About the Property
3 bedroom cottage comfortably sleeps 6. Open kitchen-family space gathers all.
We will consider a 4 day rental in August. We have some of the best swimming in Brantingham. Contact us about openings. Come and enjoy!
Our three bedroom cottage features a NEW kitchen and vaulted ceilings in every room. Three bedrooms comfortably sleep six guests in two double beds and two twin beds. We supply blankets, pillows and mattress pads. Guests bring sheets, pillow cases, personal towels and paper goods. The open plan kitchen-living area is a natural gathering place made cozy by a wood burning stove. The new kitchen, completed in Spring 2016, is fully equipped to include an electric stove/oven, a large refrigerator/freezer, cooking and eating utensils, toaster, microwave & coffeemaker. The table expands to seat six persons. There's a new flat screen TV for your enjoyment. A helpful information binder informs renters of popular things to see and do in the area. The bathroom features a shower and a NEW sink, mirror and vanity. Outdoors you can relax on the deck, toast marshmallows in a campfire, grill and use the large picnic table.
Come and enjoy fresh Adirondack air and clean, pure mountain lakes. Our sand beach is an excellent place for young and old alike to build sand castles, make new friends and swim in safe, clear water which gradually deepens. The beach is a private beach shared by several camp owners. It is only steps away and there are no steep stairs. There are benches and a raft for swimming and it's the perfect place to watch the sunset. Swimming and non-motorized boating are safe from fast moving, noisy watercraft, as motorized boats are not permitted. However, if you have a motorboat or jet ski, Pleasant Lake is right next to larger Brantingham Lake and the boat launch is only 1/4 mile down the road. A canoe, kayak, paddles and life vests are included in the rental for additional recreation. There are well groomed trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding and ATVs. Golfers can enjoy a public 18-hole course just a mile away.
Restaurants and a post office are within walking distance. There is a natural water slide for tubing on Otter Creek. Fishing is good in our lake as well as other lakes, rivers, and streams. Double feature movies can be seen at the old fashion Valley Brook Drive-In five minutes away. The Brantingham Arts Council offers exciting programs and activities throughout the summer.

Pleasant Lake is the ideal place for young and old alike to enjoy nature and sports. The lakes in the area are fed by natural ground-fed springs and the water is monitored annually for its high quality. It is crystal clear, clean and healthy, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, boating and fishing. Within easy driving are several beautiful waterfalls and parks. Also nearby are extensive well-groomed trails for biking, hiking, horseback riding and ATVs. Tubing and natural rock sliding is located in nearby Otter Creek. A mile away is a beautiful 18-hole public golf course winding through forests and around a picturesque pond. Star gazing with clear skies is never better than in Brantingham. Here you can study the Milky Way, the moon and planets. Minutes away is an old-fashion drive-in where you can enjoy double-feature, first-run movies. Museums and historic homes in the area include Constable Hall and Lewis County Historical Society. The Brantingham Cultural Arts Council presents interesting programs throughout the summer of music, visual arts, wild life and Adirondack history. We provide an information binder of extensive details about specific attractions and activities our guests would enjoy during their stay.
About the owner: In 1948 when my parents were first married they started going to Pleasant Lake. They enjoyed the lake so much they bought a building lot in 1955. On weekends and hot summer evenings my folks would take us to the lake to swim in the cool, refreshing water. In 1959 they placed a small two bedroom trailer on the lot so we could spend the entire summer at the lake. My sister, brother and I spent our summers growing up swimming, sailing, building sand castles, and telling stories by the campfire, exploring with our bikes, hiking, and everything imaginable that kids love to do. My parents built our cottage to replace the trailer in 1969. Many years later in 1991, my husband and I bought the cottage. Since then we have shared it with others. We have wonderful and abundant memories of our Pleasant Lake, Brantingham summers and want to share this place with families who enjoy the great outdoors and the many opportunities it offers. We invite you to come for a stay and create your own special memories.
Why the Owner Chose Brantingham, NY, USA:
We bought our vacation cottage in Brantingham because our experience of growing up on the lake was so profound, we wanted our children, as well as other families, to have the same opportunity to enjoy and appreciate nature, its beauty and the recreation of the Adirondacks.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Today we especially relish seeing the new generation of children learning to swim, kayak, catch their first fish, build sand castles, toast marshmellows by the campfire and appreciate nature. As far as the older generation goes its always wonderful to catch a glowing sunset, smell a campfire and the distinct Adirondack pines. Idling away hours in the sun with a good book with the sparkling lake water in the background has a way of relaxing and rejuvenating oneself.
