On a VERY QUIET PRIVATE ROAD about 300 feet from the beach with partial views of the surf across an ocean lagoon from the house. Located at sea-level among giant cypress trees in a very tranquil oceanside setting. Rooftop Deck has a HOT TUB overlooking the beach and ocean. A two minute walk along a footpath along Moran Lagoon leads to beautiful Moran Beach (which can be followed up the coast for about a half mile).
This Modern House has undergone an extensive remodeling including new gourmet kitchen, new bathrooms, new living room linear gas fireplace and oak wood floors throughout. This two-story, three bedroom, two and a half bath, colorful stucco beach house, just repainted interior and a large skylight in the main living area. Modern cleanline leather furniture. Original contemporary large oil paintings. Gourmet kitchen. This home is in great condition and has a lot of natural light inside. The house is on a quiet, private street lined with old cypress trees. A very short walk along Lake Moran goes to the beach.
Living area is approximately 1700 square feet. Solid wood dining table can accomodate seating up to eights adults(when using the table leaf extention). The bedrooms are all upstairs on the second floor. The master bedroom is at the front of the house, with the two additional bedrooms in the rear.
Rooftop deck is 400+ square feet with expansive views of the beach, ocean and sunsets.
Parking for two cars only in the cobblestone area in front of the house. Rear of the house has a flagstone patio with built-in bench seating and dining table with chairs in a tropical garden. Beds are one queen in master suite, one queen bed in back bedroom, and two twin bed in the third bedroom. SLEEPS 6. Master suite has a walk-in closet and a newly entirely remodeled Large Master Bathroom: limestone floor, glass tiles and Italian painted ceramic tiles with glass block windows and new bathroom fixtures. Second upstairs bathroom has shower/bathtub combination and has just been remodeled. Third downstairs bathroom is a half bath without a shower/tub.
Neighborhood is friendly and casual. Kids can walk around easily to the park, beach or local neighborhood market. Lake is a 1 minute walk; 2 minutes along the lake on a footpath puts you on Moran Beach. It is all at sea level with very easy access. Also,the area is perfect for a coastal bike ride or stroll as there is a paved path at the end of the lake leading to a bike path to Pleasure Point and Capitola. Surfing/bodyboarding at Pleasure Point and 26th Avenue are a close walk from the house.

My daughter and I always run the Wharf to Wharf race and this year we decided to rent a house and stay a week. Two weeks prior to the event, the original rental cancelled on us. This event sells out so when the renter cancelled, we thought we were out of luck. Started searching for a replacement and found this property and it was available. Thought there must be something wrong with it since it hadn't been rented. What a surprise when we arrived and found a wonderful house, well stocked, comfortable, close to the beach and the race course so family and friends could come out and cheer us on. We had 2 toddlers with us and they had a ball. The backyard was just the right size for them and they enjoyed the roof top hot tube (as did we all). We all had a fabulous time. Would recommend this house.
We are a family from Ireland with 3 teenage children. We rented this property for 3 weeks in July 2011.
We were extremely happy with our stay. The description of the house was 100% accurate and our interaction with the owner was efficient and very professional. The location of the house is excellent, it is
almost on the ocean and is conveniently located between Santa Cruz and Capitola. I would highly recommend this rental.
The home is as described, and turned out to be the perfect vacation house for us, a family with a toddler and a mother-in-law. The owner, whom we never met, was a great communicator via email. He also returned our deposit within a week and provided us with tons of different contacts in case anything went wrong or was not to our liking before we got there. We didn't have any problems but it was certainly a relief knowing we were taken care of. The house had lots of natural light, with fun art on display and modern decor. I sometimes wished there were blinds downstairs but felt the home was private enough not to really require it. And the beach was a super short walk and really family and surfer friendly.
Just what our family was looking for in a beach get-away. Located in a friendly, quiet neighborhood complete with a roof deck hot tub. And so close to the beach. The kids loved the very short, easy walk to the sandy beach. The parents loved sitting in the hot tub at night listening to the surf (so relaxing we found it hard to leave.) The house was impeccably clean, well kept and had everything we needed for our stay. We were also close to many of the the highlights of the Santa Cruz area. The owners made every part of our rental experience easy. We will definitely stay here again if/we travel to Santa Cruz.

bedroom were magnificent, as were the views from
the rooftop deck. We especially enjoyed the
fireplace in the living room. The proximity to the
beach allowed us to take frequent walks there. The
rental process was convenient and easy. We look
forward to having our guests stay at this home in
Boogie-boarding, Beach Sunbathing, Low-tide tidepools, Uncrowded swimming beach, Shop at local Surf Shops, Access to local organic markets and restaurants, 5 minutes to Capitola Village, 10 minutes to Boardwalk and Downtown Pacific Garden Mall in Santa Cruz, Convenient to UC Santa Cruz campus
