Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 7-8)

This Art Deco beauty with pool and hot tub has 3 bedrooms, with 3 baths, perfect for 3 couples, or two couples w/children! TWO complete master suites! The lower master has a queen bed, a separate walled off sleeping area with beds for children or an extra guest or two, and a huge wall of windows looking out over the glittering blue pool. The upper master has it's very own HUGE 100% private rooftop sundeck, perfect for sunbathing in walled seclusion. Both masters have private, en-suite bathrooms w/walk-in showers. Smaller third bedroom, perfect for children or couple, has own large bathroom across the hall, with seafoam green Art Deco deep soaking tub/shower combo, and lots of counter space. Tiled Art Deco kitchen with large center island lets you spread out while cooking. Brand new refrigerator w/own icemaker for those cocktails out by the pool. Two large living rooms! Two dining areas, one formal, one breakfast area. House has high chair and porta-crib for our littlest guests. We welcome families!

Lounge around by the gem-like swimming pool with your favorite summer drink in the sunny, green back yard, or spend the evening socializing with friends or family in the brand new hot tub with massage jets. Complete and total privacy in the large backyard, with raised barbecue and dining pavilion, for those sweet summer barbecues by the pool.

This private, 2 story villa on a quiet, tranquil lane that backs to large green fields is the perfect oasis to come home to and relax after a full day of wine tasting or exploring. It feels secluded, yet is close to everything: 5 minutes from downtown restaurants and theatres, even closer to major and gourmet grocery stores. In the morning, walk one short block to the 'Cafe De Croissant' and it's piping hot buttery creations, or a little further to Starbucks. Or cook up a huge breakfast in this well-stocked modern kitchen.

There are major wine roads in all directions from the house: 10 min. to the south is the verdant Sonoma Valley, with it's lush vineyards and stately old oaks. Stop in at Ledson Winery incredible Gothic castle for a picnic from their deli on their beautiful grounds, take in the serene French chateau at St. Francis Winery, or go underground into the wine caves of Kunde.

Ten min. to the north on Hwy 1 is the quaint town of Healdsburg, with it's charming Victorian square, tasting rooms, shops, Zagat rated restaurants, and the hopping off point for the Dry Creek Valley wine road, with dozens of award winning boutique wineries, and the fabulous gardens out at the villa at Ferrari-Carrano Winery, always worth a visit. Or head NW to Calistoga, the starting point for Napa's famed Silverado Wine Trail. Relax in this Victorian town's mud baths and sparkling hot springs!

Or head out to the redwoods, only 20 minutes away, and do 'the Loop': stop in at the last of the free tasting rooms, Korbel Champagne Cellars, and savor gourmet sandwiches under the Redwoods in their outdoor cafe, with a glass of bubbly or your favorite microbrew. Then stop for a leisurely, level stroll at Armstrong Redwoods State Park, easy for non-hikers, and gaze at 350 ft. tall giants along fern-filled streams. After that, it's only about 15 min. to our wild Sonoma Coast, with it's famed coves an bluffs and many beautiful beaches. After a day at the beach, go south, and stop in for wine tasting on the sundeck of Gourmet au Bay, or watch the sun set eating huge fried oysters or other seafood in the picture window of Lucas Wharf Restaurant in Bodega Bay. Turn back in to the little town of Bodega, where Hitchcock's 'The Birds' was filmed, and if the shops are still open, go antiquing. Then it's home through Sebastopol (and maybe a stop at Screamin' Mimi's Ice Cream), back to Santa Rosa and that waiting hot tub!

Why Aurora Gieseking chose Sonoma County

I fell in love with Sonoma County in 2007, drawn by the beauty and tranquility of its Sonoma Valley; it was the perfect place to get away from the noise and bustle of San Francisco. I come here to relax and rewind.

What makes this house unique

I love that my property is so close to everything (restaurants, downtown, the gorgeous wine valley appellations in every direction), yet feels so private and secluded. I can truly relax here, behind the high white walls and in my sunny, private backyard. It's quiet, and it's serene.

Great rental. Great Location. Great Owner.

  • 5 of 5

Aurora did an outstanding job welcoming our group to Sonoma County including going above and beyond with a cake and wine for our celebration. The entire property was excellent and allowed us to feel as though we were at home. The patio space, pool, and hot tub were also great add-ons to the experience; allowing us to enjoy the excellent weather. The owner had the right amenities to make us feel as though we were at home, thinking of everything, the entire time - including a cooler for our travels around wine country. Space was excellent for three couples to each have a bathroom and full bedroom. We will be back!

Aurora was a excellent host, everything was perfect. Close to shopping yet felt like you were out in the country. Lots of windows, very open and airy with good window coverings when needed at night. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Overall a very comfortable stay, would rent again.

Fabulous house!!

  • 5 of 5

What a fabulous house with a beautiful pool and gardens, with windows that allow you to enjoy them even while you're inside.

The floor plan allows for plenty of privacy if you need it, and many areas to gather if that's what you prefer. The kitchen was well stocked, and the beds the most comfortable I've slept in outside my home.

Great location, and a wonderful owner who always replied quickly to answer any questions we had.

Thank you Aurora for sharing your home.

Really fun property in great location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Art Deco Villa! In celebration of our daughter's birthday, 6 of us - family and friends - came to the Napa/Sonoma area for wine tasting, great food, and relaxation. The Art Deco Villa was the perfect home base for us. The layout of the house is perfect for a group. There are multiple areas where people can sit and multiple dining areas as well. There are 3 "real" bedrooms, and additional sleeping space for more people. The private pool and hot tub out back are well maintained, and the water was sparkling. The hot tub was cold on our arrival, but that was because it had just been cleaned and refilled. Within a couple of hours, it was at a piping hot 103 degrees. The kitchen is roomy, allowing for multiple people to cook and prep without falling over each other. It also was well supplied with dishes, glasses, pots and pans, and stocked with lots of helpful staples that made meal preparation easy and fun. There’s a gas grill out back in the pool area that we made use of for a couple of dinners. We also enjoyed hearing the gobbling of the turkey next door. The most fun thing about the house, though, is the décor. It’s a cool mixture of Art Deco (as promised), 60s vintage cabinetry, and other eclectic items that somehow all come together in a comfortable, inviting, and enjoyable home base. The location is excellent for travels throughout Sonoma, and Napa is a scenic 45 to 50 minute drive over the ridge. I highly recommend this property!
