About Steve Harding
I am a geologist by background, born and raised in canada where i continue to live and work today. I along with my family live in beautiful nova scotia in eastern canada. I first traveled to costa rica in the early 1980's and fell in love with the people and place and hoped at that time that someday I would be able to spend more time in this special place.
Steve Harding purchased this Villa in 2008
Why Steve Harding chose Parrita
I first saw the property in 2008 and fell in love with everything about it. The property is a magical blend of contemporary luxury, complete privacy, unparalleled views and easy access to all activities and amenities.
What makes this Villa unique
The house sits high above the rainforest with views that are indescribable - whether looking out across the infinity pool towards the ocean or gazing towards the mountains from the balconies that surround the house. The villa is encased in glass, so the incredible vistas are also always around you even when inside the home. The ultra-contemporary style of the villa makes for very unique spaces and feeling, blending with the outdoor canvas. The immense attraction for me came with the pure sense of privacy one feels at the villa. There is nothing other than nature and geography visible from the property, sounds only those that are natural. The proximity is very close to amenities, but once at the villa, all seems intimate and peaceful. The large acreage (60 acres) of rainforest is truly amazing, dissected by rivers and natural pools and waterfalls to swim in and below. For the hundreds of guests we have now had stay at eden estate, all have been captivated by the beauty of the villa and property.
Pool / Spa
Amazing property. Was everything we hoped it would be
One of a kind property. Felt like the king of Costa Rica staying there
A Slice of Paradise
Steve, the owner, was really great in communicating before our stay. He was quick to respond with any information we needed before we arrived. If you're only staying a couple of nights you really don't need to leave the property because it's so beautiful. Make sure you bring all the food up you need though, unless you don't mind traversing the road back to town I highly recommend Eden Estate!
Spectacular home! Breathtaking views!
During our stay the pool was going through some serious drainage problems. The staff spent serious time and commitment keeping it filled (on top of the mountain). Extremely grateful for this attention to our stay. Could not of ask for a better host!!!
We booked this property last minute and Steve was very accommodating and helpful. The house is amazing with stunning 360* views of mountains and even the ocean, pool is amazing, The rooms are the only area of the house that are air conditioned (very common for Most homes we have stayed at in Costa Rica) and very comfortable. The living area is spacious but it has no comfortable place to sit and relax and the upper decks do not have any furniture to sit on. This place would definitely be 5 stars if their was a comfortable place to relax.
WiFi does not work which may be due to just where the property is located. The drive up to the property was not an issue but you definitely need 4WD.
We did have an internet/Wi-Fi outage during Nicky's stay which was resolved immediately thereafter (not an issue since). Our road was completely rebuilt beginning 2018, the lowermost 200 metres however became bumpier following an earthquake in the region. This is currently being patched.
Absolutely amazing views
We had a great experience from start to finish. Steve was extremely helpful with questions and recommendations prior to the trip. He warned us about the unpaved roadways to the house (you absolutely need 4 wheel drive to get there) and once we finally made it to the house, the views were stunning. Luis, the caretaker, was an absolute pleasure and our family got to know him well. He is a wealth of knowledge about Costa Rican culture. We felt well taken care of and our experience would not have been the same without Luis and this home as part of our stay.
Stunning views! The best place. Exceeded our expectations.
We stayed at Eden Estates with our three children (17, 16 and 12). The setting was breathtaking. We had fun hiking the trails, swimming in the pool and enjoying the views. The caretaker Luis was amazing. Such a kind man who set up a great week of activities including the monkey mangrove tour, zip lining, fishing, the ocean king catamaran, horseback riding, tour to Manuel Antonio, and hiking to some amazing waterfalls. The kids loved exploring the property and even went out a couple nights with flashlights on the trails. Steve the owner so so helpful helping us to know what to plan for before we came and gave us lots of ideas of fun things to do. The directions were perfect. It was a trip we will always remember. I will miss waking up to the most amazing view ever. Make sure and try the sweet lemons one of the many citrus trees on the property.
