Perfect space and amenities for our family of six. Loves the porches, location and decor.
All Inn is easily among our favorite rentals on the island. This year there were six of us and a dog. The porches were wonderful for coffee and reading in the morning, and for wine and watching the know and lighthouse late in the afternoon. Ao.e rentals are luxurious but.not welcoming. This home beckons occupants. The only.two.thimgs we would have changed would be more cabinet space for our food, which we had ro.leave out.on.the counters, and we had anticipated being able to ride bikes but.ome had a flat tire and was not repaired during our visit.
Thank you for your comments, we will pass along to the owners. We hope to see you back on the island soon.
Not happy with management company of this property!
We came during the hurricane aftermath and the ferry was shut down so we lost a lot of money for the first day and night rental we never got. This was our fault as we didn't pay for the extra insurance, as the manager kept curtly reminding us, but we were surprised the management company still charged us a very high amount for a late check out fee, which you'd think they could have waived since this costs them nothing extra to offer and no rental income is lost as a goodwill gesture. Speaking of which, after we finally got there after a rough journey, they called us the next morning around 8 am- WAKING us all up early on our first day of vacation and our ONLY day to sleep in, to ask us to LEAVE early out of the house but "feel free to use the cart" she said. I reminded her, once I slowly woke up, that we paid an exorbitant amount for for four hours extra in the HOUSE not to ride around in a cart with my family. I mistakenly thought she was making sure we were okay, and not just calling and waking us up to serve their needs. It was not a good start to our stay. When we called to report that a chair leg was leaning and unsafe to sit in and a stair step had a loose board, they acted like we were bothering them. We weren't asking them to fix these things, we just wanted to report it so they were aware and no one got hurt staying there. The rental also came with a Shoals Club membership but when we all got dressed and down there, it was closed to temporary members for a Labor Day event and only open to real members we were told as they turned us away. That would have been nice to have a heads up from management on that as well. There were also no coffee filters and other really basic things and after the large amount we paid for just two nights, we thought that would have been a nice touch. For the money, I didn't think the property was close enough to the beach or anything but what made our trip most unpleasant was really the management of this property. They were not friendly or accommodating at all. We've been to Bald Head Island many times the past ten years and always had a great experience. It was sad to try a new place and have a bad one. We will not be using this company again.
Everything we wanted and needed it to be!
My husband, four kids and I came in to help with the inauguration Badwater Cape Fear 51 mile race March 22. We came in late Friday night and left Sunday morning. I was looking for a well-located house that my husband and kids could use all-day while I worked as the time-keeper for the race (7 am - 10 pm). The house was perfect for us- and with 2 golf carts, I was able to take one and leave one for the family to use. They toured the lighthouse, went shopping, spent time on the beach and came to visit me several times at the Conservancy (race headquarters). Normally I would be more in charge of taking care of our kids on a trip like this, but this time I couldn't...but Bald Head Island was the perfect venue to let my husband step up and take over. We put the 2 teenagers in the upstairs bedroom so that they could stay up late and use the kitchen/living area. That worked well for all of us early-to-bed-early-to-risers sleeping downstairs. We arrived after dark on Friday, and as first-timers to Bald Head, had no idea where to go or how to get around. The location of the house made it easy to drop off our things, jump on a golf cart and head to Mojo's for a late dinner (the grocery store had already closed when we got there). The map they provided in the house also helped a lot until we got our bearings. It really is a simple island once you get there and everyone is so helpful if you stop to ask. We will definitely be back next year for the race! We look forward to exploring more of the island next time.
