If you choose, there are four bikes available to ride through Ville Grande and Monte Rio.
You won’t want to leave your stunning get-away but don't miss all the area has to offer! Travel 10 minutes to Jenner where the Russian River empties into the Pacific Ocean to enjoy world-class, breath-taking vistas and visit the nesting grounds of California's harbor seals at Jenner. Check the tides for outstanding tide pooling, and/or watch the whales frolic off shore from Bodega Head. Identify some or all of those beautiful birds! Catch the sunset from the beach or from the restaurant that overlooks the mouth of the Russian River.
Golf at Northwood Course (5 mins away), an Alister MacKenzie design in one of the most uniquely striking settings in golf, and you can walk it for $27 in prime time on weekdays.

About Catherine Giacalone
We are educators. I also volunteer as a docent for the Sonoma County Park and Recreation Department. I speak to visitors, local school children and adults about migrating and local whales, tide pools and abundant wild life in the area. We would like visitors to enjoy our cottage as we have. The river has a remarkable calming effect.

A nature retreat from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area
A great getaway from the Bay Area, really accessible. It's the perfect nature retreat with river, ocean, and mountains within minutes. We had a lovely time at the cottage.
Cozy and comfy
Great home base for our mother-daughter getaway. Kayaking, swimming in the river, horseback riding and great food all in easy reach. The wifi was a lifesaver since cell coverage is so hard to find in the area. We difinitely need to come back and enjoy the gorgeous deck when the weather is sunnier. My 9 year old says, "It was one of the best vacations I've ever had!"
44th Anniversary getaway
Loved the Cottage on the River! It was perfect for our celebratory getaway! Loved that it was close to Bodega Bay, Jenner, Clalistoga. Ken and I had a peaceful, relaxing stay. Thank you Catherine for allowing us to enjoy you lovely cottage. Ken and Maria
Beautiful property! We enjoyed our stay and would book again. Thank you!
Beautiful View, Private & Comfy!
We really enjoyed our stay here, so much so that we wished to stay longer!!! The place is spacious and quite comfortable, especially the king size bed!!! The decks are huge, it was so quiet and peaceful to hang out on!!! We really enjoyed the wild life and the two beaches a short walk away! The Russian River is amazing. I highly recommend the 10 mile canoe/kayak trip down the river. We went to Burke's, they are very reasonable and pick you up when you are done!
Great river front vacation home!
My husband and I celebrated my birthday weekend in this lovely home. The rain did not lesson our wonderful and relaxing stay. The home had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable.
Golf at Northwood Course, take in the panoramic views from high above the ancient Redwood forest on the Zip line in Occidental Zip - 15 minutes away. Fifteen minutes from where the Russian River empties into the pacific ocean. Stunning vistas. You are right in the heart of the Sonoma wine country. Visit Francis Ford Coppola's new winery or Preston organic winery. Catch a hot air balloon ride, or visit the Charles Schultz museum - reconnect with Peanuts!
