Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Here is a BEAUTIFUL fully furnished lake front guest house offered for rent daily located on the very popular Birch Creek part of Lake Fork. For the main house on this property, please see vrbo ad #360606. Birch Creek has been well known for its big bass that it has produced and is even more known for duck hunting that is hard to beat! The secluded property is a total of 7.2 acres of many trees. It is a perfect hunting or fishing getaway.

The guest house is an ample sized getaway built in 2009 and freshly renovated with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath and a huge front deck with a ceiling fan for relaxing. There is a queen bed in each of the 2 bedrooms and also a queen air mattress for the living room. Do you have a family reunion, business trip, or a wedding coming up? Rent both houses for a very nice retreat for your friends and family. We also offer help with catering and setup upon request. Don't forget to rent a golf cart or even get two for cruising around the property and up and back to the lake with ease! Smaller duck boats or jon boats may be able to launch at the lake depending on the water level, but larger boats will have to go to a boat ramp and then park at the lake for the weekend. If you need a guide to get you closer to one of those big Lake Fork bass or a guide who knows how to get the ducks out of Birch Creek let me know as I know the best people for the job. Also, I have a guide for catfish and crappie that can put more fish in the boat than anyone I have ever seen! For reservations give me a call at the number listed in the ad. Thanks! Chris

Skeeter and McDonald's tournament rates are $125 per night for 2 people with a 4 day minimum. If you try to book these days at regular rates I will send the correct invoice.

Lake levels are great at this time but we absolutely recommend renting our 10 foot Pond Prowler 2 man bass boat to get you to the creek area where all the big fish are if you want to fish behind the house! It's only $85 for the entire stay and we will have it at the lake for you ready to fish.

What makes this house unique

We love this getaway because it is away from the hustle and bustle of Dallas. There are only a handful of houses around this area, so it is very peaceful and quiet. It's a great place to enjoy nature!

We LOVED this place! WAY WAY better than the cabins we have rented in the past!

  • 5 of 5

This place was super nice and we loved the front deck/porch. We sat and watched all kinds of birds fly by and it was a total peaceful getaway. My husband usually just rents a cheap room with no kitchen and even no fridge but this place is a fully furnished small home that used to be a full time residence and the rental price per night is about the same as a cheap room with no noise and no need to go out to eat as there is a barbecue grill and a full kitchen. Next time I visit I for sure want to go to the main house:).

Perfect getaway cabin!

  • 5 of 5

The property was beautiful, a very short walk to the water, and the cabin was well-equipped! Very peaceful, private getaway with no distractions or disturbances. Chris was so helpful and gave great directions; the place is really not hard to find especially during the daytime. General tips: no side tables in the rooms, but overall plenty of surface space in the kitchen (bring a dishwashing brush/sponge for dishes!) and living room. The kitchen is spacious and there's a great little grill outside on the porch (bring extra charcoal and a grill brush). Had an absolutely lovely time; it was a perfect getaway for R&R.

The cabin size was what I expected however it needs a good cleaning

  • 2 of 5

The floors are all ceramic tile and need to be cleaned something fierce. If we walked around barefoot, it felt like sand all over the floor. There were no washcloths anywhere in the cabin, not even a dishcloth to wash the dishes with. This probably explains why some of the pans and utensils have dried food on them.

Cabin/area was great

  • 2 of 5

The cabin was nice, comfortable and offered a good getaway. There is another larger cabin on the property not too far off but it was vacant so we had the area to ourselves which was nice. The lake was a short walk away and offered an Eastern view which was great for a sunrise picture.

I have no complaints about the cabin/area but the two star rating is due to the fact I was unable to secure directions and access instructions to the cabin from the owner (via Web or phone). We had communicated earlier in the week but I was unable to reach him the day before and the day of our arrival. Google maps got us close but this was a dirt road and not being familiar with the area and arriving after dark (we drove ten hours from Missouri) added to my concern. Luckily, after going through the reviews my wife found some directions that helped us find the cabin. Once I compared the exterior of the cabin to the photos on the web verifying I was in the right place (there were no visible house numbers) I was pleased to be able to find the keys he left for me pretty easily. Things happen and I understand that so I would stay there again since I know the way.
