Sweet little oasis in a wonderful neighborhood
We loved Segire’s little house! The neighborhood was lively with lots of restaurants and boutiques. The house was quiet and in a beautiful courtyard.
Segire was very accommodating and helpful. A wonderful stay!
lovely, cozy home near the canal
We loved spending a week here! The apartment is situated very close to several train lines, but the surrounding Canal St. Martin area has plenty to do (lots of great bars, restaurants, and shops). The small patio is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, and the small kitchen (two-burner stovetop) is set up well for making basic meals. They also have tons of wonderful books and magazines about paris on the coffee table in case you need recommendations. All in all, a very quiet and pleasant stay that made for a perfect home base for exploring the city. Thank you so much for hosting us!
Picture perfect Paris hideaway
My daughter and I stayed at the tiny pied a tere offered by Segire and Louis. Though small, it had everything we needed.
The apartment is very well situated for exploring the trendy Canal St. Martin. Segire has great recommendations for restaurants and more.
The apartment is incredibly neat and efficient and there's even an outdoor sitting area and terrace. If I had to find any faults about the place, the steps up to the sleeping loft are a little steep.
I definitely recommend this charming place and while we there late winter, I imagine it would be even more delightful in the spring and summer when all the wonderful plantings in the courtyard are in bloom.
Adorable apartment in non-touristy area of Paris!
My husband and I spent 2 weeks in the apartment near Canal St. Martin. First I must say that it took by 6'2" husband a few days to get comfortable in the small space. I am 5'5" and was perfectly at home immediately. That said I must say that it is very livable and very secure. We have been to Paris many times so we were looking for a more "real" stay rather than a tourist visit. We loved the Canal St. Martin, the locals sit along its banks in the evenings, there are numerous bistros and bars along the way and if you walk down a bit you will find a group of older gentlemen playing petanque in the evenings. It is near 2 main train station so day trips north or east are very easy.
Best of all are the hosts- Seguire and Louie- who live across the courtyard. They are very gracious and helpful. For example- a friend ordered a bottle of wine for our birthdays from a Paris wine store to be delivered. Well, there was much drama around the delivery and we finally asked Seguire and Louie for advice. They took all the particulars and promised to see what they could do. The next afternoon we found a bottle of wine with a birthday note - not the first bottle but a gift from Seguire and Louie!! To make a long story short, they tracked down the original bottle and shipped it to us in Houston, Tx and it is in our home waiting to be enjoyed.
I recommend this apartment for anyone that is looking for a "real" Paris experience and are comfortable is small spaces.
Romantic, cozy and secure. Easy access to public transport. Contemporary bath/shower with strong, hot weather. Note: steep ladder-like steps to sleeping loft. Very responsive host.
Beautiful tiny-home and a wonderful bed!
Segire was a wonderful host and their tiny home in the garden was fantastic. The house is secreted away behind a huge street door and through an interesting (and immaculate) alley of similar places. Behind a black steel door you enter a secluded courtyard and find the property.
The set up is so interesting and the bed is very, very comfortable. We also enjoyed the Japanese soaking tub and shower. The family's housekeeper, Daisy, was polite and helpful.
I've never stayed in the 10th and the Canal St. Martin was so beautiful and interesting to watch the locks as boats move up and down the canal. There are great restaurants nearby, as well as great shops (clothing, patisseries and bookstore).
