much my family enjoyed our stay(but i'll try). He has gone to great lengths to make this property a comfortable stay for everyone. Young or old this is a wonderful "whole family" property! The outdoor activities kayaks, paddle boats, Paddle boards, and canoes. The pizza oven was awesome and of course fire pit. The Views were amazing, great breweries within a driving distance. Every possible lawn game was great fun for our family. Everything you need was there for you, you won't be disappointed! Thank you so much for sharing it with my family Mark. I look forward to visiting again.
We adored this property. Mark is a fantastic host and even produced fishing poles when we asked where we could buy some (the only thing we forgot!)
The home is better than pictured. It's clean, airy and well maintained. The town is has the basics for what you need. There's a place to grab a sandwich or pizza or ice cream. There's a gas station and there's a grocery store. There are a few other locations as well, but that's mainly what we used.
If you're looking for a peaceful oasis, this is the perfect place to rent. The hammock(s) are the best, the paddleboats were my personal favorite and my son is now trying to convince us on why we need a kayak. We highly recommend!
Everything was Amazing!!
Not only is this a beautiful property and a spectacular location, but the property owner has considered every potential need and not only responded to same, but went far beyond normal expectations. The attention to detail and utmost consideration to the renters preferences and comfort far exceeded our expectations. If we could provide 10 stars, for each the home, property and owner, we would happily do so!
Beautiful setting, well-maintained property; attentive landlord, perfect for kids
The house has a perfect location on the water in Island Pond. Kayaks, and a lot of playground equipment for kids and family to enjoy. Landlord has kept the property in A1 condition and is attentive to all our needs, few that they were. For example, the Keureg coffee maker wasn't working when we arrived so he instantly replaced it.
We had a 100% favorable stay. The property is first class inside and out. The view is wonderful. Mark could You will enjoy this place.not be more helpful.
Wonderful week at a perfect house with absolutely all amenities!!!!
We had a really, really wonderful week at this house!!! Island Pond is a beautiful small lake and the house is situated at the end of a very quiet road, right along the lake. Mark has made all necessities for lakeside fun available. There are kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and paddle boats. There are also a lot of great places to sit alongside the lake as well as equipment for games including horseshoes, volleyball, etc.. The well-maintained house has a beautiful covered porch area as well as a screened-in section. We totally lucked out and our weather was awesome so we sat out on the porch areas a lot when we weren't out in the lake or in the yard. The inside of the house is also beautifully done and very comfortable. We cooked most of our meals at the house and there was not one thing that we looked for in the kitchen that we couldn't find. Mark is extremely thoughtful and has added a lot of extra amenities that we have never seen in a vacation rental including a water cooler, a disposable camera, etc. If our dog Piper could give a review, he'd give this place 10 stars. The house has a huge yard that made for a great running area (Piper LOVES to run) and the lakefront has an awesome beach with shallow water for a good way out from the shore. Piper spent many hours bouncing and splashing out into the water to retrieve his water toys. The yard and beach make the house a really great place for kids as well. The local area is quieter (which we like) but there are good places to eat and buy food in the downtown area (which is less than 2 miles away). There is also some great hiking in the area.
Again, this was such a wonderful week for us and we'd highly recommend this rental!!!! Thanks so much Mark for sharing this special location and house!!!!
Island Pond, located in the Town of Brighton, is known to be a beautiful and quiet Northeast Kingdom town. Perhaps one of Vermont’s best kept secrets, Island Pond’s natural beauty consists of pristine Island Pond Lake, the historical district and Bluff Mountain. Together they provide many recreational activities throughout the year.
With miles of trails and wide open spaces, Island Pond has become the Snowmobile Capital of Vermont. Tourists can also enjoy other outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, swimming, hiking, biking, canoeing, horseback riding, cross-country and downhill skiing, and scenic lake cruises. In the fall, the foliage offers spectacular scenery for outdoor enthusiasts. In the winter, there are plenty of snowmobile trails to enjoy. One of the town’s major annual events is the Fourth of July celebration featuring a parade, music in the park, arts and crafts, vendors, games, fireworks and more. Friday Night Live every Friday night June through August.
Island Pond is famous internationally for being one of the first international railroad junctions in the United States, and our often-photographed railroad station. The town experienced economic growth in 1853 when the St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad (the first international railroad), included Brighton as the stop between Portland, Maine and Montreal, Canada.
We Also have a fine library and a wonderful lake side state park.
