Great slice of New York!

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to stay, comfortable, all the amenities of home. Felt very safe here. Be sure to leave yourself some time to wander around the neighborhood. We did a little bit, but wish we had given ourselves more time. City College is close by, Alexander Hamilton's house, parks, churches (didn't know there were so many churches...and beautiful ones...in New York city). We never took the subway from here, but took Uber and Lyft and it was really convenient. Easy access to LaGuardia, too. When you first arrive, especially if it's at night, be sure to have a flashlight though so you can see the numbers on the lock box. Thank you, Darlyn, for having this beautiful brownstone available. (Oh, and to use the TV, make sure the modem is on. We never used the TV anyway because there's just too much to do!) We would definitely stay here again.

Quiet lovely, sweet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

It was lovely. Clean and comfortable. Very cool neighborhood. Alexander Hamilton's home is a 5 minute walk away. He's on Broadway for crying out loud! Who doesn't love that?

But seriously, we hope to comeback.

Nice stay.

  • 3 of 5

This apartment was fine. The lighting in the kitchen/living room area is much darker than in the pictures. At night the lighting wasn't really adequate for cooking. The bedroom was lovely and bright though. We cook a lot and found the kitchen was lacking in pots and pans. Could have used at least one more frying pan and one sauce pan. The bathroom was ok but the tub is quite old. At first glance it was not very inviting, but it was clean. The neighborhood is ok. Not a place I would want to stay if I was on vacation, but fine if you are there on business and don't plan on going out in the area at night. The subway was very convenient. If you plan on cooking a lot, the Fairway Market is great, but not walking distance if you have a lot of groceries to walk back with. We got an Uber back. The upstairs tenants were quite loud several nights in the wee hours of the morning, but overall the property is not bad for the price.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

It was a joy staying at Darlyn's brownstone. It was so clean and had everything we needed to make our stay so comfortable. Close to subway for easy commuting. There were great places to eat and have a late night beverage. We even found the best sweet potato pie and cookies around the corner. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

We had a wonderful time!

The apartment was very comfortable, it was very close to the subway. Staying there was almost like living in New York City -- so much better than staying in a hotel.

Wonderful and comfortable stay in NYC

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is so very comfortable we didn't want to leave. Perfect for our stay in NYC.

Comfortable bed, beautifully furnished and wonderful art. The transportation into midtown Manhattan was made easy by an express bus and a choice of two subway stops just a few blocks away. Uber to the upper West Side was under $10.00. Would definitely stay here again.
