This condo rental is an oversized studio, very spacious and thoughtfully furnished and decorated. There is plenty of comfortable furniture, but the place is still spacious and uncluttered. There are windows spanning an entire wall of this unit, providing a stunning view of the beautiful blue and turquoise ocean, gorgeous sunsets, the Waikiki skyline, occasional firework displays, passing ships, surfers, long-distance swimmers and canoe paddlers. We spent a lot of time on the window seat of this unit, just watching the scenery. That said, the window is so vast, I would not recommend a small child for this rental. Since it is a corner unit, it is very private and quiet. Unlike most units in the building, people cannot pass in front of kitchen and bathroom windows. Because the unit is on the 18th floor and spans the depth of the building, ventilation is excellent. At times, we almost completely closed the windows. The unit is very well appointed. I cooked a lot while staying there and found most everything I needed in the kitchen. The king bed is very comfortable. Water pressure in the shower is excellent. The washer/dryer functioned well. The management is very responsive, receptive to suggestions and quick to solve any problems. Colony Surf is a wonderful building and immaculately maintained. It is in a prime location, across the street from Kapiolani Park and a short walk to Waikiki. The beach behind the building is lovely and swimming is sweet there. It abuts the Outrigger Canoe Club, so there are always canoes coming and going which is fun to watch. Kaimana Beach is on the other side, and it is also a beautiful place to relax. Really, the location can't be matched. The bus runs right out front, and if you have a car, the parking space is very convenient. I recommend this rental without reservation. It surpassed my expectations.
