About Fran Rudolph

We love Wrightsville Beach, so much so that we've made it our home. The minute we cross the drawbridge on our way back from Wilmington (the big city), we leave all worries behind. Almost daily, we either walk the beach at low tide, or when it's high tide, we walk the 3.5 mile 'loop' around the center of Wrightsville Beach. We also love to take morning kayak padddles through the tidal creeks - you can't imagine the quiet or the thrill of coming upon a flock of roosting Ibis, egrets or herons - and rake a few clams for dinner. For a bit more excitement, my husband heads to the beach to catch some waves, sometimes even alongside a family of dolphins. And if you have any trouble or are looking for a restaurant, museum or babysitter recommendation, you don't have to go far - we live on the 2nd floor!

This was perfect for us. We are a family of four with two boys who are ages two and five. We parked our car in the covered parking next to the front door when we arrived, and did not get in it again until we left. I really liked that we were able to easily walk to the beach because I hate the mess of having wet, sandy toddlers and toys getting in and out of the car. We were also able to walk to dinner easily with a stroller. The location is perfect in that regard. It's also on a very quiet residential street with barely any traffic so I didn't worry when the boys were in the driveway and there was no traffic noise.

The fenced yard was lovely. We enjoyed the hammock, picnic table, grill and deck chairs. After a day at the beach we were all able to fit comfortably in the large outdoor shower to wash the little ones without having to track sand into the house and bath tub. We enjoyed all of the extras that come with this house - the beach toys, beach chairs, boogie boards, the wagon to haul your gear, my husband surfed and we went out on the kayaks twice. It was great to be able to pull the kayak a few hundred yards and put in easily. No need to load it up or go to a dock.

The interior of the home was beautifully decorated and very clean. I was a little worried about white furniture and toddlers, so Fran gave us some sheets to cover them with so I didn't have to be stressed about that. Our queen sized bed was comfortable and the boys slept well in their own room. So much better than a hotel where you are all in one room together! As a matter of fact, don't even consider a hotel or a condo with people above and below you. Stay here. It's private, quiet and all of the extras more than make up for the tiny bit more you may pay.

Fran was lovely, helpful and kind. We would definitely stay here again.

welcoming, clean, great location, well-equipped

  • 5 of 5

The hosts were very welcoming, making sure they answered any questions we had, calling our attention to unique opportunities, and giving us helpful instructions. Access to bikes and kayaks gave us so many more options with regard to where we could go and what we could do.

The place was clean and well-equipped with miscellaneous supplies, such as dish soap, paper towels, cooking oil, salt & pepper, etc. That helped us feel very functional and right at home!

The location is fabulous: half a block from an easy kayak launch, a three-minute walk from the beach, and an easy half-mile walk to the Presbyterian church down the road. It was perfect for us, because we like to cook our own meals and be outdoors.

We'd like to come back!

Great place to stay and close to beach!

  • 5 of 5

The full kitchen was wonderful to have! We walked to the beach everyday! It was so great to have a wagon/cart to haul the sand toys, chairs, and other stuff to the beach. The beds were comfortable. Loved the hammock and outside shower. We had a great stay! We will definitely be back!

Peaceful, Charming, Comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I fell in love with Wrightsville Beach staying here! This is the perfect place to stay to get a real feel for this cute beach town. It is located on a quiet and upscale cul-de-sac steps from the intercostal where you can use the 3 kayaks or easily walk to the beach (3 minutes walk). We invited another family to kayak with us and all six of us (4 adults, 2 children) were able to fit on the three kayaks for a sunset paddle and had a blast. The next day, my son and I rode to the beach to hunt for sea shells while my husband was working- we all loved this place!

The rental is very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds are incredibly comfortable and there were plenty of towels and a well stocked kitchen. I love that the linens are included and that the coffee pot and filters are provided! The easiest check in and check out experience we have had with VRBO to date. Excellent owners. Very kind and accommodating.
