run down studio in a good location
Location was really nice, right on the Lake Mary road that leads to the lakes and close to the Village. The condo community was quiet and pleasant.
However, this was probably one of the worst rentals I had stayed at through many years of using Homeaway/Airbnb. It is really tiny (don't be misled by the "1 bedroom" in the summary description), it's truly a studio. There is no real bed, just a full size futon, daybed and trundle. Two kids would probably be comfortable on the futon, but it was too short and uneven for me and my husband who are both average height. I had to move out to the daybed which had a soft mattress with a depression in the middle. There was a large number of very thin blankets/throws. We had to pile up 5 at a time. It was nice that there were enough to keep us warm, but it would be much easier if they were all replaced with normal warm comforters.
There is a small balcony, but you can't get to it because it is completely blocked by the heavy daybed. The space right outside the door, under the stairs is pretty large and would double as a patio with a pleasant surrounding if the management put some patio furniture there for the summer. We were taking out the chairs and had our meals outside.
There are only 2 chairs plus 2 bar stools that were too high for the table to be comfortable even for our 10 year old daughter.
Most pots were decent, except for one glass one that was chipped, which made it too dangerous to use. All the pans (teflon) were very scratched and need to be replaced.
The plates and utensils were not well washed and had dried up food on some of them. The handle on the toaster was broken. The bathtub had dust bunnies on it, as well as some ugly, peeling off decals. There was no WiFi. Overall, an outdated, run down rental with major improvements needed.
The rental agent I spoke with over the phone was really nice, but do not expect them to answer your e-mails like a private owner would. You pretty much need to call to get a response on time.
Studio condo was in perfect location for just about anything in Mammoth, lifts, town, and the village. Not quite within in walking distance for me, but very short drives.
The studio itself was just right for one or two people. It was very clean and included all that one would expect, small kitchen, microwave, TV, etc. Bath towels provided were quite nice and beds were reasonably comfortable, futon and daybed.
The unit's heater a little on the anemic side, but wood burning fireplace added both atmosphere and enough heat to keep it warm.
With its easy access to lifts and town I will most definitely stay here again when coming to Mammoth to ski.
The biggest complaint is the comfort of the beds. Other than that it was fine.
Close to the village and gondola. Worked well for us. Only negative was comfort of the beds.
