Surrounded by specimen oaks, Japanese maples, kumquat, apple, persimmon, plum and pear trees, rose bushes, mature landscaping and long, level lawns, this 3,000 square foot single-level home situated atop two well-manicured acres will charm one and all. The estate is conveniently located just past downtown Glen Ellen, a 60-minute drive from the Golden Gate Bridge.

We live in San Francisco and this is a second home that we have owned and lovingly renovated since 2000.
Craig purchased this House in 2000

privacy in rural setting yes close to eating and Great wineries,
Beautiful home with interesting art collection , large rooms 3 bath, outside putting green and play toys, great for children having also a play set. plenty of parking nice pool and hot tub, Large Living with space and great TV.
Fantastic family friendly home
This is the place to go, particularly with small kids. Hours of enjoyment in huge, private fenced backyard with separate pool area and kids' play structure. Beds were very comfortable and outdoor furniture was especially so. Great kitchen set up with every possible tool and pan at your disposal. Adults not forgotten with putting green, hot tub and ping pong table, not to mention separate wine fridge, at the ready. 3 bathrooms allowed for each family having their own space. Only slight downside is that the 2 queen size bedrooms are linked by a pocket door. This space made sense for a couple with a small child, but that left the other couple sharing the bunk bed room with their 2 kids. Worked fine for everyone, but this set-up might not suit people without small kids. Having said that, met our needs beautifully and we would highly recommend this home. We happily spent 3 nights there, only leaving to get more groceries. Very private and safe property, and also close (10 minute) drive to historic downtown Sonoma.
Wonderful family vacation
This property was absolutely perfect for our yearly family vacation. It isn't easy to find a place that is beautiful and yet comfortable for a family, grandparents to toddlers. The kids played safely in the completely fenced yard and the adults were able to enjoy the amazing art collection in the house, everything placed either on the walls or safely out of reach of little fingers. You could tell this is a house well loved and cared for by the family that owns it. I also enjoyed dealing directly with the owner in arranging our stay. I hope we will be able to return next year.
Great for Families!
My husband and I, our dog, and 1 yr old rented this house for a week. Some of our friends and their kids came up for a weekend. It was fantastic for all of us! Plenty for kids to do with pool, hot tub, yard, and play structure. The grounds are just beautiful with various fruit trees all over. We would definitely stay here again.
Note that 2 of the bedrooms are connected with a pocket door. These are the rooms that are in what used to be the garage and they are right off the kitchen and laundry area and share a bathroom. The rooms are quite spacious and nice, but it is good to know the setup if you are needing to use all bedrooms in the house.
GREAT place to stay!
We really enjoyed our stay here. Here are the pros: private location, beautiful grounds, nice patio area, comfortable home, fenced pool, fenced hot tub, good wifi, play house, ping pong table, golf putting area, loads of pool toys/floats etc for the kids. Here are the cons (which are minor): ice maker in refrigerator did not work (though I think this is being repaired), only half of the BBQ worked, built in espresso machine did not work, and alarm system did not work. I would have given this a 5 star rating if everything had been working properly.
Great Choice for a small family vacation in Wine Country
This was a great location nestled among wineries in the quaint town of Glen Ellen. The house had many amenities for young children and adults, including a amazing number of fruit trees. While we were there, figs, apples and plums were readily visible and ripe for picking. We had slight issues with the maintenance of the pool, putting green and patio, as these seem to be less well maintained than the interior of the house. Although we found it amusing and didn't mind our green friends, some guests might not appreciate frogs in the pool. Overall, a good place to spend the weekend with family.
