Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 2

Our little ‘Cubby Cabin’ is a renovated, one hundred year old little gem. This darling retreat is the perfect accommodation for a business traveler, a couple’s romantic weekend, a vacation getaway, or cozy enough for a long winter hibernation.

This remodeled rental with an interesting historic past, has new modern conveniences that everyone wants, but retains most of its unique, early 1900’s charm.

The living room is very comfortably accommodated with a large leather sofa, comfy reading chair and a 32” HD flat screen TV with Dish satellite programming. The rental has Wi-Fi so that you can keep up with email and business obligations. A free-standing gas fireplace which adds ambiance and cozy warmth on chilly days is a new addition as of 2015.

The eat-in kitchen has hickory cabinetry, full sized appliances and is fully stocked with all the cooking essentials and small appliances that you will need to make a ‘home cooked’ meal.

The bedroom is handsomely decorated in a woodsy theme with a comfortable queen bed, a large dresser and large closet. There is an alarm clock with a USB port for your phone and other electronic devices.

The uniquely remodeled bathroom is ‘contemporary cabin’ and has a shower, but no bathtub. There is also a laundry room with washer and dryer.

Through the back door is a private new deck complete with outdoor furniture, dining table and a charcoal grill. Relax on the patio under the stars after a long day of site-seeing with a beverage next to the fire pit.

The ‘Cubby Cabin’ rental sits on a grassy lot that has a shady back lawn with seating and picnic tables provided as a common area shared with the adjacent rental.

FWI – you’ll almost certainly see a few deer grazing on the property and there has been a bear spotted in this area of town on a few occasions :)

About Kim Brice

Moose Alley Lodging opened for business in August 2001.

It all began with the idea to build a studio apartment behind our residence for our children just in case they ever decided to 'move back home'. Extended family and friends came to vacation in our beautiful town and of course, we welcomed them to stay in our wonderful, little apartment. Everyone raved about how much they enjoyed their stay in our cozy, 'moosey' home away from home...so we decided to offer Moose Alley to other travelers as well. We have made many new friends along the way and hope to make many more in the future.

It is now 2017 and a lot has happened in the 16 years that we have been in the vacation rental business. We are 16 years older and hopefully "wiser". Two sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law and 9 grandchildren have been added to our family along with much joy to our lives.

We have added and renovated 3 more properties since the spring of 2012 and we are always thinking of ways we can upgrade and improve a vintage, 1936 three- bedroom bungalow, an early 1940’s two-bedroom cottage and a darling, early 1900’s one-bedroom.

It has truly been a labor of love, because it’s exhausting work and at times we were asking ourselves “what have we gotten ourselves into?” We have weathered the stress of the initial major renovation and now we can stand back and admire the accomplishment. We even received the ‘Pride Award’ from the City of Cody for our beautification of these properties.

We have really enjoyed this endeavor of transforming these three vintage houses to make them beautiful and comfortable “homes” for our guests and the best part is the hundreds of wonderful people we have met from all over the world. We love sharing information and doing what we can to help make our guests trip to Cody, Wyoming, Yellowstone and surrounding areas, an enjoyable and exciting experience that they will cherish and have fond memories of, for many years to come.

Why Kim Brice chose Wyoming

We were offered the opportunity to buy this property from the owner while we were renovating the property next door.

What makes this cottage unique

This cozy little abode has lots of colorful history that we love to share with our guests. This also was the residence of Buffalo Bill's great-grandson at one time.

Lovely place to stay right in town.

  • 5 of 5

This little house was wonderful. Walking distance to everything in Cody, exceptionally clean, great back yard and the washer and dryer were a total bonus. The cottage is bigger than the pictures show and equipped with everything you need. Kim and Dan were wonderful hosts.

Perfect location to enjoy all that Cody and Yellowstone have to offer!

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we have stayed in one of Dan and Kim's vacation homes. Last year we stayed in the two bedroom unit right around the corner. Both units were FANTASTIC. Each had all of the equipment needed to make the place our home. Both were super clean and very pretty. Our hosts, Dan and Kim, were very helpful. They were there to welcome us, made sure we had what we needed for our stay and answered any questions about the area/attractions. Each time we have stayed we needed to 'tweek' our reservation slightly. Kim was very accommodating. My husband and I simply cannot say enough to describe how good our experience has been with the vacation home itself and the owner/operators. Go, stay and enjoy!

cabin in Cody

  • 4 of 5

Great little cabin for our stay in Cody! Within walking distance of town. So much history to explore and we rafted the Shoshone! Great adventure! The cabin is Very clean. It was convenient to be able to do laundry, as we'd been staying in hotels for a week. Nice private little deck in the back for a morning coffee. Only complaint is the uncomfortable bed- really needs a new mattress. We kept rolling to the middle. Other than that, a great stay. I would recommend for a couple who want to be close to the action and forego the hotel experience.

Cozy cabin

  • 4 of 5

Conveniently situated in downtown Cody within walking distance to restaurants, the river walk, stores and the Bill Cody Museum. The "cabin" was wonderfully stocked with all the necessary supplies - soap, paper towels, laundry soap, etc. and Kim even brought us over some coffee for our first morning. The only items missing were charcoal for the grill and wood for the outdoor fire pit. Since we spent most of our time site seeing in Yellowstone, the museum and other side road trips these last two weren't really missed. The cabin was very clean and neat upon our arrival, had a wonderful side deck to relax and read and Kim left us with reams of information on restaurants, sites, road trips and other interesting attractions. The only downside was the traffic noise from one of the main streets leading into town.

Wonderful Cozy little Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in the Cozy Cabin and it was just perfect for my Dad and I to spend some time together while on a visit to Yellowstone National Park. This sweet little home in Cody, Wyoming is full of 1940's charm and character. It's very clean, and the cabin décor makes you feel right at home. Kim is a very kind and gracious host and we would certainly book this place again!
