This beautiful Gulf-access, pool home is situated on an oversized corner lot on the Capri Canal. Located in a quiet neighborhood with no thru traffic, this roomy, gorgeous 3 BR + Den / 2 bath offers an open floor plan with volume ceilings, and large windows to really let in the sunlight and tropical views. Complementing the open feeling are deluxe details including crown moldings, ceramic tile floors set on the diagonal, etched-glass doors and granite counters.
Feel like a millionaire in the Deluxe Master Suite. Measuring about 700 sq.ft./50 sq.m. it has a walk-in tiled shower (big enough for company), separate garden tub, dual sinks/vanities, a separate toilet room, and walk-in closet. Of course, it includes a huge, tropically themed bedroom with a King-size bed. The stereo CD clock radio includes an iPod dock, with an Old-Time-Radio CD collection in the drawer below. The bedroom has direct access to the pool area.
Enjoy the a beautiful view of the pool, canal and surroundings from the Queen bedroom with its direct access to the pool. Get into the beach mood in the shell-decorated Twin Bedroom, which is separated from the Queen bedroom by the second bathroom. The Den/Game Room has its own HDTV. a game table with games and a desk with an ancient, sloooow laptop computer (recommended: bring your own). This room also has a futon with linens.
All pillows, mattresses and even the box springs have dust-mite and bedbug-proof covers. We don't have the the bugs, and we don't want them.
Adjacent to the dining room with its scalloped-glass-topped table is the exceptionally well-stocked Granite and Stainless Steel kitchen. The list of electrical appliances includes an iced-tea maker, a griddle, a George Foreman grill, a crock pot, blender, toaster and a stand/hand mixer to complement the full set of stainless pots and pans. The content of the spice cabinet varies, depending on what we and our guests have used and contributed. The coffee section includes a filter coffee maker, Kuerig, and a coffee grinder. For espresso fans, there is a steam-type espresso maker for the more adventurous beginners and a 15 Bar machine for the experienced.
Relax on a lounger in the huge, screen-enclosed sun deck, or in the shade of the lanai with overhead fan. Or just float or swim in the heated pool with its planters and tranquil spillover water feature. Read a book from our library, or make a quick lunch with the gas grill with multiple burners, plus a side burner for warming. The Lanai includes a ceramic-topped table with six chairs.
Enjoy your evenings outside or in the Great Room with one of our books, or use the video library with the HDTV with surround sound, cable, DVD player and VCR. Or play your own videos or tunes through the iPod dock. For a change of pace, spend some time in the Den/Game Room.
Keep in touch with free WiFi with wireless printer, or use one of the cordless phones with free long distance service to the US and Canada.
And, of course, two sets of linens, washer & dryer and garage with opener.
When you have had enough relaxation, try the elliptical machine. There are also fishing rods in the garage, and the brackish-water canal on the back edge of our property has produced catfish, salt-water fish and the occasional manatee sighting.

We bought our home in the summer of 2010. Located in the highly desirable Surfside Area of Southwest Cape Coral, it has been completely refurbished. We spent months furnishing and decorating it. Now we have decided to rent it seasonally during the times that we are not there. Because we use this as a second home, you will find that it has everything you need to feel as if you were at home. We do not treat the home as a rental and the condition and amenities will surprise you.
One difference between a house and a home is the little things you don't miss until you need them: Paper clips. Flashlight. Pliers and screwdrivers (even the eyeglass size). Note pads. Pens and pencils. Batteries, battery tester and charger. A desk. Spare toothbrush. Spare reading glasses. Espresso machines. Cutting boards. Beach things (wheeled cart, towels, umbrella, chairs, mats, coolers, etc), and lots more.

About the owner: We are retired professionals from Belleville, IL, 15 miles SE of St. Louis. Although we continue to travel, we enjoy just relaxing in our Cape Coral home. We chose Cape Coral because of the location, the friendliness of the people, access to the Gulf and the winter temperature, which is among the warmest on Gulf coast.
Why the Owner Chose Pelican, Cape Coral, FL, USA:
We bought our home in the summer of 2010. Located in the highly desirable Surfside Area of Southwest Cape Coral, it was completely refurbished, but empty. We spent all Fall furnishing and decorating it, and still are not finished. An important reason for choosing this property is the beautiful tropical view from the lanai, pool deck and king and queen bedrooms. Another is the attractive but practical ceramic tile floor (set on the diagonal) in all of the open areas, plus carpet in the bedrooms. Our son likes to call this his 'Southern office'. He will set up his laptop on the lanai table, and spend a week conducting business while enjoying the view. His favorite treat is grilling a slab of fresh grouper bought form Merrick Seafood or from one of the fishermen on Pine Island Road in Matlacha. Use our fishing equipment in the brackish water canal just beyond the pool. You won't catch grouper, but these brackish waters are reported to be home to most of the fish found in the Gulf.

Good privacy, great view, incredibly well furnished with almost anything you might need to make you feel you are guests in our home...because you are! The decor is an eclectic mix of old Florida, contemporary accents, bits of whimsey and artwork produced by family members. The pool deck has sun all year around. The large shelf just inches below the pool's water surface is a great place to keep cool while sunning. Fishing from the concrete seawall is almost always productive, especially if you like to catch catfish.
