About Bill Hayne

Hello, I am Bill. Live in Denver, Play in grand Lake :)

Bill Hayne purchased this house in 2005

Why Bill Hayne chose Grand Lake

We built this house in 2005. We designed it and put our heart and soul into it. We lived here for 2 years and had our second child here. Then we made a family decision to move to Denver. We rented this house out long term for a while and now we have decided to go with VRBO. We love Grand Lake for all the things it offers everyone. The small town atmosphere make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. The beauty of the area regardless of the season makes it a great mini vacaton spot for our family. Winter activies such as snowmobiling, cross country skiing, sledding, ice skating, ice fishing. Summer activies are endless.

What makes this house unique

This large clean house is nesteled on the edge of the Rocky Mountain National Forest. The views from the decks are spectacular. The backyard has a great climbing rock for the kids and a very shallow creek goes by. There are so many wildlife to look for on your visit from moose to foxes. 10 minutes from the national forest entrance, great for hiking. The house is only 1.5 miles from town. Since it backs up to the national forest it is also a snowmobile in/out property. Snowmobile right out of the driveway to the national forest snowmobile trails...or if you need to go to town to get some milk, the town in snowmobile friendly during winter. During the summer you can rent bikes in town.

Nice place. Close to the Winding River Ranch

  • 5 of 5

We came to Grand Lake for a wedding at the Winding River Ranch. The house was nice and only about a mile away from the Ranch. Everything was well maintained. The town was also a short drive away. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Great location and property

  • 4 of 5

Great location and option for a large group. The one downside was that the place is in need of more thorough cleaning but overall, would recommend.

Great location. Slept 12 comfortably.

  • 5 of 5

We had a mini-family reunion in Grand Lake and this house was perfect! 8 adults and 4 children were all very comfortable here. The kids spent hours playing ping pong. We had a camp fire each night and made s'mores. A mother moose and her calf spent an evening feasting on the bushes right behind the house. The location was perfect!

The place was beautiful.

  • 3 of 5

We had plenty of room and enjoyed the deck with our morning coffee.

The problem we had was that we had 4 towels to share with 9 people, suggest you bring your own in the future. The downstairs was cold for sleeping, no heat for them at night.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. I do apologize about the lack of towels, certainly not the protocol. As for the heat, not sure what happened. Spoke with the group prior and had the cleaning staff check on it after your stay and both confirmed that it works? I do my best to be available to my guests to answer questions and or resolve problems. I think both situations could have been resolved with a phone call.....
