About Kris Rogers

We are semi-retired professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area. Kris was a Radiologic Technologist and Don was an Engineering Project Manager. We were attracted to the beauty and tranquility of the area.

Kris Rogers purchased this house in 2010

Why Kris Rogers chose Yosemite Area

Our honeymoon was in Yosemite and we have shared a love of this area. We loved the open concept, exposed wood beam ceiling in the living room, the slate floors, and granite counter tops. We saw the potential in this property from the immediate yard area to the more remote areas that are picturesque and great for future development.

What makes this house unique

We love looking at our mountain view, the beautiful sunsets, and the visiting wildlife. While drinking coffee on our covered patio we enjoy watching the hummingbirds. Evenings are enjoyed with a glass of wine while relaxing on the swing bed under the covered pergola. Other activities include working on the property, hiking, riding bicycles, ATVs, and motorcycles.

Great Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Howling Wolf while visiting Yosemite. Everything about the lodge was wonderful! The location is near Yosemite (about 50 min - hour) drive to the entrance. After a long day at the park, we came back and enjoyed their outdoor amenities. My son especially enjoyed bocce ball. We had a party of 5 and had PLENTY of room. Kris was very easy to work with in reserving her lodge. I would highly recommend. Thanks for sharing your lovely home.

The property was well maintained, relaxing, beautiful views and a vacation in itself!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I wanted a family vacation with our adult kids and grandkids. We wanted to go to Yosemite and enjoy that together. But, wanted a place to have fun together and keep everyone of all ages entertained on the off days....we found that in Howling Wolf Lodge. I don't think there is anything they really haven't thought of to make the guest feel like they are home. Large, accommodating, outdoor games to get everyone out and active to board games for the kids. All those little extra things I packed for the family, I found there. They've thought of everything! Not one person in our group was unhappy. Many times there was people playing badminton, Bocce ball, golf, and toad watching in the little pond all at the same time. So nice to see everyone having a great time. Kris answered all questions so promptly and if she was full of information. We will definitely be back. If we had never left the house, the fun and family time we had together there in itself was priceless. Great memories made. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.

Funland!

  • 5 of 5

I usually don't write reviews cuz I'm kinda lazy. But I'll do it this time cuz I really liked this place. Everyone in our big group did! The interior was spacious and open with high ceiling and beautiful wood panel walls. There were plenty of games both inside and outside of the house to keep everyone engaged. The place was in great shape and it had everything we needed. There was no need to contact the owners during our stay. The house was surrounded by nature with nice views and no visible neighbors. Kris (the owner) was very professional, accommodating, and prompt in responding to our emails. Thank you for sharing your place with us, Kris!

Howling Wolf Lodge is a great vacation retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our first trip to the Yosemite area and our stay at Howling Wolf Lodge! The house is spacious and comfortable and we had everything we needed during our one week stay. We loved the beautiful drive to Yosemite through Mariposa and highway 140. The scenery at Yosemite is breathtaking and with all the snow melt the late spring waterfalls were magnificent. We did a half day rafting trip on the Merced and had a blast! We also took a day trip to Kings Canyon and Sequoyah National Parks and it was worth the drive! Loved the giant trees and even saw a bear (from a distance thankfully:).

We had six people In our group; my husband, myself, two teenage daughters and their two friends. We had plenty of space inside and loved the bocce court, putting green and badminton outside. The coolers provided by the owners were much appreciated for our daily picnics on long scenic hikes. I can't think of anything we missed out on during our trip and will recommend Howling Wolf Lodge to everyone I know!

Amazing Lodge!

  • 5 of 5

We had the most incredible family vacation at the Howling Wolf Lodge for my parents 50th Anniversary. This was a very special occassion and the place was spectacular! We stayed for almost a full week from May 10-15th and there were 8 of us. It had all the ammenities of our home plus so much more. There was an abundance of outdoor and indoor games for kids/family, gorgeous view, quiet surroundings, huge kitchen, 4 bedrooms (comfy beds), luxurious spa bath, giant living room and so much more!! We felt like we were staying in Yosemite with all the beautiful trees and mountains...breath-taking! We had the most epic games of badminton and bocce ball- too fun!

The owners were really prompt to respond to any questions prior to our arrival and our deposit was credited back immediately after our stay. We couldn't have picked a better place. Our parents were so impressed and felt pampered :) We will be back and continue to tell everyone about the amazing experience. Thank you for all the wonderful memories! - McKillips, Gardner and Botkin family

Once inside the gate it is another 10 minutes to the valley floor. The drive to the Hwy 41 Yosemite south gate takes 30 minutes. Our favorite hikes are The Mist Trail, Sentinel Dome, and Glacier Point trail down to the Valley Floor.
