The beach heading both north and south of the property are virtually void of any buildings or people however, within walking distance (2 minutes) you will find the local tikki huts serving native dishes, drinks, and small grocery stores. We believe our point holds one of the most incredible views in the Caribbean where the ocean surrounds you on both the north and east side of the property creating a stunning panoramic view. Andros Island is the perfect holiday to bring your flip flops, sunscreen, and a great book. It is also a great place for self made activity such as going for a run on a cool crisp morning and listening to the roosters crow, meandering around the village by foot or bicycle, taking a long walk on the beach and jumping in the ocean to cool off, snorkling along one of the largest barrier reefs in the world, fish all day -deep sea or bone fish and catch dinner for the night.

Our guests love Zona and we can guarantee he will ensure your stay is a 10/10.
Andros Island is full of activities to do both in and out of the water. Whether it's fishing for trophy-size fish, exploring ancient ruins, bird-watching, hunting for buried treasure, meandering through quaint coastal towns and villages, shopping for batik fabrics or simply soaking up the tropical sunshine,Andros Island has something for everyone.
Bicycles are available for rent. Tour the areas surrounding Nicholl’s Town. We have maps and suggested itineraries. Or bike a few miles south to an inland blue hole for a fresh water swim.
Book a 1/2 or full day. Andros offers world class Bonefishing, reef fishing, deep sea fishing—you can do it all! You can hire a guide for a day or just cast a line off the point right on your own private beach. Andros is known as the 'Bonefish Capital of the World'.
Book an on site massage: a massage therapist will come to you, enjoy a massage on the beach or under a shady tree with a relaxing breeze
DIVING & SNORKLING:
Andros Island has world renowned diving and fantastic reefs for snorkelling. You can dive during the day, night dives, shark dives, and one-on-one Speciality Dives any time. All of this on the Andros Barrier Reef - the 3rd largest reef system in the world! A day trip by boat can be arranged for a fee plus there is plenty of great snorkelling along the shore.
WILD BOAR HUNTING
Andros has an abundance of wild boar. You can hire a guide to take you hunting for a day through the mangrove swamps! This can be a dangerous trek so please do so at your own risk. This certainly is not for the faint of heart, wild boars are vicious animals and have been known to massacre multiple, pit bull dogs in one trip. Or, on a more mellow approach, you can purchase a side of boar from the hunters and cook it over a nice flame on the BBQ (we prefer this method). If you ask nicely, you might even get to keep a few tusks from their recent catch.
There are over 200 species of birds that inhabit the Bahamas--and Andros, with its vast undeveloped land, is home to many of them.
One of our favourite activities and can soon be one of yours….
MILES OF UNTOUCHED BEACHES
Anytime is a good time to stroll along the beach. It's perfectly safe, day or night.
Being an undeveloped island, imagine the interesting finds on a leisurely walk down a mile or two of virgin beach, you can find the most beautiful shells, sea urchins, dried coral in multiple colors, and whatever the last storm blew onto shore….
Basket Weaving A remote village settled by Seminole Indians and Blacks in 1821. The basket-weaving crafts practiced here are detailed and highly advanced.
Red Bays is a very different community on Andros, originally settled by the Seminole Indians from Florida. When the US was putting Indians in reservations, a group decided not to accept that 'good deal', and hopped in their little boats, high-tailing it to Andros Island. The people live in a pretty 'rough' style, and it's fascinating to see.
Andros Blue Holes Below the surface of Andros Island is a complex maze of underwater caves called blue holes. Experienced recreational divers can enter from either the ocean or island entrances and retrace the steps of the famous Jacques Cousteau.

Please note: due to Hurricane Mathew that impacted the Caribbean during the fall of 2016, Andros Island experienced damage. Our property survived quite well and all damage has been repaired however, we did loose a few trees and grass is still growing back. The village of Nicholl's Town however experienced more damage than our property and all tikki huts along the beach were lost. There is still a local bar situated on the beach, just a 2 minute walk from our property, in addition to a small resort called Andros Island Beach Resort (5 minute walk) that also has a bar/restaurant for guests to enjoy.

Why Julia chose Nicholls Town
Choose Andros Island to have a true island getaway experience. Something like a Robinson Crusoe movie with secluded beaches, hot sun and soft breezes. Andros Island is also very quick and easy to get to from most areas across North America. You will love the small village, tikki hut restaurants and beach side bars to enjoy the music, food and dance of the island.
What makes this Villa unique
Andros is the closest island to Nassau which means that to get there, it is an easy, quick 13 minute flight. We will assist to coordinate all travel details getting to the island. In addition, our property is one of the few rental properties with fresh, town, double filtered water. Our water is totally drinkable with a good amount of pressure unlike many island properties where they run on wells and cisterns with limited supply and pressure. Also, we are located in Nicholl's Town within a 2 minute walk of eating and drinking establishments.

