Hosts Richard & Victoria Guarantee Your Stay is "Better Than Home"

Husband and wife team, Richard and Victoria have been traveling together for over 20 years, and have been landlords in Boston for 15 years.

"We travel too, and we expect everything to be perfect! Really." said Richard, co-owner of Spare Suite, Inc.

"Our standards are first class, and five stars only. And we stand behind that 100 percent."

Hosts, Richard and Victoria work hard to ensure the accommodations are flawless, every time.

"We started vacation rentals as an experiment," Victoria said. "We furnished a top floor studio in our own multi-family home on Royal Street, just hoping it may get booked a couple of weeks each month. Immediately, it started booking and just never stopped."

Richard and Victoria now have 15 short term rentals in Boston and attribute their success to the fantastic reviews.

"Reviews fuel the fire", Richard said. "Now we have 3 additional short term furnished luxury apartments in Back Bay, Fenway and the South End that all get first class, five star reviews."

The couple say their experience with property management, and their knowledge of the city of Boston, combined with their insistence upon attention to detail is why they have such a high guest satisfaction rate.

When you check in, everything will be in perfect condition. You will feel as if the apartment was put together just for you, clean and sterile from our cleaning crew on every surface, even the switch plates and remote controls.

We call it, "White Glove, Black Light Cleaning." It's our service mark.

Standards for cleanliness exceed those of any 5 star hotel. Every surface, appliance, drawer, ledge and corner are cleaned using a check-list with over 120 points. All surfaces, including floors and walls are vacuumed, then hand washed - never mopped.

Once the unit is thoroughly cleaned, it is inspected by your hosts Richard or Victoria or another manager before you check in to be certain everything is up to snuff. Feel free to do the 'white glove test' anywhere in the apartment.

Linens are laundered locally using bleach, and inspected twice before they go back for use in the unit. We use high quality cotton sheets and plush towels.

Not convinced that booking one of these 'phat pads' will be a good move? Have a look at what every guest ever said about the location you like. Just check out any major travel website!

Last year we won awards for excellence from Trip Advisor, Booking-com, Airbnb and American Express, just to name a few.

You may notice that all of these amazing apartments earn five star reviews without exception.

Book with confidence. Feel free to call Richard or Victoria with any questions at all.

Are you from out of town? Allston is West Boston, a part of the city of Boston. Allston is connected to Back Bay and Fenway neighborhoods by Commonwealth Ave., Storrow Drive and the Mass. Pike [90]. As you move from Back Bay to North Allston, or Lower Allston as it is sometimes called, the houses change from traditional brownstone row houses to a mix of 1880 - 1920 Victorian wood houses.

About Richard Rogers

We are your hosts - Richard and Victoria.

We have been traveling together for 18 years, and we have been Boston landlords since 2005. This studio is the top floor of our house - we live downstairs.

Our standards are 'FIRST CLASS and FIVE STAR' and we won't accept less. Since we started doing short term rentals it has become our passion to provide the cleanest, most tastefully furnished, and simply best accommodations available.

In every circumstance we personally guarantee that everything will exceed your expectations. Every detail has been carefully though out and implemented to ensure the best possible stay.

Why Richard Rogers chose Allston

We do rent quite a few apartments, but this is our only short-term vacation rental in Allston.

We decided to rent our third floor studio short term to have the flexibility to allow our own family to stay there. The short term rentals have been a huge success and we just love doing it. The neighborhood is a hidden gem in Boston - it is just outside of Harvard Square, and a few minutes to Back Bay. Being so close to everything with no traffic noise and only the sounds of birds and crickets amazes most guests, and that's just one of the things we love about this location.

Now, this is not our only short term rental, and we do have other units around town if you want to be in Back Bay, Fenway or the South End - Just ask.

What makes this apartment unique

The studio is very comfortable. Somehow, everyone says it seems like home when they get there. Some guests check in, and don't even leave again until they check out. Others use the location as a central launching pad to explore the city. Being right next to Boston University and a few minutes from the Harvard Business School, as well as a short walk to Harvard Square, the studio is perfect for anyone with short-term plans at one of the universities. The studio is also right by the new Allston branch of the Boston Public Library and features a new Library Park just across North Harvard Street.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The studio apartment is quite the hidden gem! It's a great area that is quiet and safe. Walking distance to Harvard stadium/square and we found it easy to get to the train station to catch the train station for the green line. Nearby shops and restaurants are in full effect of diversity.

We found that coming back into the lower Allston area from a busy downtown Boston, was just perfect to unwind.

Highly recommend this place to stay for anybody traveling alone or in two's; for my sister and I found this place very suitable for us and the queen bed comfortable.

Cute apartment in cool neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the Royal Street studio on a recommendation from Harvard Housing and I was very pleased. This is about a 10 minute walk to the Business School and very easy to get to Harvard Square or to downtown. Everything was beautifully clean. The studio was a great deal for the week I spent. I would return if my situation brings me back to Harvard again.

Compact, Convenient, Complete

  • 5 of 5

Thank you very much Richard and Victoria (and feline ambassador Stripey) for helping to make our first visit to Boston happy and memorable. We come from Singapore (the Boston of the East) and this has been home away from home for nine days for me and my son. PS - Very impressed with the detailed thinking that has gone into the layout of the studio and the stocking of the bath and kitchen. Clearly some geniuses were behind this!

My husband and I have stayed in the studio twice for a month each time and loved it. We're planning our third visit right now! The studio is compact, spotless and delightful. Richard and Victoria have everything perfect for their guests' arrival and respond instantly if you have questions or problems. The area is quiet, but close to everything you need. Highly recommended!

Best part of the trip was 'home'

  • 5 of 5

The studio was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. Absolutely stunning. My friends were visiting from France and started calling the studio 'home' after the first night. They had a hard time locking up the door on their departure day. Their experience in this studio was truly a fantastic one. Thank you! Thank you! So glad I found you
