Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Here is a BEAUTIFUL fully furnished lake front guest house offered for rent daily located on the very popular Birch Creek part of Lake Fork. For the main house on this property, please see vrbo ad #360606. Birch Creek has been well known for its big bass that it has produced and is even more known for duck hunting that is hard to beat! The secluded property is a total of 7.2 acres of many trees. It is a perfect hunting or fishing getaway.

The guest house is an ample sized getaway built in 2009 and freshly renovated with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath and a huge front deck with a ceiling fan for relaxing. There is a queen bed in each of the 2 bedrooms and also a queen air mattress for the living room. Do you have a family reunion, business trip, or a wedding coming up? Rent both houses for a very nice retreat for your friends and family. We also offer help with catering and setup upon request. Don't forget to rent a golf cart or even get two for cruising around the property and up and back to the lake with ease! Smaller duck boats or jon boats may be able to launch at the lake depending on the water level, but larger boats will have to go to a boat ramp and then park at the lake for the weekend. If you need a guide to get you closer to one of those big Lake Fork bass or a guide who knows how to get the ducks out of Birch Creek let me know as I know the best people for the job. Also, I have a guide for catfish and crappie that can put more fish in the boat than anyone I have ever seen! For reservations give me a call at the number listed in the ad. Thanks! Chris

Skeeter and McDonald's tournament rates are $125 per night for 2 people with a 4 day minimum. If you try to book these days at regular rates I will send the correct invoice.

Lake levels are great at this time but we absolutely recommend renting our 10 foot Pond Prowler 2 man bass boat to get you to the creek area where all the big fish are if you want to fish behind the house! It's only $85 for the entire stay and we will have it at the lake for you ready to fish.

What makes this house unique

We love this getaway because it is away from the hustle and bustle of Dallas. There are only a handful of houses around this area, so it is very peaceful and quiet. It's a great place to enjoy nature!

We LOVED this place! WAY WAY better than the cabins we have rented in the past!

  • 5 of 5

This place was super nice and we loved the front deck/porch. We sat and watched all kinds of birds fly by and it was a total peaceful getaway. My husband usually just rents a cheap room with no kitchen and even no fridge but this place is a fully furnished small home that used to be a full time residence and the rental price per night is about the same as a cheap room with no noise and no need to go out to eat as there is a barbecue grill and a full kitchen. Next time I visit I for sure want to go to the main house:).

We loved seeing deer from the porch in the mornings. Quiet. Clean house. Cold air conditioning.

My family enjoyed taking walks in the evening. We loved getting away from the big city for three days.

Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I wanted a cabin to go to where we could just relax, chill, go fishing and spend time together! That's exactly what we got when we stayed here!

The owner Chris was easy to work with. His cabin was perfect! It was clean when we got there. It has all the amenities for your stay.

It's a short like 5 minute walk/hike to the lake. The view of Lake Fork is beautiful down there. We loved just sitting on the front porch and when it rained the roof covered us. So you didn't have to worry about getting wet. It's very peaceful and if you're a bird watcher. There's plenty of birds to watch. We also saw some deer in the evenings.

Overall, my family and I will probably most definitely stay here again! Thanks Chris!

Very nice!

  • 3 of 5

Perfect for my fishing partner and myself. Two bedrooms with window units that drown out any extraneous noise. The property is secluded and and has everything needed. The only problem is if you are in Emory and hit the directions on the website it takes you down about 3 miles of dirt roads and then finally stops in the middle of the dirt road with no rental property in site. The best thing is to come in from Lake Fork and go north on 154 and the directions are real easy with no dirt roads. County Road 1195 is gravel but is good. When on 1195 and come to 1194 the directions say turn right but don't do that and turn left and go a little over a quarter of a mile and it dead ends. Turn left and you are there! Enjoyed our stay and will be back next year!

Disappointing

  • 1 of 5

Cabin itself was ok but we filtered for a waterfront property and it was but we could not see the water from the cabin like the picture showed and it was ar least 300 yards away. The grass was not cut and the road from the cabin to the nearest boat launch was not suitable for a boat to travel back and forth on. Next trip we will definitely ask an owner for more details before booking.

Owner's Response: Sorry about the yard. I had a run in with the yard guys about this and it was corrected but it was the day after you left. It is waterfront and it is a big property so you are correct that you can't see the lake from the house. We rent boats to fish in behind the house so most people do that or they trailer to the boat ramp. Yes you should have called and asked these questions beforehand instead of leaving me a 1 star review on something that didn't work for you but obviously most people like.

Nice and secluded, well furnished, couple of small issues, but we would stay again!

This guest house in the woods is quiet and relaxing. It is far enough away from the main house to still be private. Be aware that it's a five minute walk to the lake from this cabin. Once you get to the water, it's peaceful and a great place to watch birds and just enjoy the water. We found an old dock with some benches on it down the road, which proved a great place for an early evening snack and bird watching. The beds and sofa were comfortable, kitchen well furnished, and ceiling fans and A/C units keep you cool! We had the feeling recent upgrades had been made, like fresh paint, and perhaps more improvements are planned as well. We could not find instructions for how to make the DVD player show on the television, but luckily there is Dish service and plenty to watch there. The bedrooms could use some nightstands and bedside lamps, also something on which to hang bath towels in the bathroom would be great! The front door could not be locked from the outside, as it appeared someone had broken the key off in the lock mechanism. We were able to lock it from the inside however. The flooring is nice, and easy to clean, and the appliances work well, except for the toaster, which seems to have one element burned out. My daughter and I shared a bed, because the other had a lot of dog hair on the comforter, presumably from a previous guest. We love that the cabin is pet friendly, because we were able to bring our dog. However, she is not allowed on furniture or beds. The comforter on the bed we did use, while pet hair free, had sort of lumpy filling, but we were able to find a blanket in the laundry closet to keep us warm at night. Chris was terrific, and always answered my emails quickly, giving directions and information, and was very accommodating to our needs. There are wrought iron chairs on the deck, but we brought our own little table and folding chairs to put out there so we could enjoy meals there comfortably. There are many birds in the area for those of you who enjoy watching them. We would surely use this cabin again should the need arise. Thank you!! :-)
