The Abode on Spring Road is located in Sister Bay one block east of the Sister Bay Marina (HWY 42) on quiet Spring Road. This comfortable 4 Bedroom home is a short 2 block walk from swimming, fishing, shopping and the famous Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant. It is 5 minutes from the Sister Bay Beach and Park which has a full sand beach/w dock, a volleyball court, playground, indoor bathroom facilities with amenities such as kayaking, canoeing, jet skis and boat rentals. The Sister Bay Marina has a public boat launch, parking for long/short term docking. From the Abode on Spring Road you are simply minutes from restaurants, shopping and all that Sister Bay as well as Door County has to offer.

Floor Plan Narrative:

Take four steps up and into the Abode; you’ll find yourself facing the living room, with the dining room to your right and the kitchen just beyond that. Go through the kitchen to the back door leading to a cozy deck to grill out on, or to enjoy the large backyard. The door to the unfinished basement is right next to the back door; the washer & dryer are located there. Access the back hallway through the dining room: there is a bedroom with a full bed, a full bathroom, and a bedroom with Queen bed. Go upstairs through the living room – the upstairs hallway has lots of storage space, a bathroom with a shower stall only, and two bedrooms, one with a Queen bed and one with three twin beds.

We all Loved it!

The home was perfect for us. My Mom and brother each had the main floor rooms and my husband and I shared the upstairs queen room. Two of our adult kids each stopped by for a night and used the room with the twin beds. The two full baths worked out great for us also. We sat by the fire pit each night and then headed out to the Marina for a sun set over the water. It's so close to everything we walked and shopped in town. Our daughter run around the area in the morning for exercise. It was nice to be able to walk to the sun set too. The location is central and was easy to head out in any direction each day. We covered the entire Door County including Washington Island. We ate breakfast and dinner at the house each day and packed a picnic for lunch on the road each afternoon. The deck was great for eating and just relaxing. The TV came in handy in the evening. We had to use the notebook for directions on how to get the TV working but not a problem. They also had a large selection of movies too. The home was fresh and clean and had everything we needed for a perfect family reunion. It was AWESOME!

Great Location by Marina.

Very nice renovated house and good location and the rooms were clean when we reached. House is in quiet street and the beach is very near. Sun set point is just 5 min walking distance from house. Lot of space outside. All the main attractions of Door County are within 20-25 mins from home. They have fully furnished kitchen that helped us to cook our desired food. The photos accurately reflects the property. The TV in the main hall is working but the other TV's in bed room were fairly working. Stairs being in the main room, It would have been good if there was a gate for the stairs. Could't keep kids from playing and falling from the stairs.

Wonderful house and location!

House has been renovated and looks great--- lots of room to spread out, inside and outside.

Located on a quiet street, it's an easy walk to the marina and the shops and restaurants; felt very safe even walking home at night.

Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Abode in Sister Bay

I was attracted to this listing because of its location in Sister Bay and its value minded pricing. Renting a house for a week saved money compared to several hotel rooms, and this gave us plenty of room to sprawl.

First let me say that this property was clean and in good repair. Next let me say that this property can best be described as quaint. I haven't seen this much wood paneling since my Grandmother's house. You can see for yourself. The photos accurately reflect the property.

So, what are the high points of this property?

1) My 86 year old father had no problems with the front steps and was easily accommodated by the ground floor bedroom.

2) The kitchen had all of the things you expect in a home, both appliance wise and dish wise. We did most breakfasts and dinners at the house.

3) The gas grill on the deck was nice. We cooked out three nights.

4) This property is managed by Door County Property Management which is headquartered in Sister Bay. This is handy in case you have issues and you don't know how to contact the owner.

5) This location is very close to Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant and the Sister Bay Marina. My 3 year old and I easily walked to the large playground south of the marina,.

6) The laundry in the basement is very clean and handy. Since we still cloth diaper my 1 year old son, this was a big plus over a hotel.

7) The hot water was plentiful and never seemed to run out even with lots of showers going on.

8) The street is very quiet as is the neighborhood.

Were there any surprises?

1) I soon discovered that the lavatory cabinet of the downstairs bathroom is the laundry chute to the basement. There is no bottom to the left side of this cabinet; the chute lacks a hatch. After that, we kept the bathroom door closed so my 1 year old wouldn't wander in and explore.

2) The door to the deck proved to be a challenge to lock.

All in all, this property was far better than a hotel stay. In the future, I will probably use VRBO again. We would like to bring more of the family along next time and rent a larger property along the water.
