Lots of room, very comforting
We are renting this home from Aug 2015 - June 2016. When we arrived everything was neat, organized and clean. No smell of cigarettes or pets of any kind. The house is really big with plenty of room. The views and access to the lake are amazing. We even made a trip up here to meet the owners and see the house in person before we rented. The owners were very accommodating and gave us a thorough tour of the home and answered all the questions we had. We communicate often through email and the response rate is wonderful. I always get a response to an email within 24 hours or before. We love this home and the location and would definitely recommend to a friend.
Year-round rental - August 2014 - May 2015
I had the privilege of renting this house from Fall 2014 to Spring 2015 while on a teaching position nearby. Previously noted cigarette smoke smells were not apparent at all (and I am very sensitive to smells, dander, pollen, mold etc). Charming with lots of room for family and friends over the year and an incredible position on the lake with boats to paddle. Ronna and Lester were wonderful and welcoming. I only wished I lived closer to Greenbsoro so I could rent it again!
House and Linens are Permeated with the smell of Cigarette Smoke
Rented this in Summer of 2013 with family. Comfortable and as it appears in the photos but TERRIBLY steeped in the smell of cigarette smoke -- even the bedroom pillows, despite airing them out on the porch many days in a row. I would not rent this house again.
This is a no-smoking house, however the winter 2013 tenant appears to have smoked in one of the bedrooms, against the rules of the house. The smell of cigarettes was contained in this bedroom. Once this reviewer informed us of this problem we took immediate action. We replaced the bed, linens, and pillows with brand new items, and discarded the contaminated bedding and bed. We had an extra cleaning done immediately, and when we arrived for our stay in the house, we cleaned all of the walls, ceiling, and floors with vinegar, which seems to have done the trick. We are non smokers and sleep in this bedroom when we are in Vermont. By the time we left, the room no longer smelled. Subsequent tenants concurred. We also refunded a significant portion of the rent to this reviewer, and regret that this reviewer did not have a good experience. The house was then rented summer 2014 and guests had no complaints.
