About Julie Jacobs

I am retired, with experience in the Bed and Breakfast area and in historic restoration. I love having guests at the cabin and always go out of my way to make everyone welcome

Julie Jacobs purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Julie Jacobs chose Gold Country & High Sierra

This area is beautiful, cool in summer with mild winters and much less snow than at higher elevations. It is a true alpine environment without the disadvantages of long or severe winters. It is close to many wineries and to skiing but is not in a developed community and so is very private and peaceful. There are no visible neighbors.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is spacious, with great sunsets and views but completely accessible. The trip to the cabin is spectacular in summer and winter. It is furnished with antiques, art, colorful textiles and down comforters. We want to make our guest completely comfortable. There is a completely equipped gourmet kitchen.

Beautiful, relaxing getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third trip to this cabin. We got engaged here, spent our honeymoon here and recently had our one year anniversary here... And brought along our new baby girl! We love this place. It's well appointed, quiet, cozy and relaxing! The view from the deck is gorgeous, especially at sunset! It's also located nice and close to the local wineries. We plan on going back every year! Highly recommended.

Second visit- wouldn't pick anywhere else!

  • 5 of 5

My sister and our golden retriever stayed for the second time during passport weekend. Love this rental, especially now with the new full fencing up allowing our dog to roam outside. Bed upstairs is so comfy and the place was again immaculately clean. Setting is quiet and has a rustic feeling although you are surrounded with a large deck, beautiful wood details, amazing fireplace, updated bathroom, and fully equipped kitchen. Price is excellent too!

Cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cabin! Many spaces to gather inside and outside. This property is in the woods and very private. It is 5 minutes away from one restaurant and 40 minutes away from Placerville (fun shops and restaurants and where the Gold Bug Mine is located.). Keep in mind that the roads that lead to the cabin are curvy.

Perfect family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for a place to gather with family for a relaxing weekend, get away from the city and just unwind. This is the perfect place for a quiet retreat! The cabin is fully equipped with absolutely everything and our family was so comfortable. We have 2 young children under five, a small dog, and even brought my parents along and everyone had the space we needed. The decor is delightful, the linens are elegant, and price is affordable. The views from the back deck with evening sunsets over the fall colored hillsides were incredible! We kept the fire roaring over our two-day which was such a treat. The cabin is close to hiking, wineries, farms and many other daytime adventures. Joyce was such a pleasure and answered every single question we had to make our stay perfect. Our family can't wait to come back this spring!

Serene cabin in the hills

  • 5 of 5

This was our second trip to this cabin, and have loved it each time. The porch at night is great - you can see lots of stars and the owner even puts out a bed so that you can lay outside underneath them. Owner is very friendly. Can't wait to go back.
