Napa Valley is a world renown travel destination. We love the northern part of the wine country. Calistoga offers the tranquil setting that one is looking for in a vacation or break away. In many ways Sonoma and Alexander Valley offer the relaxed traveler a lot of opportunities, especially for the ones that look for family-owned/boutique wineries or for people that long for 'just a weekend away' with family and friends from the city.

Activities Napa/Calistoga:

- winetasting ( all around us )

- Ballooning in Calistoga : Calistoga balloons & bonaventura balloon company

- Bike rentals in Calistoga

- Bike tours in Napa/Sonoma

- Golfing in Calistoga

- Hiking at Bothe state park (trailhead just south of town, off Hwy29)

- Hiking up Mt. St. Helena (trailhead at nearby Robert Louis Stevenson state park)

- Horse riding – for example, Horsen around in Bodega Bay

- Lake Sonoma & Russian River

- Picnicking at vineyards, parks and along the Russian river

- Petrified forest (2 miles away)

- Zip line (zip & sip) tour

- Mineral baths

Around Sonoma County:

- day trips to San Francisco and the ocean

- River Rock Casino

- discover giant redwood trees at Armstrong Redwood Park

- enjoy the town of Guerneville with its bohemian shops

- Charles Schultz Museum in Santa Rosa

- live music & concerts (Calistoga stages on weekends, and Luther Burbank Center for the arts)

Secluded retreat in beautiful country

  • 5 of 5

We loved our five day stay at the villa! It was warm and well appointed. There were four of us staying at the villa and we had everything we needed. The hot tub was wonderful after our long days out exploring the area and the property was so quiet and serene that it was easy to forget you were ten minutes from Calistoga. Would definitely stay here again!

Clean and simple house with nice hot tub. Great location for going between the Napa and Sonoma sides of the valley and easy Uber ride to Calistoga.

Spacious getaway in the hills

  • 5 of 5

Two couples stayed and enjoyed the lovely surroundings. Everything that might be needed was provided in the way of towels, dishes etc. Nice hot tub but too, hot that weekend for us to enjoy.

It was the hottest weekend on record and no air conditioning. Wish there had been a way to mitigate that!

We'd definitely come again!

Beautiful surrounds, nicely maintained, good cycling holiday

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice 2 BR house w great kitchen and living room (if not quite a "Villa"), reasonably close to Callistoga, set in the countryside with all the benefits that provides: quiet, birds, fresh air, and gorgeous old oak trees. It was exactly what we expected from the description. We had bicycles, so we took a wonderful ride South on Callisto Road, then Saint Helena Rd over the ridge, and on to Charles Krug Winery for a great lunch on the lawn. Links are not permitted on the these reviews but if you want to see a map of the ride, go to strava-dot-com-fwdslash-activities-fwdslash-973962023

The next day we cycled the Franz Valley Loop which was drop-dead gorgeous.

Before we left the owner came by and introduced herself. It was a great time.
