Beautifully Appointed Cottage with Lagoon View, Short Stroll to Beach, private

This intimate, comfortable cottage is pristine and crisp and begs for you to relax. It is a second home - all you need to pack are your personal items.It has a beautiful lagoon and sunset view from the screened porch and deck. The deck has been expanded to provide room to enjoy the long lagoon view. There is a table suitable for dining on the screened in porch. The deck with the lagoon view was enlarged in Jan, 2014, The cottage was modified when it was built to offer an extra wall of windows which brings the lovely tropical setting even closer to our guest. There is patio furniture and a gas grill which are great for chilling out after a day on the beach. The lagoon attracts some interesting birds and wildlife - a haven for admiring nature. The beach is about a 7 minute walk from the cottage. On route to the beach is a pool which guests of the Greenslake Cottages have access to with no charge. This upscale cottage was completely remodeled in 2006- hardwood floors, granite counters.The open den and dining room combination have a panoramic view of the lagoon through the sliding glass doors and windows. Equipped with wifi , color hi def TV with DVR, DVD, and stereo/CD in the den. The well equipped kitchen has been enlarged with an eat on bar and has ample space for a gourmet chef to do their magic.

Ceiling fans are in the den, and each bedroom to provide added cooling along with the central HVAC after a day on the beach. Solar tubes bring extra light into the baths and kitchen area

The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed with a shutter head board . The mattress just begs you to sleep late. There is an en suite bath with large tiled walk in shower off of the master. There is a 32" TV in the master bedroom. A sliding door offers light and a lagoon view.

The restful guest bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed and a bath with tub + shower. There is a small TV in this bedroom as well. Plantation shutters in this bedroom enhance the cottage atmosphere.

The cottage has central air and heat and has plantation ceiling fans in both bedrooms in addition to the screen porch and den.

The cottage is in the West Beach area at the end of a cul de sac, which provides privacy and quietness. It has a canopy of a beautiful live oak tree that frames the cottage entrance. The Straw Market is just a short walk as is the lovely hard packed sand beach.

Amenities: Fully furnished enlarged gourmet kitchen with ceramic top stove, dishwasher, drip coffee maker and toaster oven, pantry to store groceries, refrigerator with ice maker.

Full size washer and dryer.

3 cable TVs- one in den is hi def with DVR and DVD, stereo, , CD player . The bedrooms have radio alarm clocks.

All linens/towels and beach towels are provided along with 2 beach chairs and a large beach umbrella.This cottage was not furnished with young children in mind.l

We live close to Kiawah and are close by in case our guest have needs. We are also able to keep our cottage in pristine condition to be sure our guest feel the wonderful "vacation feeling". Beautiful cottage, great location, immaculate.

My hubby and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at this cozy cottage. It was everything we expected and more. Even more cozy in person, even more comfortable than it looks.

I wish we could have stayed much longer. It was so quiet and nice. The walk to the beach was nothing, really. We loved watching the birdies out on the back porch. What a treat when we got to see a Blue Heron in the back yard. There were so many personal touches, the kitchen was very well equipped. It was wonderful, relaxing and I would go again in a heart beat.

Great cottage rental on Kiawah Island

The Garris' home is an immaculately, well-maintained cottage. In the past, we had stayed further into the island, but we loved this location on a quiet cul-de-sac easily accessible to the main gate. Plus, walking casually, you are at the beach in less than ten minutes.The cottage is comfortably decorated. The kitchen is a dream and better stocked than mine @ home. We enjoyed the openness between the kitchen, dining and den. The bedrooms provided a great night's sleep after a day of walking, biking or touring. The screened porch was my designated reading space because of the light and air circulation while the deck was great for grilling. Both of these areas provide a view of the lagoon and the activity at the bird feeder. Ann and Hollis are delightful hosts and make renting from them a joy! I am certain we will return in the future. Beautiful and serene

My husband and I spent a week during Christmas in this beautiful cottage; it was very well appointed and peaceful. After a busy day sightseeing in Charleston it was wonderful to come back to a serene environment. The lagoon is a great draw for wildlife and we enjoyed feeding the birds. At one point we witnessed a Great Blue Heron fighting with an Anhinga over a fish; the heron won. Another time six deer ran through the back of the property. The owners have done a great job stocking the cottage with all the things anyone would need and were absolutely fantastic to work with. Our son and his wife had a destination wedding at First Baptist in Charleston 10 years ago so one of the most memorable things we did was attend the Christmas Eve service there. We also went on an historical walking tour of Charleston through Bulldog Tours which was great. Our guide suggested the restaurant, Toast, for lunch and I had the best she-crab soup I've ever tasted. Other restaurants we enjoyed were Sunrise Bistro and Charleston Crab House (James Island location). Since both our fathers were World War II veterans the day we spent on the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point was very meaningful. I have already recommended this property to anyone thinking about visiting the Charleston area.

