Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 3)
Open the pretty painted door from the street and a stylish, white-painted stone entrance lobby sets the scene. A bright Moroccan rug and cushions add a dash of colour and a collection of practical shopping baskets is lined up under a bench. Opposite is a coat and hat rack. One’s eye is drawn along a stone path and raised flower- beds to the spacious garden on your left; ahead is the cane-covered outdoor seating area adjacent to the kitchen-living room.
Cooking, living and dining
One’s first impressions are of a light and airy space. An arched doorway leads to the 2 bedrooms and bathroom. On the right is the kitchen and dining area, to the left a comfortable, linen-covered sofa opposite the fireplace. A French-style café table and chairs, linen blinds and curtains all add character to the open-plan space. The floors throughout are a soft, taupe resin finish and the accent colour is Hermes orange. Chic, cheerful and modern.
With breathtaking views over farmlands to the hills beyond this is a very romantic retreat. The wall hung clothes hooks were copied from an old design and there are linen-lined baskets for clothes. A pair of vintage, red velvet chairs pull together the colours of the Moroccan rug and the curtains. Nothing of the modern world is to be seen from this wonderful room - just the Italian landscape at it’s very best.
China’s room – single bed
Smaller but not tiny the 2nd bedroom is fresh and bright with its red/orange and white colour scheme. A cosy Tyrol blanket adds texture to this charming room. Clothes hooks and baskets are provided as the master bedroom.
Both bedrooms share the gleaming white modern bathroom. A large shower, good directional lighting, an oversize hot towel rail and wall mirror combine to make bathing a delight.

Umbria has an excellent climate where being outside, dining or resting and reading is one of our greatest holiday pleasures, especially after long days exploring the region. Andrea has designed and planted the garden to allow plenty of space to sunbathe or to recline on a shady day-bed piled with soft pillows. Evenings are ideal to enjoy a glass of excellent wine on the terrace. For many people the most vivid holiday memories are those of warm evenings, spent with family or friends in a scented garden.
Keywords: LA CASETTA (The Cottage)
Just a few steps up the old cobbled street from Villa Buonanotte Barbanera and the main square "Piazza della Repubblica" sits a guest cottage of great charm which has been completely re-designed and restored in a fresh contemporary style by Andrea Falkner Campi.
“Like the Villa I have created a home-from-home using my favourite palette of colours and decorative items found on my travels.” Although the Cottage is available for a minimum of 3 days with flexible arrival and departure times it is nonetheless fully equipped for much longer stays.
It is also ideal as extra accommodation for a larger party taking the Villa.

Wonderful holiday destination
Our stay at La Casetta was sublime. The villa is small, very comfortable, attractively and thoughtfully designed with every amenity required. We love the beautiful views of the countryside and the peaceful garden setting. Andrea is a very gracious and helpful host. Spello is a beautiful hilltop town with interesting architecture, beautiful walks and Great restaurants such as La Cantina and Il Pinturicchio etc. etc.! It
is a great base for day trips to other towns such as Montefalco, Assisi, Orvieto etc. etc! We can't wait to return.😀 We highly recommend a stay at La Casetta.
Lovely apartment, fantastic location
My husband and I had a wonderful stay in the lovely Casetta apartment in magical Spello. We fell in love with the town, and the apartment was a fantastic base from which to explore it and the surrounding towns and countryside. La Casetta is just a few minutes walk from the centre of the old town where there are lots of great restaurants. It's also a beautiful place to stroll around at night or indeed any time of the day. The apartment had everything we needed, and we particularly appreciated having a lovely private outside space to sit in. Our hostess, Andrea was very welcoming and helpful, and I do hope we are abe to come and stay again.
We loved our stay in Spello and La Cassata. It is a beautiful hilltop village of real quality in presentation, amenities and particularly great Umbrian food. Andrea was rightfully very proud of her house and very responsive to any needs of her guests. A wonderful way to enjoy the beauty of Italy and this region. No hesitation in recommending.
Perfect little hideaway...
A beautifully decorated hideaway right in the very centre of charming Spello. Andrea is wonderfully warm and welcoming and her "tips and suggestions" book absolutely invaluable.
If I could I would move right in!
Charming Cottage in Authentic Umbria
Last summer, my husband and I stayed with friends in Andrea's gorgeous larger villa in Spello. When my daughter and I decided to return this fall for a shorter visit to Umbria, I knew immediately I wanted to stay in La Casetta. It did not disappoint: The cottage reflects Andrea's unique style that pairs chic with comfort and every convenience. The house is situated on a quintessential Umbrian cobblestone street, just blocks from the town center, and nestled next to a charming, private garden. From the front windows you can view the expansive countryside below. Andrea is the most gracious host, eager to share information about the town, nearby attractions (Assisi and Perugia are nearby favorites within easy driving distance, or you can hike up Mt. Subasio to the fairytale town of Collepino). Andrea even arranged for a excellent private tour to local vineyards for us. We loved Spello for its beauty, less-known attractions, and friendliness (when my Italian failed me, one of the shopkeepers actually WALKED us to where we wanted to go). We can not wait to return to this magical place.
Beautiful La Casetta in Spello
We experienced a magical stay of 5 nights at La Casetta. The house is beautifully and sumptuously styled, with incredible thought in all of the details. It is bright, and nestled amongst beautiful gardens, amid the enchanting upper Spello, with views of the countryside. We explored near (local restaurant La Cantina merited two visits), and far (Spello is centrally located and provides easy access to multiple Umbrian villages/towns of interest). I will always remember La Casetta as "The Happy House" - we are sure to be back as guests of the lovely owner Andrea.
