About the property

3 bdr, 3.5 bath, sleeps 6-8

Nantucket is a special place, and Quidnuck is a special way to see it. Our home is located on the quiet and beautiful east end of the island between Sconset and Squam -- five miles and ten minutes from Nantucket town.

Quidnuck features large, light-filled bedrooms, two fireplaces, a great kitchen, top-of-the-line furnishings and linens, three decks, a hammock, and all beach equipment.

Our house is set on 1.5 acres on a quiet road with only five houses. It's just one-half mile from a wonderful beach/pond combination at Quidnet -- each with lovely sand beaches and much different water experiences. The pond is about one mile in diameter, and is warm and quiet -- great for smaller children. The uncrowded beach is part of 36 miles of beaches on Nantucket that are open to the public.

We love the house and island, and so does everyone who stays here.

There is a second fireplace in the dining room/kitchen. There is a front porch, and two decks, all with plenty of seating. The east facing deck has a dining table and the gas grill. The sprinkler system keeps the large flat lawn green and flowers/plants around the decks blooming throughout the summer.

This house was absolutely lovely. Lots of light filled rooms, comfortably and beautifully decorated, 5 star kitchen for people that like to cook, GREAT outdoor shower and lots of wonderful outside decks to relax. The setting in Quidnet is quiet and peaceful, yet close to the Polpis Road when you need to get somewhere. We were very pleased with this rental.

Special Spot

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent the first two weeks of September at Quidnuck and it was terrific. We are longtime visitors to Nantucket and have rented homes all over the island. This house is well equipped with a very nice layout, a great kitchen with all new appliances, and lots of decks to enjoy the private yard and lovely grounds. The owner, Jack McKay, is a pleasure to work with and wants you to have a great visit. The area of Quidnet is a gem of a spot – off the beaten path with its own ocean beach and swimming pond – but close enough to anywhere you want to get to on the island. This was our second stay at Quidnuck and we are looking forward to our next!

Great week

  • 4 of 5

Quidnuck is a perfect Nantucket home to consider for your vacation. My family and I just returned, and the house was organized, clean and more than just a "beach house". Some of our favorite features of this house included nice upgraded decor/outdoor landscape, the outdoor shower, the premium cable/on demand, front porch with adirondack chairs, baby gate, pack/play, and bed rail for our kids. We explored areas of the island this time we had never seen in our 7 years vacationing on island. There's a great kids beach/salt water pond a few miles down called Quidnet (no waves) and Great Point is absolutely breathtaking. Sconset was just a short ride for coffee/ice cream/groceries. Nice sized bedrooms and multiple rooms/areas to relax!

Perfect September Weather!

  • 4 of 5

This home is located on a quiet side street surrounded by few homes giving it a country feel. From the seashell driveway, manicured grounds, to the comfortable front porch that was well appointed with adirondak chairs for early morning coffee to watch the sunrise or watch the stars at night - we were delighted! With a car we were centrally located for beaching, walking around town or just checking out other parts of the island. The bike paths and public transportation were up the street making it really convenient to the whole island even without the car. The owners have outfitted this home with all necessary amenities giving it a comfortable feel. We have not been to Nantucket in 10 years and this trip has reminded us of the reasons we used to spend vacations in such a beautiful place. Thank you so much Jack! The trip was so memorable thanks to your hospitality!

Great Nantucket Home

  • 5 of 5

Our family has rented this house for many years. We've been renting in Nantucket for 30 years. This house is among the best. Its a great house - great living areas, great outdoor decks, very comfortable and private bedrooms. well maintained, well located and more. Unlike most rentals, this house is well stocked so it doesn't have the empty feeling many places do. This is a real house!

Its a great country place - near the beach, with bikes, beach chairs, etc. We highly recommend it!

Great property

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented this property for our first anniversary and even though it was off-season, we had a great time! The property feels very secluded, even thought it's just a short drive to town and to the beach. The two fireplaces made the house very comfortable for our trip. We look forward to returning during the summer so that we can enjoy the beach more.

Car: necessary

Quidnuck is located at the east end of Nantucket Island, near Quidnet and 3 miles north of Sconset. It is 5 miles from downtown. This part of the island has larger lots and more privacy (more trees) than other parts of the island. The pond and pond beach that adjoins the ocean beach at Quidnet is a special treat. Both beaches are lovely and uncrowded and the pond water is up to 10 degrees warmer than the ocean
