Why Jenifer Cartland chose Southwest

In Kindergarten, we were asked to draw a picture of our favorite places in the world. I drew the swing set at my grandparents' cottage in northern Michigan. I still have that picture. Whenever we are at our little cottage in Stevensville, I am transported right back there to my grandparents' cottage . . . and only 90 miles from home.

What makes this cottage unique

We love hiking at Grand Mere all year round. In the winter, the sledding is fantastic. In the summer, the beaches are so clean and beautiful (and never crowded).

Perfect for families!

  • 5 of 5

Great location, amenities, and property! Quaint and rustic--comfortable for me, my husband and our 3 boys (6,4,2). Small AC unit and TV did the trick! Extremely private yet easy to access. Nothing fancy, which is exactly what we wanted for beach day trips, naps and cook outs!

Great cottage with great access to many awesome places.

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. We we're out enjoying the area attractions during the day and loved the quiet cottage in the evenings. The cottage has beach access just down the road and was located near many wineries in the area. We has a very nice trip and hope to be back soon. Thanks Jim and Betsy.

Great property!

  • 5 of 5

Rented the house originally for four adults and a dog but ended up just being my husband and myself. We didn't get to enjoy the yard but it looked wonderful. We were visiting for a wedding in the area so we only ended up sleeping at the house. We didn't use the kitchen but it looked well equipped. We felt the house had everything we could have wanted and look forward to renting again when we have time to enjoy it. Great rental for a family, they had stacks of games, puzzles and books. Great location, quiet but yet still close to several things.

Perfect relaxing get-a-way property!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was very charming and cozy. The TV is small, but there's so much to do in the area outside of the house. The fire pit was amazing...located right next to the pond and lots of room. There a swing set in the backyard and a wonderful detached deck with the charcoal grill. The kitchen is spacious and user friendly...we had everything we needed. I would come back again for the serene neighborhood and wonderful lot and house.

The owner was very accommodating and prompt to communicate with...thank you Jeni!

Cozy winter retreat

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here over the weekend with a group of a few girlfriends, and it was the perfect setting for us to catch up, play games, and explore the area. We even took a winter walk out to the lake. It was warm and inviting and so charming, and the pillow on the bed was the best one I've ever used. I would love to stay here again!
