Peaceful, rejuvinating

  • 5 of 5

This property and the owners fit the bill for a much needed break from winter!

The house itself is so inviting and cozy it didn't take us long to fill at home. Larry was a welcoming, friendly and attentive host. We didn't need much but I have no doubt Larry would have helped us with whatever we needed. This property is the perfect location to enjoy San Diego, La Jolla and the wine country of Temecula. Loved living in a avocado grove. Next time we will call ahead to make sure some are picked and ripening before we arrive! LOL We also brought our two small dogs who were also welcomed and they loved exploring the patio and chasing the geckos (never harmed any but it was great fun!) Can't say enough about this property - we will return! Thank you, Larry

Very enjoyable experience

  • 5 of 5

Larry and Letitia are great hosts. The location of the property is perfect for visiting and touring the San Diego and southern Ca beach areas. Living in an avocado grove is an interesting and fun experience. We plan to return, our month there was not enough time to do and see everything we had on our agenda. The cottage is unique, private, and a great place to just do nothing.

Highly Recommend

Thumbs Up. Expectations Exceeded.

  • 5 of 5

We have used VRBO for multiple monthly rentals over the years. We research, read reviews and, prior to renting, talk to the owners or property managers. For the most part, our expectations have been met. With Bonsall Jardins, our expectations were exceeded! What a find this is.

The entire process, from inquiry to departure, was professional and friendly. We were met with gracious hospitality, given the keys to this lovely cottage and allowed to feel as if we owned it for 31 days. The house is perfect—from a gas-lit, wood burning fireplace to a full outdoor kitchen that overlooks the village of Bonsall. Larry and Latisha generously delivered wood to our door whenever they saw we were running low, lit our outdoor “ambiance” lights on New Year’s Eve, refilled our coffee supply, kept the hot-tub serviced, brought us avocados, welcomed us to their citrus trees, and on and on. They did this all, yet made sure we had our privacy. They have the gift of welcoming hospitality.

The house comfortably sleeps four or five, with two bedrooms and a comfortable futon in the living area. When we had extra guests and needed more room, we rented some of the luxurious suites in the main house. Our guests found the suites to be high-end luxury, the views unending and the value exceptional. (Larry, the last guests in your main house even want to know where you buy your linens!)

We depart from Bonsall Jardins with a bit of sadness. What a quiet, light-filled place to live for a month—particularly when we know it’s snowing back home. The citrus, roses and avocados have been a delight. Larry and Latisha have become friends. And the community of Bonsall feels like home. Without a doubt, we give a firm thumbs up to Bonsall Jardins. We wouldn’t change a thing.

Out of this world!

  • 5 of 5

What a find! We have spent 6 months travelling the world and staying in many luxury places but I have to say that Bonsall Jardins will stick out in our minds above all else. We chose Bonsall Jardins as we didn't want to spend the over inflated prices of coastal properties. This turned out to be the best move we made as we found the weather at the beach to be cloudy most of the time and near perfect in Bonsall. The view that we had private access to is something we will remember for a very long time. The owners were very generous with their time and made us feel very welcome. The property is exactly as described and well maintained. Anne was kind enough to show us around the orchard when we arrived and pointed out all the different fruit and vegetables that we could pick. We stayed at Bonsall Jardins for over a month and found the owners to be full of excellent suggestions on where to go and what to do (apart from obvious San Diego attractions). We have two small children and found this property to be perfect for our stay. The property was fully equipped and the owners have thought of everything you could need for a short break or a long stay. Dealing with Larry and Anne was also easy, they were prompt with replies to emails and made the whole process simple. We cant wait to return!

GORGEOUS PROPERTY

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 4 family members (including an 8 years old girl) that was swimming in the "pool" the whole weekend, the jacuzzi is amazing and the outdoor area with thouse views and that outdoor kitchen/barbeque is perfect to prepare outdoor meals; it also has it;s own outdoor chimney. The bedrooms are beautiful and the bathroom is large and with an amazing rain shower and a regular shower with great water pressure, the kitchen is large and sunny, the property is located in a large lot that it's actually an avocado grove and there are also many fruit trees for your enjoyment; we absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful home and we had the pleasure to meet Larry and he was

extremely nice and helpful during our weekend stay; next time we'll try to stay for 4 days and enjoy this beautiful place at a slower pace. Thank you Anne and Larry for letting us enjoy your private paradise in such a beautiful setting; we miss the house already! Alma & family

ps. Don't forget that you are only a short drive away from The Wild Animal Park, Temecula with an amazing Farmer's Market and also the beautiful Grand Tradition Estate and Gardens in Fallbrook with it's own great restaurant.

Just Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Everything was all we had hoped for and the details on VRBO were as described. Our first visit to California from England where we were hoping to combine lots of golf with sightseeing. If you are a golfer you will not be disappointed - we played 19 different courses - some twice. The cottage was just perfect - it was like coming home after a days golf or sightseeing to spectacular views - from the hot tub followed by lazing by a magnificent log fire. The avocado grove was a delight - we feasted well not only on the avocados but grapefruit, oranges and lemons. We also enjoyed asparagus straight from the garden. Larry and Ann could not have been better hosts. The accommodation was well appointed and maintained with a French influence.
