Small Space, Big Style, Modernist Sensibility. Tucked into a lush courtyard, this cottage in Seattle’s renowned Harvard-Belmont Historic District is a charming little gem.
The 320-square foot cottage contains a queen-size bed and accommodates two guests. There is a well-appointed kitchen, three-quarter bath, washer and dryer, secure wi-fi connection, wood-burning fireplace and dimmable lights throughout. When the sun is shining, the gazebo in the courtyard is the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine.
Dedicated off-street parking allows you to leave your car and explore Capitol Hill on foot. Within a half mile you will find espresso bars, hand-forged donuts, a ramen shop, fine dining, an independent movie theater, a public library, gas, groceries and tree-lined streets of gracious, early 20th century homes. The neighborhood boasts the city’s only residential Landmark District, which is featured on numerous architectural walking tours. The location on the west slope of Capitol Hill also makes this cottage convenient to the vibrant South Lake Union neighborhood, home to the Museum of History and Industry, the Center for Wooden Boats, the REI flagship store, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Hello! We are Erik and Pamela, both natives of the Pacific Northwest. After meeting in Seattle, we moved to New York and Washington, D.C. and eventually decided to return home in 2008. We love fussing over details relating to this vacation rental, when we are not working at our day jobs as an environmental attorney and residential real estate broker/freelance photographer We adore biking, skiing, fishing and trading notes with pretty much anyone on the vibrant restaurant scenes in Seattle, Portland and Vancouver B.C. We also love renovating homes (we are on our fifth in 11 years). There's just something addictive about the process of creating something personal, beautiful and functional for us, our friends and our guests to enjoy. We thought we received the highest compliment ever when one of our contractors asked if he could bring his wife to stay at the cottage for their anniversary.
Erik Johnson purchased this cottage in 2010
excellent location :
- easy to reach from I-5
- easy access to I-5 (N - weekdays)
- bus 47 to downtown is nearby (but check schedule, it is not frequent)
- bus 49 from downtown brings you to Broadway, with QFC and easy walk down
The parking space for the car is a bonus - we did our town visits on foot and by bus.
We loved nearby restaurants "One shot" and "Poppy".
And let's not forget the friendly owners Pam and Erik, thanks guys !
The cottage is like the pictures, cosy, luminous, well maintened and the garden is a little oasis.
Capitol Hill neighborhood is nice, quiet and just a 10 minute drive from Pike Place Market.
You will find everything you need in the cottage and the parking is very convenient especially in a city like Seattle.
We would recommend the cottage.

Had a wonderful stay here. The cottage is within walking distance to lots of great local shops and restaurants. Eric was very nice and helpful.
We enjoyed everything about the little garden cottage. It was so cleverly designed and had everything we needed. And we really loved the art work. It was a perfect spot in a lovely, convenient neighborhood. I highly recommend it.
The bungalow looked exactly like the pictured, and had many other amenities that are not mentioned. It's the perfect spot if you really want to feel like part of the city. We've already want to come back to Seattle and when we do we know where we want to stay!
Easy access to downtown, Broadway, South Lake Union, University of Washington, Sunday farmers' market
