About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + 1 Bath, Kitchen and Living Area (Sleeps 2-4)

This beautifully renovated historic 1937 Firehouse has been converted into a one of a kind vacation rental unit. The Inn was carefully remodeled so as to keep the old charm of the firehouse but also provide all the modern comforts you expect. This spacious private unit is ideal for honey moons, anniversaries, wedding parties or it's just a wonderful place to come to rejuvenate.

The Inn is located in the charming 1853 historic waterfront district of the town of Coupeville, 1/2 a block from the town wharf, surrounded by quaint shops, great restaurants and the County Museum. From its lovely balcony you have great views of old town, 11,000' high Mount Baker and the waters of Penn Cove.

Life Magazine in 2008 put out a special travel magazine 'Dream Destinations: 100 of the World's Best Vacation Destinations' and Whidbey Island was one of them. You can spend days exploring Whidbeys five state parks, a national historic reserve, charming water front towns, wineries, beaches, and history dating back before the founding of Seattle or you can take day trips to the San Juan Islands, Seattle, Olympic National Park or North Cascade National Park in the beautiful Cascade Mountains.

Please come and enjoy our beautiful island with us and stay in the comfort of the Coupeville Firehouse Inn.

Verry unique!

My Bride and I hade a very relaxing and enjoyable time at this very unique down town flat. Before being nicely repurposed into this lovely flat it was the actual fire house for the town, .... so cool if you like that sort of stuff like me. Coupeville is a fun little town we enjoyed walks and dinner out as well as making a feast of our own in the nicely appointed kitchen.

Great downtown apartment

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I spent three nights at this wonderful little get away in late summer. We were met by the very friendly and knowledgable property manager (Daniel) who made us feel at home right away. The apartment is directly above the tourist information office and just one block back from the waterfront. We had a very quiet time. The place is reasonably equipped for a holiday let. If you enjoy gourmet cooking like we do, you may find the pots and pans not quite adequate. All in all a very pleasant retreat for a couple to spend a few relaxing nights with quick walks to the pub and local restaurants. Look forward to visiting again.

Nice but bring earplugs.

  • 3 of 5

Wonderful unit with great people watching decks. Very clean and well appointed. Easy check in. The only bad thing is the Community Center right next door. If there is an event it's loud, even with all the doors and windows closed, and when you stay at the beach why do you want to have all the windows closed? During our stay there were events both Friday and Saturday night with dj's/music that went late into the night.

excellent in all ways!

We stayed at the Firehouse Inn for a long weekend celebrating our anniversary. The tasteful renovated apartment, amenities (full kitchen, outdoor deck, comfy bed, wifi) and friendly proprietor, along with location, location, location made for a perfect, relaxing get away! Can't wait to return!

Perfect anniversary night away from kiddos!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a romantic night away from our kiddos and we were pleased to find it exactly as advertised. It was perfect, right in the heart of beautiful Coupeville, so we were able to park the car outside and not get in it again until we left. The place was clean, in great shape, and had just about everything you need. We did not bring our kids this time, but they would have done well there. FYI if you were to bring small children there is no bath tub only a standing shower.

Perfectly appointed stay in Coupeville

  • 5 of 5

I called at the last minute -- needed a weekend away to write, paint, and just be. I found the Firehouse Inn on Thursday and was on my way Friday evening to stay the weekend. Dan, the manager, was extremely helpful. I planned to take a late ferry to the island and he was happy to leave a key for me. He even called the next day to make sure I'd made it to the Firehouse Inn.

The accommodations were perfect...beautiful old hardwood floors, exposed beams in the ceiling, ample living spaces and a darling bathroom. All in all a great space for a weekend away. The bed was comfortable and cozy.

I would highly recommend a stay at the Firehouse Inn.
