Sunny was always available through text messaging in case I had any questions. He was very quick to reply and provided helpful information. He also provided a very clean and homey living space for my stay. I felt very welcomed and comfortable.
Clean, convenient, and comfortable. No freezer (so no ice cream) and no cable TV.
We found that the apartment was very cozy, it suited us perfectly. The location was not the best but it was not a far distance from big attractions which made up for it. The apartment was well kept and had everything we needed available. Definitely a great value and we will definitely be returning here if we ever need to stay in Los Angeles again. The host left us very helpful emails as well as welcome guide which was a great help. There was nothing we were left feeling we needed besides an extra trash bag.
I find it difficult to write this review, but I hope this will be taken as constructive. I think there is a fundamental misunderstanding in the difference between renting a furnished apartment and an apartment for travelers. The first issue was the mold in the bathtub. We called the owner to address the problem and they were very nice and sent the cleaning person to the apartment. The cleaning lady tried to convince us the mold was a stain and rubbed her finger across it, even though the room smelled of mold. The bed is a futon type mattress on wooden slats with no top sheet. This was the most uncomfortable sleeping arrangements we have ever slept on. The ad said there was air conditioning and when we arrived the house was incredibly hot. The cleaning lady showed us the portable air conditioner and set it up. This is an issue which should be in the welcome book. There was less furniture in the apartment than is pictured. There was no dish towels and the kitchen trash bin was dirty and no bags available. There was very minimal cleaning supplies so that we could clean up after ourselves, the broom hardly swept up anything. The laundry is coin operated and should be mentioned in the posting. If I were renting a furnished apartment I would be prepared to clean and sanitize my rental. I would also not expect the basics such as coffee filters or paper towels because I can buy what I need myself. But as a traveler, I expect the basics of at least what I would get at a cheap hotel. This is not my first rental of a vacation home so I do not think I am asking too much. There was functioning WIFI and a nice TV. The location was very central to everything we wanted to do. The house has potential to be a great rental for travelers, but the basics need improvement. If there had been a real mattress with a top sheet and bleach applied to the bathtub, I think I could have overlooked the rest.
