Guestbook comments from the manager

The stay at the house was wonderful! Thank you again for all the help and support. When we moved to the other house for the second part of our trip, we all kept saying that we should have stayed at your house for the entire trip. We loved your property, Nancy is an amazing asset that essentially made our trip go from good to great and we loved the little towns near your house. When we arrived late on Thursday night, Nancy had a fire going, food ready and the place was in perfect condition. We could not have asked for a better welcome.

The horseback riding was also a great time. We all wished would have had more time to relax up on top of the mountain for another hour or two but we were on a time limit with our kids back at the house. The riding staff was great and the food, wine and beer were exactly what you needed when you got up there. The 1 hour duration each way is perfect for us "city slickers"....and the weather was picture perfect that day.

Hopefully we can be in touch in the future to do another stay at your place.

Beautiful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Six of us - three couples - spent three days and nights at Puertazul as part of a 10 day vacation in Chile. The property is beautiful inside and out. All of the bedrooms were comfortable. We enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, and grilling outside as well. Nancy was hospitable, and supplied wonderful empanadas, as well as a full barbecue for one night of our stay. She also ran some laundry for us, which was much appreciated. Puertazul is well located for hiking, and also visiting wineries. Judy was able to arrange a driver for us, which was a great help as we could relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery - not to mention the tastings. In many ways, it was the afternoons spent lounging around the pool that were most restorative. We enjoyed our time thoroughly, and I would absolutely recommend the property to friends and family.

Beautiful property for a Maipo Valley basecamp.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Casa Grande for 3 nights with 4 adults and 2 infants. The house and property are beautiful and in perfect condition with plenty of space for 2 families. We arrived very late at night and the property manager, Nancy, had a fire going, food prepared and the house looking amazing. The location is among some great small and quaint towns including San Jose del Maipo and San Alfonso. You are also only an hour from Santa Rita and Concho de Toro wineries. Our group had split our time between Casa Grande and another house near the coast but we all wished we had stayed at Casa Grande for the whole week. We also recommend ordering a few of Nancy's empanadas as well as arranging the horseback / bbq lunch activity that Nancy or Judy can setup for you.

Absolutely Astonishing!!

  • 5 of 5

This amazing little haven is perhaps the most wonderful place we've ever stayed in worldwide, and we have been all over the world! The main casa was splendidly constructed, delightfully decorated, and charming well beyond our expectations. We never got tired of the pool, hot tub, deck & barbeque area, or the soothing river just below, and we all really wished the we had arranged to stay at this property for the entire 2 weeks of our trip. Puertazul was the highlight of our travels!

Judy, the land lady was so cordial and helpful, as was Nancy who attends to the property directly. The little towns of San Alfonso and San Jose de Maipo offered a plentiful authentic Chilean selection of groceries, dining and libations for the kids and adults. We just never wanted to leave! We so highly recommend this place. Grab it if you have the chance...you won't be disappointed!

A lovely home in the Maipo Valley

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Puertazul very much. The home is well furnished with many amenities. The upstairs bedroom is quite spacious and has its own bathroom. There is also a den with a loveseat recliner. Downstairs are two cozy bedrooms which share a bath. The kitchen is very roomy with pots and pans and dishes enough for doing your own cooking, should you be so inclined. The grounds are beautiful! Flowers and fruit and nut trees are on the property, and you can go down to the river and watch the white-water rafters go by.

FANTASTICO!

  • 5 of 5

This was also my first trip to Chile and we stayed in the larger house on the property. The whole house is beautifully decorated but we especially loved our master suite which was spacious and bright and featured a small terrace overlooking the Andes mountains, gardens and pool where we had our morning tea. Amazing Nancy was available to cook dinner for us and we dined on the deck adjacent to the kitchen surrounded by tall Walnut shade trees. There is a large stone fireplace in the living room which I could only imagine warming us during a winter evening. We spent one afternoon in quaint San Jose de Maipo roaming through the market and I loved the brightly colored houses and street art. Another day we rafted down the wild Maipo river. But the highlight of our trip was the 6 hr horseback ride up into the Andes with our guide Ernan. We climbed to about 5000 ft passing the most spectacular views imaginable. There our horses rested while we had an outdoor BBQ for lunch. FANTASTICO! Can’t wait to do it all over again. Highly recommended.
