If you want a retreat somewhere quiet where you can just relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of nature and wildlife, this is it! The ranch is also perfectly located if you like hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding. The ranch borders the Chiricahua National Forest, so the access to the beautiful mountain range is unlimited. Perfect if you want to bring your own horses, or you can join the daily horseback rides that are offered in the area. The Turkey Creek area where the ranch is located has been the home to different Indian communities for thousands of years. And most recently the Apaches. A lot of traces from their communities has been found on the property. People also come to the area for stargazing and bird watching. There are several rare bird species in the area. The main house has a small living room, a kitchen, one bathroom and two bedrooms. It's simple, but it's nice and cozy and you will find most of what you need. One bedroom has a King bed, and the other bedroom has a bunk bed. The small bathroom has a shower and a small bathtub. The house has a big porch on three sides of the house. Very nice to sit there and listen to the birds and the wildlife up in the mountains. The new guest house that was finished in October 2015 has four separate bedrooms. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom with a shower. Whether you are active people, nature lovers, interested in the old west/Indian history, or just looking for somewhere to relax, I can assure you that the surroundings will help you find peace of mind. The atmosphere out here is spectacular. Whether you are a couple, a family or a bigger group, this beautiful place is the right retreat for you if it's a small, nice and cozy place in an amazing area you are looking for!
My family and I bought the property a while ago as a vacation home. We go down there as often as we can! Our two kids enjoy it just as much as we do:) What we fell for was the location of the property, it's just outstanding!
Unlimited hiking options, and mountain bike trails starting from just outside the doorstep. You can walk from the property and directly into the Chiricahua Mountains National Forest. Several scenic hiking trails. The canyon is the home of the Apache Indians and Geronimo. A lot of old ruins and old artifacts have been found on the property and the area around. The property is surrounded by 'Old West' history. 5 min drive from the house is Johnny Ringo's grave, where he was shot by the old oak (Tombstone movie).. In the area you can rent horses and join daily horseback riding in the stunning mountains. The canyon is a perfect place for horseback riding. The Chiricahua National Monument is only a 40 min drive away. Definitely worth a visit! The legendary city of Tombstone is only an hour away, where legends like the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday lived. A chance to experience the old western life and history, and a good western show!
