Located less than 20 minutes from Newark Liberty Airport and right across the Hudson River from New York City that can be reached in a short commute (by NJ Transit buses, PATH trains or NY Waterways Ferries), Hoboken is one of the best places to stay when visiting NYC. It is a safe place for families offering a diversity of restaurants, boutiques, parks and playgrounds, and definitely the best views of Manhattan, all within walking distance (one square mile only!).

Located on the 3rd floor (WALK-UP) of a historical brownstone building (built in 1892) uptown Hoboken, this condominium is ideal for a family of 4-6. The condo was renovated and upgraded in 2011. The master bedroom sleeps 2 adults (queen size bed), the children’s bedroom sleeps 2 (twin size bunk beds), and the other bedroom sleeps 1 (twin size bed). Fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, utensils, pots and pans, and small appliances (coffee maker, toaster). WiFi access and TV (no cable). Tour books, maps, and handbook with practical information available.

There is nothing easier than getting to Manhattan from the condo! It is located two short blocks away from the closest NJ Transit bus stop that will take you to Port Authority/Time Square in approximately 15 minutes (not during rush hour!). A 20-minute walk or a 5-minute bus ride will take you to the PATH station, where you can catch a train to to the Financial District/Chinatown (10 min.), Greenwich Village (10 min.), or 33rd street (15 min.).

Spend your days sightseeing in NYC and come back home to Hoboken, NJ to enjoy a dinner at home (grocery stores nearby), or treat yourself to one of the many nearby ethnic restaurants and relax.

You may also decide to take a break from NYC and relax in Hoboken, where there is plenty to do. Stroll around the birth town of Frank Sinatra, walk by the original baseball field, go up the hill and take a walk in the beautiful campus of Stevens Institute of Technology to enjoy a magnificent view of Manhattan from the George Washington Bridge all the way to the Financial district, shop at the many unique boutiques on Washington street, and take a peek inside Carlo’s Bake Shop that hosts Cake Boss, the TLC reality TV show.

Fun for kids… Take your kids to the playground (5 of them within 10 minute walks).

About Severine

We are a family of five used to traveling abroad with small children. There is nothing better than finding a home away from home. When we realized that hotels were not an option for us any more, we were so happy to find vacation rentals where we could have more space, cook our own food/baby food, and relax. However, some of the places we found were not very kid friendly. So, we furnished our apartment with families in mind. By providing parents all cooking utensils and appliances they will need to make yummy home cooked dinners, and by providing children their own room, we are hoping to make your stay as a family in the New York City area even more enjoyable.

Severine purchased this apartment in 2011

Why Severine chose Gateway Region

We fell in love with Hoboken when our kids were born. This city is great for children, and you’ll see why when you come visit! It has the feel of a small village where everything is within walking distance. Yet it is so close to NYC! An easy commute away, it feels like you live in a neighborhood of NYC.

What makes this apartment unique

Great price for a great location! You will not be disappointed!

Beautiful Place to be for up to 5 guests

  • 5 of 5

We stood in the apartment for 5 nights with 5 persons. The apartment was abseloutely clean and well prepared. It has three bedrooms, a living room, a bath and a kitchen wich ist fully equipped. It is located in Hoboken, New Jersey wich ist 15 - 30 min to New York by Bus (depends on traffic). A supermarket and the Bus stop are very close to the appartment. The organization and the contact was perfect and everytime very kind. The apartment is beautiful and in a very good shape. We really enjoyed our stay and Hoboken is also a really nice place to have a look at.

Had a great time in this area in late December. Restaurants and transportation all within walking distance.

Great location, rooms clean and owners were efficient in dealing with us. Great information also supplied by owners. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in NYC.

Great place to stay in Hoboken!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great place to stay in Hoboken. I stayed here three different times in September & October. Very clean, safe and SO conveniently located. I was attending sporting events at Stevens Institute of Technology, which is only 4 blocks away, but I also enjoyed a couple easy day trips to NYC from here by train and bus. There are so many wonderful restaurants nearby. You can't go wrong staying here.

Great Accomodation

  • 5 of 5

My family and I (two adults and three children) are just back from a stay in the Garden Apartments in Hoboken and we cannot praise the accommodation and area enough. Apartment is perfectly located in the beautiful relaxed area of Hoboken which has lots of bars and restaurants and is a short train ride from Manhattan. The neighbourhood felt really safe and the apartment is very clean and has everything you require for a long weekend.

Garden street apartment in Hoboken, NJ

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children, and a grandma stayed at this apartment for five nights. We had an amazing time visiting the sights and sounds of NYC. The apartment is just as described. It was very clean, and spacious enough for the five of us. I felt safe walking around in the quaint town of Hoboken. Transportation into the city was easy to do as well. I would definitely recommend staying there. It was a plus to be able to use the new laundry machines in the basement as well. It was nice to have a home to go to at night, versus a cramped hotel room in the city. The owner was very good at responding to all my questions, and she seemed to truly care about our experience. We had a great time all in all.

Great Neighborhood and Close Enough to Manhatten

  • 5 of 5

We stayed three nights to visit colleges and see a couple of musicals in Manhatten. We got to the city and back to the condo by taking the Hoboken PATH train to the World Trade Center station. The walk from the condo to train is an easy mile along the Hudson River...beautiful view of the City. The PATH is $2.50 each way.

You can also walk down Washington Street and there are lots of stores and restaurants along the way.

The neighborhood felt very safe. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed.

It is more of a family place, not set up for couples. One bedroom has a comfortable queen bed but the second is a day bed and the third room has bunk beds. There is one TV in the family room but there is no cable TV. Your channel selection is very limited. We were there only to sleep so it was no problem for us.

The instructions from the owner said wifi was sketchy but my son had no problem streaming.

Bottom line: great location, safe, easy access to Manhatten, beautiful view of Manhatten from the Hudson River which is only a few blocks from the condo.
