Located at the Portofino Island Resort and Spa, this condo is in Tower 3 unit 2008, just one floor from being on the top! Newly decorated, our condo includes a stocked kitchen, 2 large beds with comforter and linen. Panoramic views with floor to ceiling windows. Adventure activities are available onsite like wave runners, paddle boards, inflatable water park and much more :) Removed from the traffic congestion that plagues popular Emerald Coast beaches, Portofino is uniquely situated between approximately 10 miles of stunning National Seashore to the east, the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Santa Rosa Sound (approximately 3 miles across) to the north, and 3-4 miles of predominately single family housing to the west. Portofino, therefore, offers an experience unlike any other on the Gulf Coast.

Amazing condo with a few minor problems
The condo is beautiful! Perfect view, nice and spacious. We were able to see the blue angels practice and show from the pool and the balcony. Every single person we came into contact with staff and guest were polite and kind. You never have to leave the resort to enjoy everything. I would absolutely stay at the resort and even in this condo again. Also the condo was very clean and no shady business. VERY VERY FAMILY FRIENDLY! My son is 7 and had a blast !
Now for the minor issues:
1. Tv in the 2nd bedroom does not work and is a very dated box tv and the remote is taped up to hold the batteries. I feel this is a fairly cheap issue to address so I’m not sure why it has not been since it was stated 3 years ago in another review.
2. Furniture very dated and uncomfortable.
In followup to a review from June, 2015 I would echo the sentiments of the previous renters. We have also rented at Portofino many times since 2006 when we lived here. Apparently the owners of this unit are unreachable or Portofino management doesn't care because the furniture in the living room continues to be worn, outdated, and VERY uncomfortable. The conch is sagging terribly and is not comfortable at all. The televisions (3 total) are circa-1994 and work about 70% of the time. The picture is fuzzy and the two of the remote controls are cracked with batteries that fall out unless you reapply the tape used to hold them in.
The balcony now has ZERO furniture on it. We called several times to the front desk to request some kind of outdoor furniture; response continued to be "we are working with owner relations and we'll get back with you". Phone calls each day but no response. It is very disappointing to have a huge, beautiful balcony that is not usable. This unit is NOT as advertised and I would recommend STAYING AWAY until a major update has been completed.
I'm not sure if it is just this unit or if the whole complex of units are starting to show their age. As always, the staff around the pool/bars/restaurants are wonderful, the beach is pristine, and the area is fantastic. Perhaps it is time to move on from Portofino.
Wasn't worth the money or discomfort....
My husband and I booked this condo in June 2015, having previously stayed at the Portofino four or five other times since 2007. The positives I can say about this condo are that the floors are all tile with no carpet and that the view from the balcony is good and has a clear view of the island direct to Navarre Beach without overlooking any other units, just the employee sand parking lot...a view which can only be seen from the inside if the mass collection of cheap flower arrangements are moved to a different location which we did immediately since we weren't using the extra bedroom. Upon arrival we initially felt we were in a Trees & Trends store or maybe a Rainforest Café....not beachy décor at all with all the aforementioned unnecessary fake floral arrangements EVERYWHERE and the worn and uncomfortable furniture in the living room... the sofa isn't at all comfortable nor the two awkward and worn curvy chairs so the living room was a huge waste as were the three televisions in this unit from the 1990's.... we made a trip to Walmart to purchase a new TV that we could at least watch, which of course we had to haul home with us... Now to the most important problem which was the master bed which felt like sleeping on two slanted box springs with no mattress. Fun. This went well with the nasty bed pillows which we wouldn't touch. Again, thank goodness for Walmart. The master bathroom shower door had thick black gunk in the door frame which needs cleaning. The balcony had two broken, cheap chairs and a table... The safe couldn't be accessed upon arrival and a call to the front desk for maintenance used up two hours we could have been on the beach only to discover it still wouldn't work after the maintenance man left, so we had to lock valuables in our car on the way to the beach each time. More fun. Usually I enjoy doing laundry during our condo stay but this time had to haul all dirty laundry home as the dryer in this unit is gross and rusty and one load of towels took HOURS to dry so just not worth it... This unit definitely needs some updating, maintenance and attention to furniture and furnishings. If this is what "standard" is in the booking process at Portofino then they definitely need to slash the rates for this category. A lot. The fact that this unit is "one floor below the Penthouse" means absolutely nothing. We will not be revisiting this resort in the future.
We apologize for the discomforts you experienced while staying with us. We do take your concerns seriously and are making efforts to improve the beach condo. We have reached out to the owner and are working on adding newer furniture. This is not the standard in which we set for ourselves and hope you will give us another opportunity to host you for your next vacation.
Best stay ever!
Love! It was a very relaxing stay for me and my family. The condo was beautiful with a great view. The beach was great. If you're looking for a quick getaway I would recommend this stay.
Very impressed with the staff we encountered around the property. On site dining was great and loved the views the condo gave.
Loved the size and décor of the room, great views too. Enjoyed a lot of onsite amenities, our favorite was the cruise.

Palafox Street was recently named a Great Place in America for 2013 by the American Planning Association. APA singled out Palafox for its European influences, eclectic mix of Spanish Colonial and Chicago School architecture, expansive medians and sidewalks, and planning that has helped turn the street into an attractive and successful gateway to downtown Pensacola.
