This 800 square foot waterview cottage offers the perfect getaway place for singles, couples, families, and groups of friends. It's fully equpped so you can settle in easily for a few days, a week or a month.
With your own kitchen, you can grab your morning coffee and plan out your day on the front porch. You can pack a picnic lunch and be gone all day at the shallow, sandy beach in town or at the gravel beach at the state park. The main road along the bay is a summer thoroughfare for walkers, bikers, and skaters. Bike and kayak rentals are available for those not bringing their own. Don't miss the C Shop for popcorn, ice cream and homemade candy!
The popular waterslides open mid-June as does the miniature golf/go-kart concession, both on the Birch Bay-Lynden Road coming in to town. The small local par 3 golf course is challenging. There are also several 18 hole courses nearby.
Semiahmoo Spit offers walking and biking surrounded by water and gorgeous sunsets at the end of the day. Blaine, 5 miles to the north, is the site of several summer weekend festivals. The Plover takes visitors for short rides between Blaine Harbor and Semiahmoo every summer weekend.
The weeklong Blaine Jazz Festival in mid-July provides opportunities to listen to free music daily as well as to attend evening performances by guest artists and the student musicians.
Farther afield, check out Bellingham, about 20 miles south, or Lynden to the east for antiquing and good Dutch cooking. Five miles north is the Canadian border--but be sure you have your passport or enhanced driver's license, needed to return to the US.
At the end of the day heat up the grill for a cookout at the cottage while the kids play in the big front yard. Several local restaurants serve family-friendly food near the water. Our family often does hot dogs at Semiahmoo Spit over an open fire or salmon on a grill at the state park.
This two bedroom, one bath cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, stack washer/dryer, satellite TV with DVD and VCR players, a gas log stove in the living area, lawn chairs, gas and charcoal grills, and beach toys for the kids. Sleeps four in beds with twin and queen airbeds available for more.
This cottage is two hours north of Seattle. The Canadian border is 15 minutes away. The public beach access is 5 minutes DRIVING time from the house. There is NO separate cleaning fee (see rates).

We live part of the year in WA and part in Texas. When we are in WA we enjoy coming to Birch Bay to slow down the pace and enjoy the many activities in the area. My grandkids love the time they spend here each year.
Jennifer Goe purchased this cottage in 2003
This small town, water-oriented place is a perfect getaway place. We never have enough time to explore all the neighboring towns and to go back to our many favorite places and activities.
We can do as much or as little as we want. We enjoy porch sitting--and walking, being at the beach, biking, kayaking, eating out and time in the small towns nearby.--and porch sitting.

We enjoyed our weekend stay at the Waterview Cottage. It is so warm & inviting...plus the nice view. It is a great location to visit near by Blaine, Lynden, Birch Bay, etc. The location is very peaceful & quiet. The view was equally nice at nice with all the lights glowing in the distance. We look forward to visiting again. The owner is very nice to deal with too.
This was a great place to stay! I agree with all the other reviews. I was struck by how solid the cabin is. The weather turned nasty at the end of the week, but the cabin stayed nice and warm. There were no noticeable drafts.
I also appreciated how Jennifer, the owner, worked with us when our plans changed. She responded quickly to the changes and was very accommodating.
We stayed for a weekend in June, 2013. The place was nicer than the pictures and seemed well taken care of. Renovations at some point were obvious. Very clean with a nice big front yard for the kids to play. Sitting on the patio and looking at the water was very relaxing.
The amenities were perfect. Some games for the kids in the second room, ketchup and mustard etc. in the fridge, washing machine and dryer, a small BBQ (with propane there) and fire pit for roasting marshmallows.
It was perfect for our stay and would be great for a longer stay. I'm keeping this one on my favorites lost and will very likely be staying there on all my future Birch Bay visits.
Great owner with very good communication.
Our family of 5 stayed here for a couple of nights. Very homely and cosy. Kids had plenty of space to play outside. Nice to sit in the sun and look out towards the bay. We would definitely go again.
This was a great home that I feel lucky to have found on short notice. I simply needed to get away from the stress of my life, but of course, I wanted a view and/or to be near the water, at a reasonable price, with only two weeks notice. This worked out perfectly. Jennifer was very easy to work with, and I very much enjoyed my time away. The photos and description of the property were accurate. I found the neighborhood to feel safe and only saw glimpses of a couple of neighbors during my 4 day stay. I did not find the bed to compare to my Tempurpedic, but what bed does? Otherwise, I found everything I needed, had no problems or surprises and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I would definitely consider this property again.
This little cottage is set in an ideal location. It is quiet, very clean, complete with DVD, a full kitchen, wood stove, and the best part, you are moments away from the quaint village of Birch Bay. Set in a tranquil neighborhood, the property is well maintained, and with its beautiful porch, a most relaxing time.
I am trying to think of a draw back, but, cannot.