Quiet, comfortable, cozy... perfect!

This cottage is located in a wonderfully quiet and serene part of the island not far from the entrance/main guard gate, near the Cougar Point golf course. We have stayed on Kiawah Island for the past 25 years in a variety of locations, and this spot is ideal for easy access into/out of the island. I was concerned at first that a location so close to the entrance, and the steady flow of traffic that brings, would be a potential noise factor, but it was not! Sleeping soundly was definitely not an issue here. The cottage is adjoined (in town home fashion) to other homes, but it is an end-of-group. The owners, Ann and Hollis, have done a wonderful job in modernizing and updating their home, which has a very comfortable and "homey" feel to it. In fact, it feels less like a "rental" home than many of the others we've stayed at. The beds are very comfortable, as are the balance of the appointments in the home. The kitchen is nicely stocked with everything you'll need, if you choose to eat-in. This is a 2 bedroom/2 bath home with king/queen beds. It's not what you might see in other 2 bedroom rentals - with pull out sofa beds, etc. for groups up to 6+. It's suited for 1 to 4 visitors only, as advertised. Because Kiawah is really about the outdoors and natural surroundings, the cottage's rear orientation to a pond and mature trees is particularly nice. There's a screened porch and adjoining deck for outdoor relaxation. Ocean access is a short bike ride or spirited stroll away - at approximately 1/2 mile. We had a comfortable and relaxing stay here. Ann is very kind and gracious owner, and was a pleasure to work with. Thank you, Ann, and we hope to return sometime soon.

Goldens bridge

Fabulous cottage

This property is very well located. It was immaculate. It was very bright and cheerful and felt like home. I only wish the weather had been a little warmer for me to enjoy the back porch area (overlooking the lake). Can't wait to stay here again.

Wonderful Cottage and Gracious Hosts

This is a wonderful cottage - all of the furnishings are top quality. I especially appreciated the high quality bathroom fixtures and towels. Everything was comfortable and well maintained. And a special note of gratitude to Ann in helping us work thru an alternate vacation plan when the area was deluged by heavy rains - she was very supportive and helpful. I would highly recommend this cottage for your visit to Kiawah Island.

We are Charlestonians who have enjoyed Kiawah for many years. Hollis sells real estate on the island and Ann is a retired nurse now tour guide for the city. We love to share the local secrets with our guest and are close by should you need something. As we live only 30 minutes away in Charleston , we personally manage our cottage with a hands on approach. We strive to have it perfect for our guest as vacations are so important to us all.

Love the quietness of this area and the close proximity to the beach. Being in the West beach makes a trip into Charleston a much shorter adventure. We are an end cottage in a cul de sac and have a wonderful open view of the lagoon. It is perfect in every way for the guest who is here to enjoy nature, the beach , and an afternoon in Charleston or maybe short bike ride to the market at Freshfield Village . The quietness of our area allows our guest to listen to the birds and relax - even if here for just for a short while.

What makes this cottage unique

Best lagoon view in the area. Easy walk to the beach and the new (2018 ) Clubhouse with restaurant at the Cougar Point Golf Course . Great for watching nature and relaxing. Quiet, Quiet and Quiet !

Most of our guest are folks who return to us year after year because most people do not like surprises on their vacation. Our cottage was not designed or equipped for young children... so be mindful that we collect and hold a separate $500 refundable damage deposit . Our guest pay us (the owners) direct with a personal check or eCheck for the cottage rental .
Weeks that have holidays may be priced differently. We prefer to rent for 7 days periods. If visits are less than 7 days an additional cleaning fee of $80 is charged. If a guest is staying with us for less than 7 days the entire amount is paid in one check within 7 days of the reservation. Holiday weeks may be different rental rates.We prefer to talk/or text directly with our guest prior to confirming a reservation . Ann's cell is ( 843-224-7817 )
