Guestbook comments from the owner

I have been a guest of iTravex membership for years. In Paris France, Poipu Hawaii, Rome Italy, Beijing China, the West Coast and British Columbia, I have never stayed at a more agreeable, pleasant or perfect unit as John’s spacious apartment in Prague. My wife, son, his cousin and I were guests for 7 days to our great pleasure and enjoyment. We enjoyed the winter mornings running 4 miles to the old castle and to the Old Town Square on the frosty mornings, when few are awake and the trams trundle on by with yawning people going to work near the Christmas holiday Castles and clock towers. The apartment is so close to the sights that we could walk to the Castle Hill beyond Charles Bridge and spend the day walking back through Wenceslaus Square and Old Town Square enjoying the romantic 2am walk along the glimmering banks of the Dneiper River. There is excitement along with thoughtful cobblestone paths winding through Prague. The apartment is a part of it all. The full kitchen is large and gourmet equipped. The rooms and ceilings are spacious and grand, and the view of the Church and pedestrian cobblestone streets from the enormous windows is fascinating, we would sit with coffee and gaze out to the waking-town each morning.

This is the very best one can expect in apartment accommodations. Do not think twice - Prague awaits.

Wonderful! Comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

The host, Mr. John Grant, was very responsive to all correspondence. Key pick up and drop off occurred without any problems.

The place was excellent! Great location. We pretty much walked to all the restaurants and landmarks (with toddler in tow). We had a tram ticket for a day, however, did not end up using it much since the location was so central. Very comfortable place to stay, plenty of space. Note that there are stairs to take before the elevator. Well stocked kitchen. Very comfortable beds. Nicely appointed bathrooms. Very clean. Safe and secure. I will recommend this place to any family or friend who will going to Prague next.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the apartment and Prague. The location is great for walking to all the major sights in the center and my family loves to try all the great restaurants, cafes and pubs in the area. Best regards, John

Best place to stay in Prague

  • 5 of 5

The location is great and all the sights are within walking distance. We only used the tram to go to the Prague Castle. The apartment itself is beautiful and comfortable. It's tastefully decorated and in reality looks better than on pictures. High ceilings and big windows create a wonderful space with lots of natural light. We really appreciated great attention to details like having adapters, an iron, an umbrella ( even if we did not needed it). Having two bathrooms for the family of 3 adults was priceless. And not easy to find. The place is really designed with travelers in mind. It's not only a place to stay, it's a place to enjoy. John Grant is a wonderful host and communication could not been easier. He returns e-mails or text messages quickly and gives you all the information you need right away. We highly recommend the place. Thank you John! Sofia and Family

Beautiful and Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was a wonderful place for my husband, myself and our 2 adult children, to stay in while visiting the beautiful city of Prague. It was clean and Bright. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were large, so there was plenty of space for us and than some. Having 2 bathrooms was so worth it. The location was wonderful, easy walk to city center, parks, sights and around the corner stroll along the Vltava river day and night. owner was very concerned that all went well, such as getting the keyes, finding the apartment, loggings on to wifi, etc... He kept in touch for any of our concerns. We would recommend this property to all.

comfortable apt in great location

  • 5 of 5

Picking up the keys and getting there was straightforward even with an evening arrival. Apartment is very comfortable with nice kitchen-dining-living area. Large bedrooms and good bathrooms. The location was a nice walk to the central sights but enough away to feel like a resident. Good restaurants in the area. Would definitely want this apartment when returning to this beautiful city.

Owner's Response: Thanks Karen. I completely agree with how you felt about the location. Great neighborhood still populated by local residents and a short walk to the historical center. Being one street from the river embankment is great too! The "Naplavka" market on Saturdays along the embankment is a favourite of mine.

A charming place in a beguiling city.

  • 5 of 5

We've just departed from a four night stay at John's lovely and very nicely appointed apartment in central Prague.

The place has everything you could want or need, and it's a very short walk to the National Theatre on Norodny Street, and perhaps a12 minute walk to the Charles Bridge.

We found John very well organized and easy to deal with, although we did not meet him in person. When my wife's bag was mishandled by the airline, he acted as a go-between to ensure the bag was expected and received by the reception office a couple of blocks away.

The apartment itself is furnished handsomely with substantial furniture and a well-equipped kitchen. There's a good little convenience store about a block away that will likely have most of what you want, for breakfasts at the very least. Transit is also close by, but we found the city to be one of the most walkable we've ever visited.

We would absolutely stay here again during any future return visit to the city, and we'd highly recommend both it and the city.

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

Prague was an absolutely gorgeous city, and this location allowed us to walk to all the beautiful sites. We were just a block off the Vltava River, and in between the Dancing House and the Charles Bridge/National Theatre. The soft chiming of the nearby church bells throughout the day was wonderful. It was very bright and sunny in the mornings as the large windows faced east. We were able to open the windows on east and west side of the apartment for a lovely flow through breeze. The apartment afforded a nice, relaxing atmosphere and the beds were extremely comfortable. The front east facing bedroom could be a bit noisy from the street traffic. The larger bedroom seemed to be noisier as there was a lot of activity in the back common area of the apartments. Also, there is an East Indian restaurant very near by, and the kitchen aromas wafted through the open window of the west main bedroom. It was really handy having Wi-Fi, but the television channels were very limited. We would have liked more towels in addition to the 2 bath towels provided.

For other vacation rentals, we were met at the apartment by the Owner/Manager. This Prague rental was all done through emails and texts. We had to go to another location to pick up and drop off the keys to the apartment; we found this a bit onerous. After a long flight, we just wanted to head straight to the apartment. The door to the apartment had 2 locks and took a bit of juggling to figure it out. Luckily a neighbour saw our struggles, and came to the rescue. Although John Grant was wonderful to deal with, we would have preferred being met a the apartment, and given first hand instructions for the apartment, garbage dump, washer/dryer, etc.

We felt very safe walking the neighbourhood at all hours. The surrounding area had many restaurants and coffee shops, plus there was a little mini-mart close by to purchase the basic essentials. A larger, full service grocery store was several blocks away, but certainly walk-able.