An awesome spot
If you don't want to see other tourists then come here! This property is awesome with an amazing beach and a friendly little town/island. We did not meet one local who wasn't friendly and enjoyable to talk to. Zona is as helpful as possible and a great bonefish guide to boot. The island received a good deal of damage from hurricane Mathew but it is rebuilding, however the trash is noticeable and a nice clean up effort is needed (off the property that is). Other than that this is the perfect spot for relaxing, fishing, bike rides, swimming and soaking it all in.
Fantastic Place to Get Away from it ALL!
Our stay at Nicholls Town Villa was wonderful. It was more (and less) than we expected. Our goal was real get-away down time. Nicholls Town Villa was the perfect venue for that. Everything about the property was exceptional. The beach outside the villas was beautiful and the sunrises were epic. Zona couldn’t have been a better host. From the welcoming homemade dinner to the tour of the island to our airport transfers - he was attentive to our every need.
We were a bit taken back by just how isolated we were there. Makes us take a different look at the relative big city setting we live in. To do it over I’d take some time in Nassau buying a more comprehensive selection of provisions before our trip over to Andros.
An incredible 10 days in paradise
What a fantastic place to stay. If you ever want to get away from it all then Nicholls Town on Andros Island is the place to be. Friendly people everywhere with the best sunrises of all time. Staying at the property was exquisite with everything anyone could need. As far out on the point as you can get we would sit and watch the local fisherman and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. In the evening, the perfect spot for a romantic dinner. Zona and his wife provided a fabulous dinner the first night and he is more than helpful with anything we needed. Zona is also a great bonefish guide. Look no further. We can't wait to book another stay.
Has everything you need! Host was always ready to help!
Looking for a relaxing break from work? Then this is the place for you. Cottage was as advertised....all amenities were clean and in working order. As a frequent 'Island traveler' I always bring all my meats, special coffee and am looking for a working kitchen to prepare meals. So, I found it here. Cottage #1 was truly my home for a week. As a financial advisor It was a must to handle daily emails/ph calls from my clients. Wi Fi and ph service were both spot on!
As a snorkeler/diver, I made a day trip to Small Hope Bay lodge for a well managed diving experience. Stumbled onto cozy roadside local place...Sammie's in Fresh Creek for tasty Conch salad.
As this is 'slow' season, some restaurants were closed.. but locals helped me find Bahamian fare.
As frequent Island traveler I uhave done several VRBO rentals. What set this trip apart was the always helpful property mgr Zona. Whether by text or cell ph call, he was instantly responsive and helped me in countless ways.
So, this cottage was as advertised and just right for me!
A Piece of Heaven!!!!!!
My husband & I were looking for a beach vacation to "get away from it all." We were in for a delight! We stayed in BH 1 ~every window view of the ocean, we ate dinner on the porch every night & slept to the waves rolling in. I kept saying ; "You know the ads of beach vacations where the water is crystal clear, sandy pristine beach with no one around? That is where we are!" We rented bikes & rode 7 mi to Regatta Beach & Morgan's Caves ~picked fresh quenepas ~ delish. Make sure to bring lots of water where ever you go -it's sunny! Went snorkeling & saw: sting rays, octopus, turtles, lobster, many different kinds of fish & a queen trigger fish followed us around, & all the incredible corals. We rented a car for the day & drove to Red Bays to meet Aggie, the basket weaver, & Wilson Russell, the wood carver. No stores just ask someone and they'll bring you there. The baskets ranged from $12 to $40 & we bought a wood carved turtle for $40~ buy them! You will see the same baskets & wood carvings in your cottage. Next we drove south - yes the roads are quite riddled with pot holes but they are not busy at all. We went to Androsia to take a batik making class ($25)~ email ahead & they will give you a time. The owner Kaycee, gave the lesson ( practice cloth first, then choose either 1yd of fabric, a tee shirt or draw string bag)next learning how to "stamp" and "write" w/ a special wax pen. The difficult part ~you only get to choose one color. Next Kaycee takes you to tour the 4 rooms to complete the batik. We paid $13 to mail home. They have a gift shop. I bought a dress($50) & my husband got his official Bahamas shirt($40), & hair scrunchies($3), napkins($4.50 ea), skirts($20), & small bags($6). The quality of the fabric & sewing is excellent. On our way back we ate at the Brigateer. A deck reaches out into the ocean- conch fritters ~yummy. In town everyone is very friendly & helpful & it's very safe. We ate at a few of the small eateries: cheap fried foods. Many local markets to buy necessities. Bring lots of cash(we brought $1,500), aloe & shoo fly! The best for last ~ Zona. He took care of us like we were family. Zona & his wife's cooking: outta this world(ribs, fish, chicken, lobster, conch fritters) & enough for lunch the next day. Zona snorkeled with us, picked us up when we broke down, made all arrangements for car, plane trip back & everything we asked. Zona is a true blessing! We are already making plans to come back to Francine's Place with friends!
A Wonderful Relaxing Vacation
My wife and I returned to North Andros for a 12 day stay in beach house 2 and once again we had a wonderful time. The property is lovely and on a quiet beach that you pretty much have to yourself the whole time. Zona the property manager was again wonderful and very helpful in arranging things and looking after us and helping us enjoy our vacation even more. I can't recommend this place enough, we will definitely be returning. If you want a place to relax where the only big decisions you need to make are whether to walk on the beach go bone fishing or go snorkeling then this is the place for you.
blue hole exploring, cave exploring, visit Red Bays Indian settlement (basket weaving, sponge farms), crab festival, regatta festival, junkanoo competition, art festivals
