About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

The Ancient Wall: Stay in a fabulous apartment in one of Rome’s oldest neighborhoods, a few steps from St. Peter’s Basilica!

This accommodation combines the best that Rome has to offer: a recently renovated, light and comfortable apartment located in one of the city’s most historic quarters. The neighborhood, Rione Borgo, has cobblestone streets, artisans' workshops, neighborhood cafés and local trattorie.

It is within walking distance of the city’s major attractions, including the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, Castel Sant’Angelo, Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and the Piazza Campo de’ Fiori.

This ground-floor apartment is typical of this ancient district of Rome and it is elegantly furnished with modern fixtures. It has its own entry-way, a spacious living room with chimney (including a twin-size sofa bed and an ottoman bed), a kitchenette, a well-appointed bathroom and a master bedroom with original, Renaissance-era brick work.

The thick, Renaissance-era masonry provides cool relief from the summer heat.

Additional details: fully fitted kitchen with fridge, microwave oven and kettle; bathroom with bath tub/shower, dryer; TV; washing machine; boiler for independent heating; crib and high chair for younger children; Internet Wi-Fi; DVD reader and Video Library of 30 movies in English.

The apartment is easily accessible with public transportation, including tram, subway and bus. There are several nearby taxi stands and bicycles and scooters are available for rent. The nearby San Pietro train station has regular service to the Fiumicino airport and to the beach. There is even a taxi-boat service along the Tiber.

Guided tours available on request.

What makes this apartment unique

You are inside the history! The building where the apartment is located was built a few years after the discovery of America. Some walls of the house were built using 2000 years old Roman amphorae! All the walls of the apartment are been fully restored and the amphorae are still clearly visible.

Great Location, BUT Even Greater Landlord!!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was very comfortable, very well decorated, and well set up. The apartment also had its own long history and beauty. The location was wonderful...very near the Vactican and Travestere. The very best thing was the help and caring of the owner, Alessandro! He made everything work well, he helped us with airport transfers, restaurant selection, and booking a sound and light show. He was one of the friendliest people I have met and he really cared about our happiness. An easy FIVE Star experience!

Amazing hosts and location!

  • 5 of 5

This property was perfect for our 6 nights in Rome. Alex and Roberta welcomed us and provided thorough information for us to easily find our way around the amazing city. We toured and/or walked past St Peter's Basilica and the Vatican each day. We had easy access to the metro to farther points in the city. Our hosts communicated so well that we never felt lost or unable to find our way home. We cooked in one night but found that there were many fantastic restaurants within a few blocks or walking distance. Although we were in a very popular location in high season we didn't hear any of the noise outside at night. We loved this location for our family of 3 and will definitely stay here if it is available for our next visit to Rome. I would highly recommend this location and our wonderful hosts to family and friends or anyone visiting Rome. Thank you Alex and Roberta for making our Rome experience so fabulous.

MUY RECOMENDABLE, zona muy tranquila y a un paso de todos los lugares a visitar.

  • 5 of 5

Both the apartment (ideal for two people) and around makes it highly recommended, also tell you we have been for 8 days and only took taxi to the airport, the rest of Rome: walking, we love it Rome, and of course the family (Roberta,Alex,Ludovica & Cristiano) help you at any time, so we encourage you to book at.

Wonderful Home - Wonderful Hosts

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 6 terrific days in Roberta and Alessandro's apartment. They were great hosts whose apartment was very welcoming and their attention to detail was superb. We loved the neighborhood and got to experience a little of what it is like to live as a Roman. We loved the location and were able to walk to all the sites in the historic center of the city. We look forward to a return visit someday.
